  1. Garden hose, bb gun and a fine cigar with a glass of your favorite beverage on the porch and you have a fun afternoon,
  2. Nope havent even tried to stick one, Still kicking myself for not taking the bow yesterday had a couple of this years fawns at 20yrds a few does and a nice 8pt. Did see guys who were hunting the islands for deer but no clue if they took anything. J-doc the bite in Rocky Branch was at the back ramp it was wide open for at least 4 hours on the White/hybrids and there were probably 10 boats on the bite. After 12 it was a great bass bite at Beaver Shores we were trolling in 15fow the pattern was interesting if we were headed up river toward the hatchery it was walleye if we were headed toward Prairie Creek it was crappie and Bass.
  3. Started out in Prairie creek at 08:30 looking to see if the shad had moved up, they had not. Went to Rocky Branch and got into a wide open Hybrid/White bite and a few geese that were just begging to be killed, ended up with close to 50 whites/hybrids and a couple kentuckys up to 2 pounds. Ran on back up toward Prairie Creek area and decided to check out the Beaver Shores area's, ended up with 1 keeper walleye 8 short walleye 3 nice crappie and 11 nice largemouths. Baits for the day were Flicker Shad, Keitech's on 1/4oz heads, Zara Spooks and Popr's
  4. 3.6 to 5.6 ft depending on manufacture and type of boat
  5. Where ever in October for Bass only one lake I would think of. Lake Tohopekaliga you didnt say it had to be local and its an 18 hour drive but it is awesome in October. More Local I would go with the ROCK and a longer drive Perris in southern Cali, they start stocking trout and those moster LMBs target them and are easy to catch.
  6. There are a few around PC and Rocky Branch. Been seeing a few signs here and there, if it was me I would look at buying a lot and buidling on it so you get what you want on the lake. Other option is I know some have done is buy in the old town section of Rogers anything from 8th street East to 2nd street. The old craftsmen homes are great, still close to the lake only about 10minutes to a couple ramps.
  7. He's been in my prayers as has your family and will stay there.
  8. Southwest Mo NW AR are far from part of a major path but I have found some of the best waterfowling of my life in those two areas. For instance there is a little creek nearby me that i know on the third day of a freeze the birds will be so think on it you limit in minutes and another lake that stays pretty much Ice free because of two warm water creeks and it can be insanity as well or a unhuntable lake in Centerton Ar right off 102 that is an awesome place to go take pictures of bluebill canvasback and redheads. My friends I say the flyway is what you make of it. Oh and if the other forum is the one im thinking of I will be serious on it a few times but mostly Im just trying to get under the skin of those who think they are elite or better than everyone else. Kinda why i like this site everyone is pretty down to earth and will be more than happy to share spots or even hook up for a day of fishing or hunting. I joked with Phil a few weeks back that it seems whenever we call eachother we are fishing lol.. He said because thats what we do.
  9. I actually like the way Phil lets things go to a point, I have learned more from this forum and had more civil discussion on it then many others simply because I know as to most that to keep the conversation going you have to be civil. Its nice to see people points of view some may change some maynot but they tend to make me do more research in ways I might not of before and I keep an open mind on most.
  10. Marty I got Goose jerky and coffee with your name on it any day. Moody, we aint a normal hunting website type group, I am on several and this one I really enjoy a bunch of good ole boys sharing stories and enjoying them jump on in and share yours. Heck I think most of us actually know the properties each hunts and areas and can really relate to eachother. And I do think their is a Honker Decoy that was kidnapped or lost and found last year.
  11. Come over and join me this regular season Randy, dont care if you shoot or not but the morning coffee is great and the laughs are even better.
  12. Marty its been great, we were done in 2 minutes flat home cleaned and birds marinating by 8am. Something fun about getting up at 5:30 friends showing up at 6:00 and being set up by 6:30 and having coffee and watching the sun rise and teal landing in the decoys... What I love about early teal this year was the Half hour before shoot time when we were just sitting around laughing talking and drinking coffee togeather It really was the best part of the season. Nice the birds were here but the company was great and seeing a few new guys eye bulge out as 100 teal were in the decoys before shoot time was hilarious. I guess I reached old timer classification because i would just look over to see how many were landing and keep drinking the coffee and participating in the talk without care one for the birds being there
  13. I would like to see the RBacks play a 7a team but after seeing what some of the 7A is doing this year that loss for the Backs would be devestating.... Next week we face TAM and they are really looking like an SEC Team suprised me... Mizz not suprised but A&M very suprising of the two. 246yrds in punt returns REALLY!!!!
  14. im still going 1105, evaporation rates in winter will help drop it more. Its at 1111 right now and 10ft more isnt out of the question... I would like to see 1090 just for photo opps of old Montne though.
  15. Awesome Marty, it has to be one of the best teal years I can remember.
  16. Na we been seeing Pintail for at least 3 weeks now and my friends in Losianer have had them in their decoys for the last week along with some greys and spoonies. Early migration. even saw our first coots this morning.
  17. So were out doing the dirty to the teal this morning when I see a group of geese flying out of Avoca arm, Figured Honkers and lets get a few, I start calling and they responded perfectly on a string comming in. Just as we raise up on them everyone yelled DONT SHOOT SPECKS.... All we could say is WTH are they doing here this early in the year... Bodes well for a great season but makes me wonder how bad winter will be or is the north so dry and crops so far gone they are moving on through.
  18. Launch at Holiday Island and work your way upriver toward Houseman access you should find a few eyes and crappie. Dont forget your border lakes stamp.
  19. I seriously doubt either of them would lift or will lift a finger for fishing and even less for outdoors. Ryan now he may well try working on it to some degree as he is an outdoorsmen. As far as the two candidates go I wasnt sure how i really felt about Romney till yesterday, seein his interview on Live with Kelly kinda made me feel a little more comfortable with him from a human aspect. Obama I dont trust him one bit and nothing he has said in 4 years or done has shown me diffrent in fact the opposite that his actions and words are lies and double talk and he is untrustwourthy.
  20. Looks like a new brown trout pattern to me
  21. Walleye would be there as well as blacks but my guess with the weather was probably the local whites and crappie. The shad are starting to move to the main lake so you will start seeing many more shad balls plus we had no shad die off last year so it shoudl be fantastic surface fishing in the next few weeks. I see our low on tuesday is 40. Thats going to jump start stuff
  22. Hmmm shad on surface!!! Might you have been around Horshoe bend / montne lol
  23. Yupper 2 man limit plus got into a wide open striper surface bite, they were busting shad for almost 20 minutes straight. As we finished off the limit we saw it start and ran over casting bucktails. 3 of them were in the 20 to 25 range.
  24. Looking like it for lots of people. Its funny my brothers-in-fowling in LA and I may not have been in the same blind but its like we were. Regular duck we are joking about having our laptops in the blinds and skyping to eachother lol. Was fun this morning all of us talking from diffrent states.
