  1. That is sad news for people on the East end of the lake Jim. Hopefully the situation will change I know many people don't want to make an Hour to hour and a half round trip just for minnows.
  2. Click this one Donna its the main page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
  3. Den if you figured out what im talking about it will. Well I say that but if mother nature decides to throw in a curve then I would be screwed and have to go play the K game also as a backup. It would be so nice if Beaver would allow a pattern to last more than 3 hours.
  4. James I have a theory on the tourney this year if anyone will do it or figure out the math. Total weight 28.75 two days weight. There has been one bite that has been fairly constant I have been on and if someone in the tourney can figure it out fast enough they can do repeat it for at least 22lbs over 2 days and with a couple good culls and one good cull for a kicker the 28 should happen. But my gut tells me people will go play the K game instead.
  5. Shouldn't you be getting ready for EM
  6. I post it each week on the FB Page figured I would try to remember to put it here. the report is based off FISHERMEN and them actually telling me where, what and when. Quiet a few people now contributing which is making it a little easier to cover the lake. I certainly couldn't do it without the help and the people helping are ones I trust so the information helps others catch fish well at least have a chance without wasting time money and gas chasing to location no way are fish in or sending them away from the areas the fish are for selfish reasons.
  7. August 22 2014 School went back in session this week and my condolences to all teachers. The heat turned on as well and with it the lack of fishermen on the lake. Again stripers top the list followed by the white bass. Stripers; Early morning bite is best, from the people reporting in they are all saying be on the water by 4am and be off by 10am latest. Live brooder minnows are working best when you cannot get shad. People have been asking where to get Brooder minnows (aka striper minnows) the only two stores I know of are Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers and Dam Site store near the Dam. These are just grown up crappie / bass minnows. Use light fluorocarbon line 10 and 12lb with a light splits hot 3ft above the bait let out between 30 to 50ft of line and slowly troll or drift with the wind between .5 mph and 1mph, you will want your bait almost straight up and down to 15 degrees with the boat so adjust weight to accommodate that. Best Area to try has shifted the last couple days. Look in the back of Big and Little Clifty, the hump just south of point 4 and areas around point 3 and the damsite camp ground, the heat has forced them closer to the dam. A couple good cold fronts or cold fronts with generation could spark a move back toward Rocky Branch and Prairie Creek so keep that in the back of your head. White Bass; This bite has remained constant all year Horseshoe bend to Prairie Creek. Early and late are best with still some surface action on zara puppy and popr. Little deeper with spoons. The bite time seems to be 6am to 9am and 6pm to 8pm. Also check point 5 to point 6 same pattern and times. Crappie; They are finally on the summer pattern over pole timber and docks with deep structure. Bobby Garlands and crappie minnows are top producers in depth from 20ft to 30ft Walleye; some fish being taken early on harness and spinner rigs in 25 to 40fow, you will need to put a lot of trolling time and miles on the boat to get them. Catfish; Jug, Limb and Trot liners are reporting good action all over the lake with live goldfish and perch. Bass; Again little to no information on bass fishing, I was able to get out earlier this week and managed to get some decent ( up to 3lb ) smallies on an open water bite using jigging spoons and spybait over open water humps close to the channel. Some reports of black bass up river being taken on finesse worms and dd22’s. Good Luck https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
  8. Great place but sure has claimed more than one of my props.
  9. You also need to set it for time period ( new, 24 hours, week, month ) I have mine set at last day 24hr.
  10. Ditto on the sonar units lss ds sss
  11. One thing I should also add is a I also add 20 dozen night crawlers to it and replenish them as required.
  12. Hard to say Nathan doesn't look solid enough for stripers and kinda stringy like a gar possibly or a feeding bass.
  13. The fall bite IMO opinon when it comes to stripers is better than the spring bite by 60%. You get a period between mid September and Late October they typically ball up in Prairie Creek, Avoca and the Islands and are very aggressive feeders. People who hang up the rods are missing out on that bite and making it less crowded. As a waterfowl hunter its great for me. Shoot some birds and catch some fish, to me that is the perfect day.
  14. I just bought Flower and Garden mix and potting soil mix then mixed them together. now I just add feed store bought and fish scraps and mix it up real good. In late spring I try to get a 5 gallon bucket of shad and ground it all up and add to the soil then cover with a tarp for winter.
  15. Below Beaver dam Roaring River Taneycomo Hickory Creek Those are all much closer than the drive to the LR
  16. JD, to keep critters out I just put in fence post ( chain link style ) then took bird netting and made a fence with it, its cheap and effective.
  17. You need a Dr's note to use a crossbow in Mo Marty unless they changed the regs. There are tons of good ones on the market many with the accuracy of a rifle and scopes to go with it.
  18. good lord im a rich man then because im picking 2 quarts of cherrys a week and around 10 to 12 goliaths and another 8 to 12 beefsteak. Ive ate or canned probably 3 gallons of green beans and more in the ground. And I never get tired of eating maters lol. do need to figure out a better way to do asparagus next year mine just didn't do well this time.
  19. very nice eyeman.
  20. Well I finished building the water system and checking it, works great for 100% coverage of the garden, I am about to pick the maters still plenty of green ones on it and growing. I did finish planting all the fall veggies not a bad mornings work. Out are the Banana Peppers 4 types of Bell Peppers, Jalapeno's, Green Beans, Anaheim and Okra. In is Green Beans, Leeks, Onions, Garlic, 2 types of Carrots, Radish, Broccoli 3 types of lettuce. Cleaned and geowing again Overview 1 Overview 2 Watering overview Watering close up Couple of the watermelons
  21. Pulled all but two of my peppers and im still pruning the maters, I swear pruning them keeps them producing well in to September. Put the fall Beans, Carrots, Onions, Leeks and Garlic. Watermelon is going insane 8 nice ones forming from the size of a nerf football to a nfl football. Started building more raised beds for next year and im going to put in an overhead sprinkler system.
  22. Simple mono line ran to a float.
  23. Ive been doing it for over 20 years Mitch and have lost very few fish to break off's. Putting every advantage toward the fish is fair chase to me as it requires my skills to be up to the task even for tarpon I never went over 30lb class lines though my leaders were heavier funny thing is I have never seen a fish floating with a lure in its mouth. I did mentions about the negative aspects in the heat and that is an anglers choice. But I have never seen the reasoning for an angler pitching 65lb braid and yanking a bass out of cover so hard the fish goes airborne. But to each his own.
