  1. I told you it blacked out my graph in several places. If the water warms up and the bait stays put by April it will be a striper-fest in the area like two years ago. Hey might actually get you on the big class finally, that is one of my goals this year to put you on the big stripers on light line.
  2. Nice pile. You need to invest in silosocks to draw in the snows. NOT near the meat that the honkers have but mighty tasty none the less.
  3. Soy Marty, I think I know where it was getting them. Its me third biggest goose and I was excited, dam its funny I still get excited about a goose but the thing was huge and the fillets are thick. Now if I can figure out how to get close to the mallard sized ones ive been wanting one of them for a wall hanger for a while.
  4. LOL, Man that thing must of stunk, did it attract catfishermen?
  5. Jerry that bait brings back a lot of memories to me when I was a kid on our duck clubs ponds. Hard to beat them
  6. Not a resident Duane its the biggest ive seen all year on the lake. massive fat layer on it as well and I opened the gut it was full of beans. I did find a bunch of Mallard size honker later and they will meet me very soon. I don't know what it is about the little geese but I like them.
  7. Wind = HOWLING 20mph and better Temp = 45 to 50 water temp 40 to 42 Bait = ALL OVER THE DAM PLACE Fish = Full belly's Real simple report Launched at Prairie Creek in to the Hurricane and instantly marked bait and not just a little bait but the kind that blacks out your unit. There are certainly fish on it but they are full, I did manage 5 whites and a couple small Kentucky's in 6 hours of fishing. And I killed to loud noisy pest who were annoying me. How dare they interrupt my peace and quiet. Anyway here are some of the screen shots from today. CHECK OUT THE FISH ARCHING IN THE FOOD SOMETHING BIG WAS HANGING AROUND SIDESCANN THE NOISE MAKERS
  8. I cleaned out the boat and changed it over to fishing mode but left the gun in the boat. So here I was minding my own business trying to catch some stripers ( found them and massive balls of bait ) and these two loud noise makers come interrupting my peace and quiet so I killed them. The monster had my attention when I lifted it Im use to picking up 12 to 14lb birds but this one felt a lot heavier so I weighed it in.
  9. RPS did a great job on explaining a simple rig. There is another I would like to give you as well BUT YOU WILL loose more weights but salvage more rigs. About 2ft up from the bottom of your line tie on a three-way swivel. Add 2 feet for the hook lines and take the weight end and tie it on and then tie on a rubber-band to it with a loop knot, attach the rubber band and the weight to it. The rubber-band acts as a shock absorber but also when hung up you can lift your rod fast and snap it back down and then up and many times it will pull it out of the snag if you do break off it will just be the rubber-band and weight saving the remaining rig.
  10. On the jerkbaits Middle color is real good the gold color below it needs to have some black added to the back. You and I need to talk I have some colors that will remain top secret that produce monster bass.
  11. Hey that color looks very much like one of my favorite Keitech colors.
  12. There was no sheet changing or anything wet about it, Not once did I stop to go weewee and never fell out of the boat.
  13. Hey resemble that remark.
  14. Ron this was a great year numbers wise for me, but I hunt 4 states what took the wind out of my sails was I love hunting late season on Beaver for Divers and they have all decided to leave combined with Benton County not knowing how to take care of the roads combined with pinching that dam sciatic nerve earlier this year has made it a painful season. There is still some good hunting in Mo and I was in OK for a job today and saw plenty of birds but pain is no fun. I might go for a few snowgoose hunts during the Conservation Order for some Jerky makings. Waterfowling is a passion and obsession. I was more impressed with certain species numbers this year Pintail and Canvasbacks, it was so nice to see them which means to me they are coming back great. I actually spend more time on the camera shooting then gun. If I went blind and couldn't shoot I would still bug someone to take me with them just so I could be out there and call at them.
  15. Ron, I actually put all the hunting gear up last week, Keeping the gun in the boat incase of stupid geese or ducks but im done. The birds moved out of this area.
  16. dig lick? I have a text that could be inserted here about someone having an extension to a certain thing to support his massive two riggers in front of his consul BUT if I posted it Joe would need diapers from laughing so hard.
  17. LOL, ya Jason, she never makes a sound but made her point known. Gregg I actually do it more than you would imagine I get easily distracted by top-water action, its the old Saltwater fisherman in me I just cant pass it up no matter what.
  18. Bill, I remember growing up around the Salton Sea the old guys Had a Giant Barometer on the wall. They would play pinochle until it started to fall and then it was like a fire alarm went off as the game stopped and they fished. Persimmons had spoon this year and that means hard winter with snowfall and BINGO we got it. I have a weather stick and its far more accurate than the weathermen on tv In Florida if the Brazilian peppers are in bloom the snook will be biting (and a a bunch of young birds will be drunk, through that in for Justin he knows what I mean ) The old tail are I find more the best way to gauge weather and fishing patterns than any computer generated chart or book.
  19. Man I hope so.
  20. I was interrupted I had plans to make Rocky Branch.
  21. What a great day on the lake, Started out at Hickory creek and caught 4 big 5lb largemouths right off the bat on Keitechs, the bite slowed down so I started trolling down river and caught a walleye on the first point that went 30’’ and right after that a beautiful striper in the 40lb class. As I motored on down toward Montne I picked up a few more nice 25 inch walleye and 3 more stripers. Just before the mouth of Montne I got in a wide open white bass bite on Pop R’s must have caught 60 of them in an hour and a half. The day was just so perfect a little cool but fish biting. I turned the corner to go in to montne and marked a nice ball of what looked like crappie so I dropped a few jigs down on them and caught 2 on the double dropper and while I was reeling them in the other pole was doubled over two more came up on it. Getting back toward the back I saw shad being blown up on it turned out to be a large school of Kentuckys having their way with them I managed to get 10 of them averaging 2 pounds each. I turned around and saw massive striper boils busting shad and just as I turned around my dog licked my face and woke me up at 4am to let her out to do her business. Damit couldn’t she have waited another 30 minutes at least!
  22. I know we are off topic a bit but its true about relationships, I have had a couple ruined by my love for fishing and hunting but I think of it a different way. Those were not meant to be anyway, how could you be happy if your spouse was jealous of what your passion was? My wife is a keeper for certain, she has laid out in cold mud hunting geese with me stood in frozen lakes hunting ducks and can catch stripers like a champion. Our Wedding day me and my brother went hunting that morning one of our most cherished pictures from the wedding was the picture of her hand and mine with the rings on at the table cake in the background. Apparently I didn't get all the blood off my hand from the birds that morning when I showered. You can still see the blood around my finger nails and webbing of my thumb and forefinger. It was a limit hunt fast she was upset she missed it. That to me is a Keeper wife in any book. And her Idea to get married during hunting season so we could spend our anniversary hunting together.
  23. Keitech swing impact sexy shad #426 Flicker shad is my fish finder the keitech is the fish catcher. Walleye, Striper and Bass it catches fish after the flicker locates the biters. The keitech is very versatile it can be A-rigged, Jigged, stand alone swim bait, Carolina or Texas rigged etc it offers the ability to do a lot. Now crappie its the flicker shad. But all around favorite is the Swing Impact.
  24. Walleye love pink, I bet that's what he is using to catch those walleye. JOE is using stripper poles painted pink with body glitter to get fish with Big Bulging eyes.
  25. Hey I was young, cant say stupid the new job paid better and the new boss had access to high quality cigars and liked to hunt and fish.
