  1. I was thinking about this last night between the rumbles of ( hahah you aint sleeping ) and I would much rather see AGFC concentrate on the LMB and SMB populations. The smallies from what I have been seeing are really doing good and removing some of the competition would only improve the fishery for them. But on the other hand I would say the majority of my LMB are in more riverine areas it seems ( again my opinion and experience ) so a catch and keep on spots could help Both species attain higher population and better size. To be truthful I would like to see AGFC improve the fisheries for LMB, SMB, Crappie and Walleye. Beaver seems to have a great population of Whites and Catfish and not much needed to help them. She is managed as a trophy Striper Lake and to that end I would like to see a slot limit on them from 28'' to 32'' and then a 1 fish per day over 40'' They will always need to be stocked as will the hybrid's.
  2. Rain gauge says 5.3 inches in rogers at my house.
  3. Goggle its attitudes like the one you comment on that keep good people just reading and NEVER posting. Lurkers outnumber posters on most sites 100 to 1 I would bet. Disagreements are one thing personal threats are another. To bad, think of how many good reports and helpful information is lost because people just don't want to deal with it.
  4. she should be rising with this rain nicely
  5. I think it would be a good regulation but I see several issues. First is getting people away from CR and to CRF its been almost bread into people to CR now. The other issue is identification most novice fishermen only know they caught a bass. I am concerned we will see people keeping all species and citations being handed out left and right.
  6. I use Seaguar Floro in 10lb for all 4 of my trolling rigs my live bait / casting rods are 12lb seaguar floro.... Typically I just run the line to a small snap and that's it. Im actually taking this rainy day to rig up some planer boards. They will be attached to 40ft of weed whacker string so I can clip them on a cleft and then send out the baits so I don't need to constantly be pulling in the boards as well. Use to use that method on my outriggers when I was ocean fishing it just saves time. I will still run the same main line to the lures though
  7. Im not worried about it. Fish im getting aren't what they are after lol and certainly not in the areas the bass boys will be fishing, Push comes to shove I will just go out after 3pm
  8. If your looking at livewells the Trackers is nice with rounded corners, but you can also build one rather easily that is also removable so when you want to ski its not in the way. The deck on my tracker is front and back is more than comfortable for two people fly casting. The 90 merc has pulled skiers no issues its a great blend of fishing / hunting machine plus just for fun. I do not put more than myself and 1 other in it though its rated for 5 people 3 is ok but more than that i just dont feel comfortable with. But ill say I have had 3 hunters and 2 labs in it lol. Nothing like watching two labs peak over the side to see how close we were to the geese.
  9. Tracker 190. Kjackson, its a great little area if you go north of 12 birdge toward Prairie Creek the area is a big flat from the bluffs to the island and can be highly productive, I would be willing to bet it should turn on this weekend. Watch out along the bluff line with the docks there are a lot of achor cables for them sticking out a ways plus a lot of new brush piles.
  10. didn't even check the temps, my guess would be mid 60's though.
  11. Kjackson, you said all brands are still on the table so I will chime in. When I was looking for a new boat I looked at the G3 and cant say anything bad about them Ive road in them and fished from them. I was looking for a Boat that would hunt and fish and take the abuse of hunting out of a boat. I narrowed it down to Lowe, G3 and Tracker and after a great deal of thought and test drives I settled on the 190tw Tracker its length and hull design gave it a much nicer ride than the others and storage capacity really gave it the edge. I am very glad I picked it as I have been on Beaver and Table rock in some bad storms with nasty waves and its nice to have that V-hull and size for safety. The only draw backs I have found with the boat is the original batteries didn't last worth a beans and I switched them out to Optima Blue Tops. The hinges on the storage lockers were a tad weak but it didn't take much to fix those either. Trailer side rails both broke within 3 weeks which was fine I was going to take them off anyway. Other than that I have been very pleased with the boat it starts every time and is very quiet and for as long a boat as it is it is very responsive in turning.
