  6. Hadnt heard of them till now. Just looked and they look like just another bucktail
  7. which one there is a ton on the market
  8. Wait hasn't Ducky been over there A LOT ?
  9. That right there is funny and sad at the same time. But at least the locals haven't yet gone to the Bayou Meto welcoming that out-of-staters get.
  10. No clue been sick the last few days, but I doubt they are clear. When i have launched after storms like this i use dirt areas like the back of PC and even Monte Ne in truth though i would not risk it no fish is worth damage or injury.
  11. Very seldom is wade fishing good on the lake, just not enough open area for back-casting on Beaver Lake, It is pretty much a boat lake unfortunately. I know of guys who do it below Ten-killer from shore but they say the areas from the bank is limited for it. You really need a Boat! Springtime on Beaver Lake is a excellent time to look for top water.
  12. Hickory Creek if you launch at the private ramp is $3.00 per day, Prairie Creek if you have an ACE Pass is free and the best of all the ramps. Monte Ne is a decent ramp but watch out for Rocks on the ramp. Getting deep bait with a net is not the most productive they really need to be in less than 3 feet and most of it in the main lake starts at 8 to 10ft and goes deeper. I just looked at the 7day forecast and I would bet the bait moves to the main lake and is in deep water so buying bait would be the smartest move to ensure you have some. Lures when they are in the main lake is always an interesting head scratcher but if you’re going to pull lures pull #7 Flicker Shad in Pearl White or #9 Rapala SR9’s these stripers really want something that looks like a shad. Umbrella rigs work also as do Alabama Rigs. Good Luck
  13. Could have but I haven't thrown one yet, not sure if they will be accessible anytime soon now.
  14. About 4'' it looks like in Rogers
  15. Cheeks and Throats are two different things, the Cheeks are literally that the cheek of the fish best meat on the fish. "throat" is a local vernacular to describe the lower or third cheek of a fish which is actually the upper belly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiH-3UYb-Qc
  16. BA's ??? Bucktails Hook line sinker in Rogers. Be sure to ask for the Cumberland Pro Lures, 3/4 and 1/2oz white and white chartreuse
  17. Yes sir I do remember, It is stories like yours and others is why I do the reports and other things, nothing gives me a bigger kick than seeing people getting in to great fish and the knowledge that I was able to help them in some small way. Each smile is worth the effort. Great looking fish!
  18. Just and FYI the bucktail im throwing is the Cumberland Pro Lures Paryer jig. I have thrown bucktail jigs for as long as I have been fishing and these are far superior to any others I have uses. with a constant retrieve they have a great shad imitating profile and swimming action and when jigged off the bottom they pulsating action giving it a multiuse function.
  19. 45lb striper *46.8 is my best on the lake but no camera as I was wading 18'' crappie no weight taken 21.5'' smallmouth
  20. I was sitting here drinking my coffee and reading the forum and doing some updating of the two sticky threads and realized there has been a ton of Personal Best fish caught the last couple of months and thought it would be nice to have a thread where people can post their Personal best fish from the lake. So here it is Brag Away show the pictures. All species are welcome
  21. Beaver is the toughest lake I ever fished, but once you start paying attention the smallest of details all of the sudden you start seeing patterns based on them. Learning the right birds to follow or the right size bait schools to target and depth or contour it all starts coming together but it takes time and tenacity like a bulldog not letting it frustrate you.
  22. Yup that was us.
  23. Dan the wind yesterday was horrible it put them down deep, myself and yak were out there from noon to dark and only 1 bite. I just got in from a quick moring run and had 1 10lb fish before the wind kicked up. They are there but this wind is making it impossible to target surface fish.
  24. Awe there she is, and your most welcome sir, that wind was brutal yesterday and you did great to get her.
