  1. Well don't tell him them you know that old coot cant find this forum lol. In that case Whites are at 12 bridge, try spoons and crappie jigs Stripers are point 4 to point 6 and very easy to find just look for them busting the surface 20lb stripers can be seen a long way off. Brooder minnows are the easiest bait right now but I would have something for top water tied on. Or at very least a big bucktail for distance casting.
  2. Taneycomo would be my #1 pick especially for bank anglers, Roaring River #2. If you go to Taney go to Lilleys Landing and ask what to use and then head up to the hatchery and fish from below the dam downstream If you go to Roaring river stop off at Tims Fly and ask Tim. If there was any for sure bites in the Ozarks for land based fishermen those would be my two choices.
  3. Fords creek is showing life top water and drop shot. Also some action in the White River arm both of these are Bass Zones... Smallmouth are doing good from Rocky Branch to Starky but beware this is also the zone for BIG stripers and hybrids... White bass just go to 12 bridge they have been there all year for some reason. Also got some reports of crappie around Monte Ne. This is a tough time of year typically if you look back through the old post. By the end of September things should be much better. These fish are not Texas bass and will give you fits average being 2 to 4lbs and a real big one is 6lbs. I hate to say it but NED RIG would be my bait of choice for bass until you learn the lake.
  4. I don't know whats going on this year with stripers but im not going to complain, surface action on 20lb fish is never a bad thing and besides they are pretty tasty viddles. What general area did you see yours Terry.
  5. Terry, there is no excuses for not fishing, you want to get out I got a seat in my boat for you and I would bet a few others would do it, its and addiction we must contribute to lol.
  6. Maybe 5 minutes
  7. I am not a mac guy... But if you send me the picture in a PM I might be able to convert it for you.... a picture should have a name like JOESFISH dot JPG JOESFISH.JPG Changing the size can be done with a picture editor, you go to the editor and change the picture size to ( for instance) 640 x 480 pxls... I use either photobucket, facebook to simply upload them here
  8. I think the walleye need to worry more about a few of us then they do the stripers Terry lol. Especially you, your on a role as of late my hats off to you.
  9. I did it years ago playing around with a crappie tube.. I did ties a clouser that was oversized then slipped a tube up as far as I could then pulled tube forward and added some deer hair under where the tube whould lay. it gave it good body girth and natural feel... Hope that made since. It worked great on stocked rainbows.
  10. Docs was rigged 3oz eggsinker 4 ft of leader 2/0 circle hook 30 ft down... Mine was rigged 1/8thoz split shot above the 2/0 circle hook 30ft down. movement was drifting to just barely moving with the trolling motor only enough to have some forward movement. It was pretty much glass calm so I wanted to go as slow as possible. We were marking the fish and when we did I killed the motor which was just set as low as I can go.
  11. Not in Noel area amigo, My guess is you will need to go back to Bentonville to see the game.
  12. No more details on the encounter from my part I wont stoop to the same level unless forced to and then in defense only so its dropped as far as I am concerned. As to the question if they were whites or hybrids, absolutely NOT these were big class fish 20lb pounds and working over a school of large shad pretty good, We have a video but not the best and will post it after docs trip as it shows the area way to obviously. Method was simple, brooder minnows 2ft below a split shot on 12lb floro 30ft deep max.
  13. Hanging my head in shame he out fished me, he caught 2 fish and I only caught one... and NO THERE WAS NO BANANA under his seat as he did catch two fish
  14. Change png file to jpg
  15. LOL. try 69 for that bait... guys cry about loosing an A-rig you do more than cry when you loose one of them. You could troll them also
  16. Storm thinfin will do what you want without having to alter the bait. Early spring when they eyes are shallow I use them to run 3 to 7fow
  17. AC Plug Castaic Trout / baits Zplug If you are chasing stripers those are the ones I would be looking at. You think the A-rig will give you a workout try throwing the a 14 inch AC plug all day, But they work.
  18. Terry; You need a bigger stick Teddy wouldn't be happy lol. I really don't worry about posting Doc jumps on me all the time about it but truthfully what I said earlier holds true about 10% catching 90% not. The devil is in the details and I learned many people just wont put the time in to become the devil lol. They go out and think just because they are there they should catch them and I have had people tell me they did what I said to and didn't and if asked there is always something they didn't do. Im just glad your posting and showing people its possible if they would put in the time and effort. Anyone can get lucky and put 1 even 2 in the boat but putting limits in is due to putting in the hard work.
  19. Very Very true,
  20. Honestly I never worry about posting the boat or where and how... 90% of people cant or wont duplicate it and the 10% that do probably would anyway. Only bad thing is people following you on occasion or Somali Pirates.
  21. Very nice haul the 24 dwarfs the others
  22. The walleye, whites and crappie actually have very predictable seasonal areas you can get them year after year. When you learn them its pretty simple to catch them. This however is a weird year no reasoning to it. Typically 12 bridge is a dead zone from July to October but this year it has produced all year and a WTH moment is why are whites still in good numbers at point 12? On years like this you take what the fish gods throw at you and scratch your head each day.
  23. to be truthful the best way of finding them on Beaver Lake is look for all the guide boats, that is the best clue as those guys are on them every day. If I was going out no knowledge I would simply look for them and then start fishing that zone giving the guides respect but fish the area.
  24. When I call you and give you the info I did yesterday should be enough lol.... Info was simple when I see a group leave and come back 3 hours later with a limit of stripers I call that evidence. Point 5 apparently is the hot ticket right now.
  25. First thing I do is shut the big motor off well in advance of coming up to the school, nothing puts surfacing fish off like some joker running full blast in to them. Then I fire off the long range bait ( pencil popper ) work it till they are within casting distance of a bucktail and then go to a small swim bait and if all else fails live bait or a popping cork. Finally if all that fail I cuss and look for the next school.