  12. LOL. I know you will.
  13. Started at 4:40 pm at 12 bridge and did not leave the area Finished up at 8pm. I had a special guest referee with me after 5:30 to who was in charge of measurements and releasing crappie before boating lol. Sorry Wilson trading the Crappie for a stick will be a memory I will never forget. Anyway 28 fish caught around 9 to 12 bites we lost ( probably crappie that the hooks ripped the lips off of. Fish were 9 short walleye 5 crappie from 11 to 16'' yes that is 16 inches. and the rest were rat stripers. Lake was calm and beautiful, fish were in 25 to 35 fow and as been the pattern 140ft back with flicker shad #7's today in White. Special Guest Ref hooked up. Little rats were out in force. See ya in a couple more years but they sure are healthy looking and it makes you smile. I did say 16'' didn't I Just a few fish on the screen Cant ask for a nicer day
  14. Im betting at least 2 to 3 more weeks, Crappie Walleye and Whites I cleaned Sunday still had plenty of eggs in them. We might see a great bite until maybe July if a person can follow the migration of the fish back out of the spawning grounds and on to the main lake. Only issue would be the Summer Hatch might keep people off or limit the hours to avoid the annoying water Hatch. Last year as an example I was still able to get in some really good white and walleye fishing 5 weeks after the spawn was done by following the fish till they hit the main lake after that they scattered and made it tough going.
  15. That's strange you say that Wrench a friend brought that up right after Boston. He said Pearl Harbor was nothing really until Japan Bombed it and that Gettysburg was just another battle till Lincoln gave his speech or that the Towers were just Buildings in NY until 9-11. He said it takes a major tragedy or event to make things more than what they were.
  16. Its not a dead zone I just haven't gave the fish permission to go back as WC keeps telling me. Not my fault its like farming you know the cattle knows the farmers truck they just don't know this day they the farmer came to slaughter them :) But yes it reloads quickly though but takes time finding where they are. Some days they are right on the flat other days they set up in the coves or right on the channel edge. I have had days it took 3 or 4 hours to locate where they grazing. If work leaves me alone im going to go farming this afternoon.
  17. Still full of eggs Quill.
  18. You guys got me digging to pretty neat stuff http://www.rogersarkansas.com/museum/searchresults.asp?cx=009629333808878180748%3Asfawnion874&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=UTF-8&q=beaver+lake&sa=Search
  19. Very Nice, Same style and pattern and time it appears that yeilded for me on Beaver Yesterday. Seemed after 5 the Walleye turned on real nice, Curious what bait you ere trolling?
  20. The Picture was taken around 2pm or so to harass Ducky it wasnt even close to what we ended up keeping. Walleye have to be 18'' on Beaver to keep and only 1 was that size. No need to pull anyones leg or I wouldn't give exact place and way to catch them. Im betting WC has some nice pics tonight if he makes it out. Probably bigger crappie to the man can catch them
  21. Doc there are plenty trust me we were tossing back whites most people would cry to catch the ones we cleaned still had row in them. Life has been good on the rodent lately. We actually had to avoid the mudline because anytime we came through it there as a Bass or striper waiting to bite and the crappie were on the other side of it so the bass and stripers biting first screwed us up on getting a crappie.
  22. Intent plays a big part in misinformation. Anyone this day in age who is on a computer that will not take the time to verify or attempt to verify what someone says regarding a business or product is either a fool or lazy or both and you know what they say about a fool and his money. If a guide or for that matter ANY business post information negatively about a client then they are truly the fool as others can see that and most would make the judgment call not to use his/her business or service. It is business suicide in all honesty. Most business's actually want testimonials to their service to reflect positively. I think it would be a good thing if people posted negatively and positively about service from not just guides but outdoor related services/products. There use to be a site that did that had a Board of Inquiry it was very helpful and yes on occasion there was the badmouthing but in many years being on that site I saw that very quickly the false claims were weeded out and most the time it was a misunderstanding that actually aided both parties involved. I know Phil Personally and have a lot of respect for him and believe he would be extremely fair in his judgment and doubt he would ban people for being honest so im not worried about that ever happening.
  23. No clue on prices or how good any of them are. but I have seen many people fishing off the docks at PC and HSB not sure if they are suppose to but they do it none the less.
  24. Wilson. I would think so, they were massed up. I told you what to do lol.
