  1. if you cant catch walleye, you have to eat white bass. its real good anyway, you just have to soak it, refrigerate it, trim it down to nothing, cook it on a wood plank, then toss in the trash and get a burger! just goofing...i dont really care for fish of any sort. 99% of my yearly catch of anything goes back in the drink. i was in that boat, and it was a blast. i caught more on a 3" shad bodied swimbait than i did a crawler. including a common carp and 2 channel cats.
  2. Got to meet lmt-out at the ramp on Sat. He and his wife were both really nice people and his new boat gave our boat an inferiority complex! it is a beautiful ride
  3. if im remembering correctly, i think upper 60's at Hawker on Sunday
  4. good luck to you.
  5. how high is it now? the interwebs show about 5ft above normal pool.
  6. Hi Everybody! i hear that the lake is up. does anyone know of water clarity at Mutton, Orleans Trail, and Masters? thanks in advance!
  7. does anyone know if there is a good spot to catch skipjack on the lower meremec? is any time of the year good, better, best? thanks in advance.
  8. my rigs now are 40lb braid to a barrel swivel with an egg sinker above the swivel. 15 or 25lb mono leader, santee cooper rigged with a float a few inches above the hook.
  9. i just watched one of his truman cat vids last night. ive instituted a few of his crappie trolling tips on my boat. i never paid any attention to the catfish ones....till now.
  10. rod and reel, from a boat.
  11. i need some advice. ive never been to truman, and would like to try to go and search for blue cats. any info that anyone is willing to share as to where and when to try would be greatly appreciated.
  12. 15-25 ft deep in the dock slips is what we do. go catch a bunch of bluegill, clean em and stuff your traps full of the carcasses. we have had good luck with both the round minnow style traps, and the little square ones from walmart.
  13. i was fishing with Top_Dollar. we didnt have much of an issue with it out at that depth. there was a lot of it from shore to 10-15 ft. there was a lot of it loose in the water, but it didnt seem to hang up on the line or rigs too much.
  14. it was weird for sure, a tale of 2 trips. a day and a half of really good fishing, and a day and a half of really slow fishing, all under the same conditions. no drastic environmental changes or anything. they just stopped biting. i've never seen so much snot in the water in this lake. i've never seen a bite change so dramatically i've never seen so many box turtles swimming across the cove
  15. If you dont mind me prying, what depth were you having the best success?

We trolled bandits, flicker shads, and strike king xd3's yesterday morning for a couple hrs in Mutton Creek and only had 1 small white bass to show for it. Graph showed lots of fish, just not interested in what i was offering. On the upside, my new rod holders worked great!

Trolled Hartley with bandit 300s for about an hr and a half this evening and caught 5 short crappie, a big bluegill, and a keeper walleye. Surface temp was 88 on my fish graph
  19. any guess as to if it is going to stabilize in the next week? has it been high?
  20. im going to be down next thurs-fri to see about trolling cranks and maybe bottom bouncing a little. Want to try to get my daughter a PB crappie(anything over 12") and her first walleye. my last couple of trips down we have been mid lake or south, nothing north of Hawker. im thinking about fishing out of Orleans Trail this trip, and was just curious if anyone has been fishing the north end at all?
  21. Sorry for missing this one. But we were using both 200 and 300s. Hope you had a good trip.
  22. we did that a month ago and had one evening of incredible crappie fishing, and then the next morning same fish in the same spot didnt want any of it. Chartreuse Rootbeer and citrus shad bandits got a lot of attention, as did blue and purple tiger flicker shad and some home painted silver/purple/chart silver blue chart. Good Luck and let us know how it goes with Lmt Out!!
  23. some of the lakes at Busch Wildlife have Hybrids stocked in them. ive caught them in 33, 34, and 35.
  24. i have a St. Croix Trout Series 2pc 7' Light Fast($130ish i believe) that i absolutely love. i have it paired with a 25 sized Pflueger Supreme, and it's great. great feel, and enough backbone to handle big fish. my brother has the Panfish series, its the same rod, but a one piece vs a 2 and he thinks it is under powered for bigger fish.
