Assault Weapons
Feathers and Fins replied to Feathers and Fins's topic in New News and General Discussion
So people worry about weapons how about invasion of privacy, Is it the schools business to know who does and does not own a gun? This stuff is getting out of control, they might not pass but really this is getting out of control. -
Key is scouting and being mobile do not ever get locked into one area or mindset, the key word in duck hunting is the word MIGRATORY, The birds move and so should the hunter. River hunting can be rewarding or the biggest pain in the butt especially if fish are biting in the area. Also river hunting requires specialized tactics to be productive and each on has its nitch.

They have been acting weird this year, I know where they are at and havent moved for a month and a half, maybe this rain will finally spur them to move but im betting it takes them a week or two to get up river in numbers they are midlake right now. A few here and there in the river, strange year for sure.

Shhhh thats a secret lol

Doc, on a normal year I would agree with you but with the possibility of so many flats opening up on the river this year I think more guys will be up river looking for fish on beds and that is where the winning top 10 bags will come out of or at least a large amount of them. But I will not be suprised to see someone pull off a big win out of the back of some of the midlake coves out of the back on a the flats. If it stays down it will be taylor made for sight fishing guys. This also bothers me as I think many tournaments will be tearing up on the bed fish if the lake stays low. That type of pressure could also make the FLW become a Smallmouth tournament, A angler who can key in on the Big Smallmouth might be the suprise winner. Anyway it should be interesting if water stays low.

Quill, it will be like Nascar with caution flags and tow boats! There are just so many points, bars and obstructions from Montne up past Blue Springs I did not even try to map out that area, they had better take a day just cruising up with there with side scan on and marking the clear paths or they will need the Tow Boat. Even the maps I posted might be completely diffrent with a couple more feet of drop tack on a Heavy spring rain and all the logs and brush that will be washed down the lake it will be very dangerous. I never run wide open after heavy rains just way to many Mines floating around.

Harris one of my favorite movie lines comes from jaws. You yell dunk everyone turns to see what the idiot I is doing, You yell gun everyone runs like hell. Yet both are equally as deadly, think about how many people have watched that drunk at a bar or party and then read the next day he killed a family driving home, to me the more dangerous one is the drunk and all those who could have stopped him. If you take sucide and criminal activities out of the gun arguement which technically are both criminal, how dangerous are gun owners? it comes right back to the one arguement politicians dont want to talk about even this go around which is criminals. -
I havent got all of it done im trying to get the pole timber and concrete blocks as well as the dock blocks on it as well. for smaller areas so its more zoomed in. I really fear if she doesnt go up peopel will get skewered this summer.

Massive gas tube failure in the AR Video, a free floating hand grip made out of something like steel wouldnt have caught fire, also noticed the cook-offs the guns not made to go MACHINE GUN, even the MG had to have barrel changes and they were only aloud 250 round max burst. The video was rumored when it came out to be a super stress test by Colt with sub-par parts that had been stressed already. So there is no way to know for sure what happened or was behind the testing or how many rounds were already fired through the gun or what stress had already been applied. Also Much speculation as to editing of the video. I sure know i wouldnt cook off over 800 rounds in any of my guns that fast it damages the barrel and most people know that. The AK was on fire at the start of the video, Not suprised to see and AK's wood hand grip catch fire though. The last video the guy is a dumbass but i see people driving and doing stunts with cars and motorcycles i can say the same thing about. Tater said it best " You cant fix stupid" -
Good luck on that he is easy 50 and getting him out of that hole is not going to be easy at all.

Wayne and that is the question I ask people all the time Why when Cig smoking, drinking alchol, are just as dangerous to a person or the public does the goverment not BAN them but yet they keep wanting to BAN guns? -
Worry less about patterns on Beaver and more about locating possible areas that could have fish, Beaver likes to change her mind in seconds let alone day to day. From Rocky Branch to the Dam she is much like Silverwood Lake and from Rocky Branch to Beaver Shores she will remind you of Hodges. and from Beaver Shores to War Eagle think along the lines of the Delta. As to rental areas Lost Bridge North is the only one i could suggest but never rented a boat myself. Be ready for a large fuel Bill Beaver is a Massive size lake compared to Cali Lakes.

