  1. Sounds like someone got in to fish and someone sent someone torture text knowing he was working lol. Good Job and better you than me in this heat.
  2. PC this time of year can be hard to figure out on them there is a few closely guards spots that hold them and other areas that wont. Part of the major problem is just the pure amount of fish especially white bass in the area. When an area I loaded with fish I try to find the edge to a little ways from it ( especially if cats are biting ) andyou will normally find the eyes on edges. This year is insane though I had reports all day of BIG Whites at point 12 even and all the way down to PC and some reports of medium size stripers in the HSB area. Everyone is saying how insane this year is and some big bass even being caught in numbers.
  3. It was only a matter of time before it happened.
  4. I to have found it accurate as well and with personal mapping extremely accurate.
  5. <--------------------- Stays at Home, Lodges or Motels. Sleep on a bed and a shower / bath as one ages means more than rowdy camp neighbors and bugs or cold.
  6. When I lived in FL my idea of a Power Pole was ME or my buddy as we jabbed the push pole in the ground and either hung on or roped off... It did become a super Power Pole on occasion and you had better hope the one using it and made sure to point you up wind of him, unfortunately they didn't have outhouse mounts back then.
  7. Hey don't be dissing on Powerpole crowd they are to Bass fishing what Hoodies are to Waterfowl Hunting. You have to have them and a crew or you aint cool.
  8. These are boat rules I use. 1. Lakes 20 minute 2. Rivers 10 minutes These are from shore 1. Lakes 30 minutes 2. Rivers 20 minutes If a catfish is near that is plenty of time for them to find the bait in each setting, typically you should have a bite within the first 5 to 10 minutes. One of the best catfishermen around would surprise most but it is Bill Dance and he has written many articles in the past on it. Search them out and listen or read and learn that man has forgot more about catfishing than most people will ever think of.
  9. Yup reminded me of FL as well but it forgot not to rain on the other side of the street. Only people from FL would get that
  10. I'll stick to my XPS spoons they are cheaper and work great
  11. That reminds me a lot of AHM for waterfowl. If im reading it right A lake with high recruitment, moderate growth, low mortality would be a candidate for a slot program. Where a lake with fast growth and low recruitment would be a size limit lake. Id that correct? And if so how do you manage to determine what type of creel is needed for each species with say spots, lmb and smb all in the same lake? Is each species separated to AHM Strata or are they lumped together?
  12. States can and do wave the slot for C&R Tourneys. just like the Toyota big bass on Lake Fork the allowed one over the slot to be brought in. I DO NOT see an issue with it if the state will waiver it and just give the tourney guys a card to show wardens if stopped to keep the potential non-tourney guys from trying it during the tourney times.
  13. Its only 5 minutes for me lol
  14. Very neat info. I must say I really appreciate the AGFC reps that come and post here you guys can sure help with many questions and topics Thanks a Bunch
  15. Almost makes me want to go hit Monte Ne this evening.
  16. Wouldn't it be a smart idea then to put a slot on the ( no keeper size ) say 15 to 20 inches ( C&R tournaments exempt ) and only 1 fish may be over 20'' be a better option than just a 12'' or 15'' minimum size? It would protect the valuable breeders while allowing people to harvest smaller fish and still the opportunity for a trophy, though to me with mount tech the way it is now I see no reason to keep a trophy anymore.
  17. I'm going to be the voice of unreason now... Didn't we Pay for them to be built? Are they not funded now by tax dollars? Didn't they shut us out for no reason earlier this year. Had to say it before someone else did
  18. Teach you to launch at Twin during the run lol. I think every GW in the state converges there for the white run
  19. Jeremy, What would you like to see be the prime fish to keep size wise for fisheries management and health of the population when it comes to bass? I don’t like bass but I know some might be wanting a meal and it would be nice to hear from you what would be the best to keep for the resource.
  20. He isn't... He bought an HDS 12 so he could play angry birds.
  21. Yes sir I have many times. Tie your knot to the spool just like you would any other reel. Then move the line to one of the sides and wrap the tape to the desired thickness. When you get to the end move the line to the center of the tape and put your final piece over the line. Start spooling and your done.
  22. I just want to be clear I have been checked hunting and my bet is they are not checking me because they have seen I stay legal and they do see my license when they have checked me hunting. My bet is a simple Bino check on the boat and running the numbers they can verify if the person probably has a license by seeing who it is registered to and then cross check against AGFC Data on their computer. AGFC that is and knowing more than a few wardens over the years they have ways of checking without checking in person. I know a Fed who does exactly that based off Truck tags, then watches the person or group for awhile and if nothing is suspicious he typically wont do anything more than a limit check if he is still around when they finish. After a while he knows who is who of the regulars and often goes out and just shoots the breeze with people. You know he is there you know he is doing his job but he seldom bothers anyone without cause. Wardens are a special kind of sneaky and most are very courteous to people and helpful.
