Greasy, Just like the lakes out west they go deep durring summer. I use to target holdover trout in the lakes out there and some of them were very large. Im betting Tablerock has some beast swimming in it but noone targets them because of the lake famous small mouth fishery. It requires trolling 7 colors of lead-core line and panther martins. I will probably target them a few times this year to sample what the lake holds but I would fully expect rainbows over 5lbs and brown to 10lbs and probably much larger of both species.

Shall We Start A Pool On Lake Levels?
Feathers and Fins replied to rps's topic in General Angling Discussion
Bull 687, Tablerock 921 Beaver 1126.5 The rain has been light enough its soaking in. Had it been a fast non-stop and not had time to soak in I would have put Bull 694, Tablerock at 929 and Beaver at 1130 all gates open. We doged a bullet this time. -
I dont know but im going ot go look in awhile. Im going to first check Lake Atlanta if its not pouring over the spillway to create the run-off that stirs up the creek then i doubt it. I gotta check on a jobsite at 10 then im going to go look over the Atlanta , the creek and the to Prairie creek to see what it looks like. This dam rain is annoying me I need to go fishing, but on the same coin It is giving me the oppertunity to get the boat clean and add the new modifications and toys to it that who knows when i would have otherwise lol.

We all know that the White and Roaring River both feed into Table Rock. Ive caught some trout in the rock by accident as the rock is more a bass lake or thought of anyway. So here is the question's. Does anyone fish for the trout in the lake? Whats the biggest trout known to have been taken out of the Rock? With Bows and Browns very likely in it and being in it for years now I was thinking that lake could likely hold a few monsters.

Well back to stripers this weekend then.

Regulations For Browns Need To Change!
Feathers and Fins replied to northernranger's topic in Current River
Northern and Brute, you guys are giving me the answers that could be used to sway MDC. let me throw another wrinkle in it. On those notes how would you draft a letter to anglers groups to try anf get their support behind you and then through the voices of a larger group be able to draft a letter to MDC with many signatures backing it and showing up at mettings. -
Im not sure its the price of gas, its about on par with last year i beleive. I dont know all the new rules but that could be it. Or it could be many other things from something as small as joining a new club or family responsibilities. Maybe those of us who just liek to fish and are local should form our own club. Rules would be simple, All baits are legal, Turnament last 29 days on the 30th we go out to dinner and brag and tease and have a good evening with friends and family. Tournament is for all species. Fish are not weighed in just measured and photgraphed kept even if you want a meal. Prize is simple everyone chips in $50 bucks at the start of the month and at the end we all go out to dinner with our spouse's to a pre-determined restruant in town and laugh and joke. Sothe prize is really everyone wins and remembers fishing is fun. I would feel sorry for Phill has this forum might explode in laugher from the teasing.

Regulations For Browns Need To Change!
Feathers and Fins replied to northernranger's topic in Current River
Gavin, again you are talking parks and those are where the "general public" will spend their time and money and want to catch fish {doesnt matter type or color} they are there to catch fish. So far there noone has answered the question i posed with any logic that cannot be rebuffed by the MDC as anything more than "I want to catch a trophy brown trout"! The arguement will have to be made as to ( why the limit needs to be increased and how will it benifit all anglers ) If MDC science has shown its is not needed, then those wishing for it to be changed will need to show why and be able to back it up with something more than { I want }. The I want arguement of those of us who would like to have the size limit and increased and bag limit decreased has to out weigh the arguement that the greater majority of people will come back with, which simpy is "Our tax and license dollars pay for these fish and we want to catch and keep and eat them!" That arguement hold far more weight with MDC then the want for a few who want to catch a trophy. I seriously doubt that anyone will get regs inside the parks changed! However if you can use justification for outside the park to be raised then there is a possibility MDC will listen. One option as I pointed out would be construction of a dam allowing fish to escape the park but not return to it. You need to think of not only our wishes for trophy trout but also the general public who's voices far out weigh ours. -

Gavin, I understand the frustration but a trout park is the perfect example of (put n take) peopel go there purely for eating trout, or at least the average person. Fish swim and go where they will, just like ducks going to a closed zone are safe but come out and i will be happy to shoot them. A solution is not tighening the regs in this case but simply building a dam that they can escape out of the park but not get back in. Above the dam keep the park regs, below it enforce a 20'' or larger. Its a simple solution that should keep all happy. -

Please inform me why it should be 1 over 18'' ? Keep in mind the arguement will be that Brown Trout as with all stocked trout are part of the (Put n Take) program and as such should be eligable for them to kept at the current regulated size and bag limits. These are NOT naturally occurring fish and it is the tax dollars or license dollars for you pc freaks that pay for them and the general public who goes to catch a fish doesnt care if its brown, rainbow or a neon pink trout so long as they can catch and keep it for dinner. I would like to see it at 22' 1 fish with closed season to keeping durring October and November myself, but I like many here are probably not your weekend warrior type who just want to catch fish to eat. -
Just got a call from a buddy out fishing today and he said the mudline is all the way down to Beaver Shores. Im skeptical of that but suppose its possible, if it is I know where some stripers and cats will be

I got spanked, and grew up just fine, my boys got spanked and grew up fine. But the best spanking story of all was when i was probably 5 or 6. My Uncle a US Army Srgt Major just home from Viet Nam was back his first night all the family and friends were at Gramas house and he was out back, just off the kitchen and let loose with a GD! Grama came flying out the door grabbed him by the ear pulled him down and spanked his butt in front of all his friends and family. She said " You will not take the name of the lord or swear at my house have you lost your manors?" He and his friends appologised to her and not another word was ever spoke of it. Respect was very big in our family for elders and God and where im sure now most would have laughed at it, that would have been disrespectful and not tolerated. I never heard him GD again. You could see the shame on his face and friends for it.

Check this one off the list also.. Honkers paired and some already with gosslings. -
Stump I was doing some calculations this morning when they beafed up the forecast. Beaver is 1120.39, 1 inch of rain over 1 acre = 27,154 gallons and 17.38 million gallons per square mile. Beaver has 31,700 surface acres. Basically Beaver will raise 1.16 feet per inch of rain. Unfortunately this is suppose to be a major storm with large volumes of water at one time not allowing for the land to absorbe it and with locally as high as 15 inches possible Im going to go way out here for fun only. Lets say we get 8 inches thats 9.33 feet. Add in run off and im betting we see the gates open no later than Thursday pm. Unfortunately Tablerock will be getting rain as welll and with both being at Pool I would bet TR opens her gates next week... Guess we will find out what happens to those new rocks on upper taney. Disclaimer dont ask me to explain the math it would drive me crazy and its not 100% as a lakes topography can change it but it can be found on USGS website.

Hog, If it happens I expect a massive striper point on the slack side of the current on all the points. Could be another banner year for monster top water stripers. Bass this will hurt the spawn but at the same time will stack them up as well. Catfishing should go off the charts in Prairie Creek and the back of Montne. The down side is the flooding it may well cause below the dams. I hope the weather man is wrong not like he is ever right but lets hope he is wrong. -

Quill. Avoca and PC were 62.3 Main lake around the islands was 60.7. There were people out water skiing yesterday some had wet suits others didnt. No signs of bass on spawn beds yet but plenty in less than 2ft of water.