Two years ago I would have looked at you guys and said "YOU ARE BEING SILLY AND MORONIC" But after watching Nanny NY Save us from ourselves, I am not so sure, really banning what size soft drink you can have? We have way to many politicians that are doing what they want and not what they were put in office to do and that is what scares me. Where does it end? -
Ron Housman access is where the cutoff is actually south side of the ramp is the sign. Walley all the way up to 62 bridge right now is very suprising to me thats some very skinny water right now.

Water Body Beaver Lake Tailwater Location The Beaver Lake Tailwater flows from the Base of Beaver Dam west of Eureka Springs north to Table Rock Lake. District Information Fisheries District 1 2805 West Oak Rogers, AR 72756 AGFC Trout Program Jeff Williams, trout management supervisor 870-424-5924 j_williams@agfc.state.ar.us For generation conditions, contact: The U.S. Army Corps of Enginers - 417-336-5083 Southwestern Power Administration - 866-494-1993 Click here for information about the AGFC trout program and trout management plans. Size 7 miles Constructed 1966 Area Specific Regulations Anglers 16 and older must have a fishing license and a trout permit to fish from Beaver Dam to the Houseman Access. Multiple-point hooks with barbs are allowed, except when fishing inside special regulations areas or when fishing with live or prepared baits. Bait fishing is allowed only with a single, barbless hooking point (barbed-shaft baitholder hooks allowed). Limit of five trout (all species combined). All trout 13 to 16 inches long must be released immediately to the water and may not be in possession in this area. Only one trout longer than 16 inches may be kept. Anglers may use no more than one fishing rod or pole and must attend it at all times. No other fishing devices may be used to catch fish. Trout may not be driven, harassed or pursued with noise, objects, boats or by wading to concentrate them. Fish that are filleted or have had head or tail removed may not be in possession while fishing from the shore, boat or transporting fish by boat. Beaver Tailwater Special Regulation Area (0.5 miles below Beaver Dam to 100 yards upstream of Parker Bend Access as indicated by signs): Only artificial lures with barbless hooking points may be used. No natural or scented baits allowed. Chumming is not allowed. Paddlefish Snagging Season: From the Corps of Engineers "No Fishing Beyond This Point" sign to the first Corps boat ramp on the left descending bank, snagging game fish is legal April 15-June 15. Snagged fish may not be released (snagged trout that fall in the slot limit are legal to keep). Snagging must stop once two trout have been taken. Major Sportfish Rainbow trout, brown trout Other Fish paddlefish Access Two public boat accesses are available at Dam Site Park (Dam ramp and Bertrand Access) and one is available at teh Houseman Access east of the town of Busch. Three public walk-in accesses are available at Dam Site Park. One walk-in access and handicap access is available at Parker Bend. Description The Beaver Lake Tailwater was created when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built Beaver Dam in 1966. The water flowing from the base of the dam was too cold to support the native smallmouth bass and sunfish population, so trout were introduced to restore the fishery. Often overshadowed by the Bull Shoals and Norfork Tailwaters, the Beaver Tailwater provides excellent trout angling opportunity and supports a thriving tourism industry. Paddlefish also provide some excellent action below Beaver Dam during paddlefish snagging season.

there are only three walleye baits in my box, some might think it limits me but I have found them to be the most consistant producers, Flicker shad, Keitehs and Rapala SR models. The flickers are running about 4 bucks each the keitechs around a 1.50 each and the rapalas running up to 8 bucks. Nothing high price but very effective for catching them on artificial. Bait i like chubs or shad. Never been a fan of crawlers for some reason. Its getting close to that time of year they should be running up the rivers and i cant wait.
