  1. Big Brown season is more toward October, might be a few 15 to 20'' fish running around right now but they are few and far between and don't forget the size limit on them and possession limit. Rainbows are very numerous but again size restriction must be followed and Taney can be hard for some people to understand Phil has a good information thread on here. Taney is also an interesting body of water I have seen very few c&r fish have issues dyeing after being caught, I don't have a problem with people keeping their legal limit it is a put and take fishery and it is what the trout are there for.
  2. I am confused! If you are trolling 40 to 50 ft is this a new unused rigger or are you trolling with a different rigger? And if trolling is working why would you be allowed to be steered away from it?
  3. 17.5 TO 17.75 it was getting frustrating throwing them back but at the same time come next spring I know where I will be throwing them. Lots of catfish in the area perfect 2 to 4 pound size cats couldn't ask for better. Just the depth is going to be hard for most people the downriggers are my saving grace.
  4. Same sauce works great on Asparagus, Broccoli, Green Beans and Squash.
  5. This is Fresh Crappie in one of my sauces. Bake the Crappie at 350 for 45 minutes in aluminum foil with a light coating of olive oil, The Sauce is 1/4 stick butter. 1/4 teaspoon Accent Flavor enhancer. 1/4 teaspoon Paprika. 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper. 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper and 1 tablespoon sugar. Heat in microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds and stir. Pour over crappie while still stirring. The Carrots are also cooked in a sauce. 5 minutes medium add 1/4 stick butter. 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1/4 cup Honey.
  6. I didn't.. I lost coke 1 a month now... sweet tea is for Saturday evening after fishing. NO WAY im giving up coffee though someone will be killed first
  7. DEEP is the word. The fish are certainly at Beaver Shores but if you cant get down to them you will want to look other places. Trolled the area for 6 hours today using the #6 pearl white flicker shad in 18 to 33 fow for 9 walleye, 19 crappie, 3 catfish , 2 very ambitious perch, 1 white 1 hybrid, 1 drum, 2 Kentucky's. Speed was 1.8 mph. Lots of short fish have moved in the area, on the keeper side 9 crappie and 2 catfish the smaller fish came out 18 to 25fow and the legal fish were in the deeper water. Thermocline was holding right at 35fow.
  8. Mitch since the heart attack I completely changed my diet. Meat is only from a butcher or game I have shot, fish intake way up and more veggies and fruits. Loose the coke and sweet tea. 45 lbs down by simply knocking off the store bought crap and I feel like I am 20 again. It is all about sensible and "Safer" meat.
  9. Quill what is really bad is home owners are allowed to access pictures and reports so the service inspectors need to be very careful. You would die laughing at how many people use their middle finger to point to things, and how many auto-correct fubars happen. I have had a few happen myself and thank god I do everything off my PC and edit it before uploading. This new I-phone App I don't like one bit. Honestly I think many problems in this country is so many people relying on technology and not on themselves. Tech has made people stupid!
  10. Yes and Yes. Depends on generation is how easy bank access is typically even with generation it can be fished just takes more work. As far as catching and keeping goes there are plenty of trout but you will get looked at very strange if you keep them in the dam area and you keep a Brown you will only wish it was a Missouri Small mouth them trout guys are as crazy about the browns as the smallie guys are. For a first time trip get a guide Like Bill Babler or one of Lillies Landings. Or make the trip and just enjoy exploring but Later in the year get Duane Doty to guide you in the top section.
  11. Cant Speak for the Bass or bank fishing, When I go up there is Walleye and Crappie time. There are many on here that fish it and could be more helpful about bank and bass.
  12. SBU is a good school have had a few friends go there. For fishing my lord there are so many places, Stockton, Truman, Pom the rivers and creeks its hard to just name one. I would start around Stockton for sure though.
  13. I love technology for the time saving on some things but on others its not so good. Voice recognition for words is definitely not up to par... But the laptop in truck with printer and scanner is so nice for keeping my days shorter.
  14. What is bad about auto-correct is we have a new program for insurance claims where you speak in to your phone to label pictures. Had one come back ( 8 SH**S ) per slope with additional ( sh**) and debris imbedded in shingles) It was suppose to say HITS! technology IS NOT always the best thing!
  15. BUT IT'S GREAT FOR BASS AND CRAPPIE NOT TO MENTION WALLEYE...
  16. Stupid auto-correct It was turned on for the forum somehow!
  17. Sounds like the upgrade may have messed with your settings... Go back to setting and check it didn't change your transducer ID. after that put it on the #1 option for screen color ( old school b&w ) then set your sensitivity and clarity. I would bet it messed up your transducer setting.
  18. NO SHAD KILL!!!! Im liking how fat the fish are getting the last few years. Might be tough on anglers but tits great for butt a crap not to mention the walleye.
  19. Yup mucho mucho bait, lakes food supply is in great shape for shad and even craws. Nice to see that and its reflecting in the size of fish ( fatness )
  20. Not My fault I called you, you watched me catching them... and I even gave them permission to go see you lol
  21. John, For me I like dropping live bait down boulder faces... In PC though anchoring off the channel and casting into it has produced some beast live bait and liver.
  22. Hey I have come home empty handed a few times, granted I was carp fishing
  23. Im just thinking for a ride to the island pm the boat. I got the mixer for the Margaritas.
  24. Lugging nothing im talking about using it as a JIG drop it down and yoyo it. works great at hammering suspended fish! A-rig is not just a chuck and wench bait its a helluvajig
