  1. Great weights for a tough day. I was not surprised to see those 6lb fish either and there will be more to come. The lake is really getting healthy and many big bass have been coming in lately.
  2. Might be a little late but just saw this... Rain is already in Ft Smith and looks to be here by 10 or 11 and last all day from there. Your best bet would be try Eden Bluff to Point 12 Good luck it doesn't look to be a nice day on the water.
  3. Good New. Congrats
  4. Bottom looks like tree's probably cedar by the returns Top is shad Middle picture is cloudy but probably shad as well maybe small bass but hard to tell.
  5. Oh 20 to 40 fow from Horseshoe bend to 412 hwy
  6. Welcome to the Site and Lake, I think if you love a challenge Beaver is the lake for anyone if not, well that's why they made roaring river lol. Fishing should turn on the next few weeks barring any more snow.
  7. If memory serves me SCOTUS ruled on the issue of this already. High water mark and below is the property of the state at the time of its admission in to the Union. This guy can certainly write a bill but its constitutionality doesn't hold water. My biggest question is what in Hell is going on in Missouri with all these politicians trying to shoot Nature in its feet.
  8. No Keel saver just cautious where I beach. We will not discuss however someone in some flooded timber and what I did to some cypress knees BTW 3 props that day died but so did a lot of green. Taylor you can meet me at a ramp one day and I will show you how much I abuse a Boat and Redheaded step child even cries for it. Its a working boat not a recreational pretty on the eyes boat. I didn't buy it for that I bought it as a tool and work horse.
  9. Any sighting of a Winnebago yet? That's what I wait for.
  10. If I was to be looking for a new boat right now the things I would want are as follows. Ability to have two people comfortably on the bow. Stable platform Ability to troll with the big motor for 100’s of hours Low maintenance Good live-well V-hull design Must be able to be beached Must be able to go very shallow ( under 12’’) Capacity to hold at minimum of 8 rods Wireless trolling motor “THIS IS A ABSOLUTE MUST” Lowrance HDS system Main kill switches for all electronics 3 batteries In writing this list I looked back at my current boat and this is what I found Ability to have two people comfortably on the bow. ( easily does this and part of the reason is the wireless trolling motor ) Stable platform ( 190 tracker is a wide boat and also a V-hull design making it perfect ) Ability to troll with the big motor for 100’s of hours ( just had mine serviced and 500 hours at idle so easily meets this requirement 90 mercury optimax ) Low maintenance ( I can perform all the standard maintenance myself “ plugs, filters lower unit fluid”) Good live-well ( I would love to see a boat with a circular tank as I use shad a lot but the one I have is ok I just have to use a portable bait well ) V-hull design ( Addressed in #2 ) Must be able to be beached ( Aluminum beats fiberglass easily I hunt a lot and fiberglass wouldn’t handle it ) Must be able to go very shallow ( under 12’’) (Netting shad sometimes requires very shallow boating as does duck hunting and my boat definitely does this) Capacity to hold at minimum of 8 rods (I have had 14 in my locker though it only has 8 dedicated holes ) Wireless trolling motor “THIS IS A ABSOLUTE MUST” ( Check ) Lowrance HDS system (Check) Main kill switches for all electronics ( I installed these myself not hard but well worth it ) 3 batteries ( I have one dedicated to the Sonar gear, 1 dedicated to the trolling motor and the main is to the engine and console instruments ) So though my boat did not come with all of it I was able to DIY the stuff that needed to be done. Total price for the boat with all the goodies out the door was right at 27,000.00 roughly off my head. 5 year warranty beats a used no warranty every day and monthly payments are low. Now I still want to replace my bunks on the trailer for roller bunks I have side rollers on it now and love them. I am not interested in going 60mph down the lake or more I am interested in getting to where I want to go with good fuel economy and reliability. If I am going to the Dam end I will trailer to Rocky Branch or the Damsite. If im going to Rocky Branch I will trailer there or launch at Prairie Creek and run down. If im going up river I launch at Monte Ne or Hickory creek though I can launch and run up to point 12 and Sidewalk faster by launching at Monte Ne than driving to Hickory. My run time to the dam From PC is about 30 minutes roughly and Monte Ne to Sidewalk is about 20 minutes. Unless you are tournament fishing hard you don’t need a Go Fast boat you need reliable point A to B. Make your list of what you MUST have and a list of What you Want. Talk to the dealer about the Wants once you have found the MUST’s.
  11. Yes they will and I will gladly trade you some of my jigs for some of your clousers, But there is a stipulation you jump in my boat and catch a striper. And I have been a busy boy so you have a nice selection to browse through for the trade. That's not even close to all of them lol
