  1. can you tell if this is a brown or rainbow?
  2. we had a slight change of plans. we fished off Lilleys dock friday and got 2 trout on worms. went to K dock on Bulls saturday and sunday and threw jerkbaits on the mud flats. sat we ended up with 5 LMB, 3 were keepers, and a keeper walleye. sunday we got skunked doing the same things in the same places. this morning we got a boat at Lilleys and drifted scuds, jigs, worms and powerbait from fall creek to below LL, caught one on a scud, 1 on a worm and 3 on powerbait. went to monkey island but only made one pass with no bites so we went back up to fall creek and drifted back a couple times. got another one on a worm and 4-5 more on powerbait. biggest was just over 17"
  3. ive heard of the white bite on here so i got ready for that. i budgeted a stop at Lilley's into this trip.
  4. looks like we might get to fish Taneycomo on friday afternoon and saturday. ive never fished it before and my only trout are from the urban program around STL. we're fishing spinning gear, and i have a bunch of 16th and 8th oz white/gray maribou jigs that i tied. also jerkbaits, small spoons and 3" swimbaits. is there a hot color/pattern/technique currently?
  5. personally, id start just fast enought to make the bait wobble, then speed up from there. somewhere along the line you should find the speed they want
  6. if you cant catch walleye, you have to eat white bass. its real good anyway, you just have to soak it, refrigerate it, trim it down to nothing, cook it on a wood plank, then toss in the trash and get a burger! just goofing...i dont really care for fish of any sort. 99% of my yearly catch of anything goes back in the drink. i was in that boat, and it was a blast. i caught more on a 3" shad bodied swimbait than i did a crawler. including a common carp and 2 channel cats.
  7. Got to meet lmt-out at the ramp on Sat. He and his wife were both really nice people and his new boat gave our boat an inferiority complex! it is a beautiful ride
  8. if im remembering correctly, i think upper 60's at Hawker on Sunday
  9. good luck to you.
  10. how high is it now? the interwebs show about 5ft above normal pool.
  11. Hi Everybody! i hear that the lake is up. does anyone know of water clarity at Mutton, Orleans Trail, and Masters? thanks in advance!
  12. does anyone know if there is a good spot to catch skipjack on the lower meremec? is any time of the year good, better, best? thanks in advance.
  13. my rigs now are 40lb braid to a barrel swivel with an egg sinker above the swivel. 15 or 25lb mono leader, santee cooper rigged with a float a few inches above the hook.
  14. i just watched one of his truman cat vids last night. ive instituted a few of his crappie trolling tips on my boat. i never paid any attention to the catfish ones....till now.
  15. rod and reel, from a boat.
  16. i need some advice. ive never been to truman, and would like to try to go and search for blue cats. any info that anyone is willing to share as to where and when to try would be greatly appreciated.
  17. 15-25 ft deep in the dock slips is what we do. go catch a bunch of bluegill, clean em and stuff your traps full of the carcasses. we have had good luck with both the round minnow style traps, and the little square ones from walmart.
  18. i was fishing with Top_Dollar. we didnt have much of an issue with it out at that depth. there was a lot of it from shore to 10-15 ft. there was a lot of it loose in the water, but it didnt seem to hang up on the line or rigs too much.
  19. it was weird for sure, a tale of 2 trips. a day and a half of really good fishing, and a day and a half of really slow fishing, all under the same conditions. no drastic environmental changes or anything. they just stopped biting. i've never seen so much snot in the water in this lake. i've never seen a bite change so dramatically i've never seen so many box turtles swimming across the cove
  20. If you dont mind me prying, what depth were you having the best success?

We trolled bandits, flicker shads, and strike king xd3's yesterday morning for a couple hrs in Mutton Creek and only had 1 small white bass to show for it. Graph showed lots of fish, just not interested in what i was offering. On the upside, my new rod holders worked great!
