  1. Gar can put up a heck of a fight and they are mighty tasty critters as well.
  2. kids and fish = smiles always life is good.
  3. Life is good man and two are better than 1 and four are better than 2 My brother went out last night and got into them where I told you but he said they were moving in and out of shallows and had to zig-zag a lot. He said he misses not being in a boat with sidescan or as he calls it cheatscan.
  4. KJ, if they move, they will just end up in Rocky Branch don't worry they are predictable this time of year right after the spawn. You have about 3 to 4 weeks till they spread out as a rule. What im real happy with is the amount and size of walleye. Been catching fish from 8'' up to 30'' in good numbers of each size range my guess is within 5 years we will see high teen walleye coming from Beaver
  5. Wrong Lake wrong State lol. Missouri early goose season starts to late and limit is to small. Not saying I don't do it but by the time it opens im ready to get back to fishing till regular duck opens... Dam You now I got duck hunting on my brain.
  6. Need2fish; Spend a lot of time on Google Earth looking back through time on the maps and see what the lakes you want to fish on look like at different levels, after time you will be able to pick out stumps, timber, rocks and contours. They are a great benefit of technology, pay attention to types of points and the banks that will help you figure out where a mudline or current break will develop in a wind condition. There is so much more that goes in to trolling than just dropping a bait behind the boat and putting the boat in gear.
  7. Hybrids were up to 5lbs not the whites, whites were maxing at about 2 to 2.5 the post was for both species.
  8. Great advise Randy. If people are wanting to know what the secret is to trolling it is knowing everything going on, its really an art-form for lack of better words. If you ride in a boat with a person who really has taken time to master the art its like watching a painter strike brush strokes across a canvas.
  9. Pretty awesome seeing it. I would estimate it at 80+ pounds thing was awesome. People ever wonder why I fish its to see nature like that, saw some deer and started picking out dinner , jerky , roast etc today looks like a great goose hatch and I was looking at the vittles already
  10. If you want whites and Hybrids go launch at 12 bridge... start trolling as soon as you leave the ramp.... head for the islands.... Fill ice chest tell all your friends... Please they are ruining the crappie and walleye bite that was there 140 to 170 ft behind the boat with White Flicker shad sizes 5 6 7 at 2.5mph...
  11. Someone please go catch all the dam whites and hybrids at 12 bridge they are getting in the way of my walleye and crappie fishing. I don't even know how many we caught today but an ungodly amount some as large as 5 pounds. I could mark walleye but getting to them was hard though we did manage 12 all short and had to go very shallow to get them.. Coolest part of the trip was watching a paddle role around for about 10 minutes.
  12. Sorry I have to laugh, most threads like this ive read from other areas people are telling guys where not to move. Here it becomes which one has the best fishing best tourism etc. If that doesn't say something about how great these Ozarks are im not sure what else could. So much beauty so many choices.
  13. COE yearly pass is 30 bucks and well worth it. You can use the same pass on all COE lakes/ramps.
  14. Because it has to be about blood, guts, politics, drama ( not the good kind of drama but like sons of guns and American chopper showing lives and business messed with ) and the list goes on. I enjoy the Oldies on Youtube when you can forget worries for a hour or two and have good laughs and feel better after. Tack on the lack of family time because of the internet I-phones I- pads I-everything. You know the old saying there is no (I) in Team? Family use to be a team now its an (I). I was listening Reagans Farewell speech today while doing paperwork and it says more than I could. A man proud of his country proud of its people.
  15. But you catch fish! Show me one guy who catches fish or kills game that is not all of what you said. And when they find things that work they find more ways it will work and become experts with it. cept womens on their breast no man can find sign!
  16. http://youtu.be/iFVrtjUmz7c
  17. Holiday Island... Beaver lake is a short drive you can fish the river or tablerock without ever having to trailer any further than the marina. Its not to rural either.
  18. LMAO.. I did not... its a true spot I just didn't give you the gps for it Just showed it to someone else and they got it right off the bat damit.
  19. I think HLS is doing wend night tourneys check their facebook page
  20. Doc is currently occupied searching in vain for my stumpfield if you see smoke over NWA its his fingers clicking a mouse to death
  21. I agree 100% on the Desert. Even if you are flying in to San D. Take the time to drive out to the Imperial Valley and experiance it. One of the most fantastic NWR's is out there in the Sonny Bono NWR use to be the Imperial Wildlife Refuge on the Salton Sea. Dont stay on the main roads but take a couple side roads and walk a few of the washes the amount of wildlife is unreal in the desert.
  22. Mic, If you are going up PCH you need to stop off at the Piers on the way, First one I would stop at after San Diego is San Clemente Pier. Its an interesting pier and the beachfront town is Mediterranean with shops and great beach. After that Hit Dana Point for a nice scenic experience after that Newport Pier it has one of the last true Dory Fleets left in the country and a true historical landmark often over looked. You can do all three of those in one day. While at Newport you have to have one of the Hamburgers at Ruby's on the pier. You could then hit Disneyland but Knotts Berry Farm IMO is better for family, Don't miss Venice Beach its an experience you have to live to understand. On your way up the coast from there the Dutch Community of Solvein is a must stop in. after that its on to the north areas.
  23. Ok who is going to be on the lake tomorrow?