  12. Yes sir and why it was not an illegal catch.
  13. Very Nice, Marty that should work on a few fish anyway lol
  14. Something the article did not say I believe needs to be said is. AGFC Regulations. Snagging Snagging is defined as fishing with conventional rods and reels where the fish is impaled by the forceful retrieval of one or more hooks. Snagging sport fish from a bank may be done only within 100 yards below a dam (prohibited below Upper White Oak Lake dam). Snagging from a boat may only be done at the following locations: From 100 yards below all locks and dams on the Arkansas River to the downstream entrance point of the lock structure. From 100 yards below Dam No. 2 (Norrell Lock and Dam) to the boat-launching ramps immediately below the dam. Any sport fish snagged must be kept, applied to the daily limit and may not be sold. The snagging limit is half the hook-and-line daily limit for the water being fished (or the lesser whole number nearest one-half when the limit is an odd number). A full limit of catfish and paddlefish may be taken. Snagging must cease whenever a limit of any species is attained. Suckers may be snagged between sunrise and sunset, April 1-Feb. 15. The daily limit for snagging suckers is 20, the possession limit is 40. Beaver Lake Regulations Area Specific Regulations Largemouth and smallmouth bass must be 15 inches or longer to keep. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass combined daily limit is six. Smallmouth bass daily limit is six. Crappie shorter than 10 inches must be released immediately to the water. Crappie (black and white) combined daily limit is 15. Striped and hybrid striped bass combined daily limit is three Striped bass must be at least 20 inches long to keep. Walleye daily limit for Beaver Lake and its tributaries is four Walleye must be at least 18 inches long to keep. No limit on white bass for Beaver Lake and its tributaries including Lake Sequoyah. Legal to take game fish (except largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass) with spear guns during season. Handicapped-accessible fishing piers are available at Hickory Creek and Prairie Creek. Game fish may be snagged from the bank below Beaver Dam, from the Corps of Engineers “No fishing beyond this point” sign, downstream to the first Corps of Engineers boat ramp on the left descending bank from April 15-June 15. The reason he was able to keep it legally is he stated he was fishing for "walleye" and it was an incidental by-catch.
  15. A lifetime permit is valid for the rest of your life, even if you later move to another state. However, this permit does not include permanent residency. If you move out of state the privileges covered by this permit will still be valid, but you’ll have to buy any other permits as a nonresident. http://mdc.mo.gov/sites/default/files/resources/2010/06/lifetime2014.pdf
  16. This is how I looked at it when I Bought my Lifetime (purely looking at the fishing part of it ) I wasn’t planning on leaving Mo but have since. But back then I fished Lakes, Streams, Creeks and for Trout plus the White River lakes. My yearly License would be $12.00 Yearly fishing, $10.00 White River and $7.00 for Trout for $29.00 a year. I bought my license when I was 40 years old. So it would be $300.00 10 years to pay it off and then after that it cost me nothing. But if you find yourself in a position like mine now moving out of Missouri it would be $42.00 Yearly $10.00 White River and $7.00 for trout for a total of $59.00 a year. So 5 years it’s paid for. Even better I never have to worry about White River permit again which saves me money for my Arkansas License. The average life expectancy in the US is what 80 now heck my family it’s more like 90 so to me this was a no-brainer license. If a person is under 59 years old it really is a smart move financially as it will save you money in the long run both in license cost and if you forget to buy one fine-cost. Now I had never thought about federal matching funds so I am going to ask does anyone have the information for how that works? Post the information if you have it. Does it go off total license sales (including lifetime) or just Point of sale sales? And how much is matched? If it is all inclusive than a lifetime becomes even more since able.
  17. Great story, sounds like a Fish of a Lifetime, a Fight of a Lifetime, probably a mount ( hopefully fiberglass replica) and some fine eats and stories that will be told for his life. To me all those things are what fishing is about “Making memories that will last for a lifetime and no one should ever try and detract from that. Unfortunately this world is now World Wide Web related and some people need to remember what their mothers taught them and that is If you can’t say something nice DO NOT say anything at all. This is a special moment in a man’s life and people should be happy for him.
  18. If ya'll would just drop the money and get the lifetime you wouldn't need to remember
  19. Everett Bass Team Trail Event #1 Saturday March 7th has been moved to launch from PRAIRIE CREEK. This is due to low lake level. Joe Papi asks that we all do our part to spread the word. Papi and his team will be in the pavillion Saturday morning so that everyone can draw for starting position
  20. Dave you might as well ask someone to leave their front door open and give you the key to the family safe. That has to be one of the most guarded bites around Bass anglers are jealous of how tight mouthed anglers are about it. If anyone gives a report they are moving up its already happened and they are sitting on a bluff wall watching the masses and laughing at them.
  21. Wow, some people need to have a stick taken to their butt and learn to look up, you know there are widow-makers all over the place and not looking up is your stupidity.
  22. The river arm will be from Lightly stained to heavily stained just stay in front of the mudline and you will do well. If you run the lake from the dam up to the river in the boat beware of obstructions and if we have any measurable rain take it easy there could be lots of floaters.
  23. As a tracker owner I love mine, but I really hate that they put a bait tank in the port forward compartment, worse mistake they ever could have made. If You want the boat when talking to the salesman specifically tell him DO NOT PUT THAT IN. have it as storage not a bait tank. Now as for Units HDS 7 on the console and HDS 5 on the bow and you would be set. Shop around and you may find them but they will not be near the 600.00 range. for both. but that's my suggestions.
  24. Remove and Replace all Fascia, if the gutters were "spiked" then replace them as well with clips. My suggestion is to do it all also make certain the drip edge is style "d" and that the gutter back goes up under them. Yes its not what you want to hear but it is the best cure and will save you a lot higher repair cost later.
