Bad timing on the Game and Fish Season, We really need the full moon period to be the kickoff of teal season. But I am not complaining I have scratched out 24 so far but hunted almost every day so not the best averages or season but still got the rust off and had great company which makes it a great opening. KS Duck opens Oct 5th so its going be a very long season for me.

Beaver is simple Ive wrote several things about them and where and when. Right now they are at the dam, Lake is turning over right now so within a week they will be at point 6 and rocky branch 2 weeks coppermine and 3 weeks Prairie creek area. If the shad get in Prairie Creek and Avoca they ( the stripers ) will be there all winter. is the short version. But also from there all the way up to war eagle. not hard finding them at all normally 10 to 20 boats on the schools plus the birds will be here soon to follow.

No way its a Copperhead, even in shed their scale pattern is very obvious and their pattern is very distinct. Hognose crossed my mind but it would have to be a western and that is the wrong place for them, Eastern yes but they are a dark snake even as neonates.

Al, in those smaller sections you mention one potential reason is just that, they limit the ability of not only the Gigger but also the birds of prey, If it is heavily canopied then Raptors would have a difficult time making a hit in the area, possibly for a heron to walk up but not as likely as an open area. As to depth the raptors can get, I am certain you have seen the videos and probably in life. An Eagle can get about 2 to 3 maximum however an Osprey can get a little deeper but probably not more than 4 feet. There are some other birds left out. Cormorants are a winter visitor as are Loons both have the capability of going very deep. Not the most likely suspects but potential ones. Otters I actually don't even consider as possible I have watched them hunt and when they get serious they do not miss often, one of the best fish catching machines on the planet IMO. And the few fish that escape an otter attack are not going to survive long. Another explanation is possibly novice/newbie giggers making bad identification they hit the fish because of lack of experience and just scar it or if they make connection and get it up relies they hit the wrong species and release it. I cant tell you how many novice duck hunters I have taken out that have raised on Grebes or Cormorants I had to call off before they shot. The true Poacher numbers I would bet are very low. Yes it only takes a few to do damage but legal fishermen keeping many legal fish will do far more damage tack on the many other factors facing the streams and it is amazing there is fish left in them.

I have had this conversation before, my personal belief is we will see a revolution of sorts and their will be blood. The blood will be minimal and confined to Politicians on the Federal level as any good revolutionary knows you need to cut the head off the problem. There will also be some minor death toll in the streets of large cities when the typical rioting starts up. There will be changes to our constitution but as a whole it will remain in tact. Even in our first Revolution the South maintained it in very much its original form with few alterations. It is the best document written and the new government will use it with slight modifications. I believe it will have changes to the Taxation clauses where the People would vote on any new tax! Also it would do away with income taxation! The first Amendment would be altered as to Freedom of press to insist on truthful reporting and religion and government clearly defined. The second Ammendment would also be clearly defined. I think we would see this done in the addition of a few new amendments certainly ones designed for term limits and balanced budgets. The constitution does not need much change and if it wasn't for Lawyers and Judges "opinions" and "twisting's" of it the document would be as good today as it was when it was signed. It truly only needs to have some minor changes to it to restore it to what it was written to mean. The sad thing is it was written so perfectly it is easy to read and understand it is only the twisting of lawyers and politicians and judges who are less than blind that has damaged the integrity of the document. If this revolution was to happen today I believe an interim government would be quickly set-up and most likely Rand Paul would be the President as he seems to be viewed from many from all parties and someone who cares about the country. Americans as a whole despite the media and what politicians say are not that divided and want solid leadership and people who will look after the country. Paul has shown that quality better than most. Even starch democrat friends of mine are thinking of voting for him if he runs and that blew me away when they told me.

That area could hold most the suspects. I have found cottonmouths way away from water many times and hognose in heavy rock areas, the guides are just that a guide but by no means the gospel. Just don't pick up a rattler I know more than a few people who tried to play steve Irwin and paid for it.

The one I keep leaning toward most is a Western Pigmy Rattler, the patterning is correct for it and if as it appears it is in shed would account for dullness and enability to see the dorsal coloration. Side pattern is also correct as is coloration, No rattles visable is not out of the question my biggest had a habit of breaking off rattles most she ever had was 4 and this was a girl kept in captivity. Its driving me nuts as I have the gut instinct it is and cant prove it and I kept and bread and worked with litteraly thousands of Pigmys. I want to see the entire snake damit!!! lol

Wayne putting aside everything related to NCAA rules or evenother players,I have given the subject a lot of thought and even some research. Not just for JFF but others and in my opinion I would say he would make probably $150,000.00 a years if paid by a College ( That is a guess and no way to even guess be cause it has never happened NCAA stuff ) However based on others in his age that have gone pro in other sports in Pay and Endorsements Easily he would be worth and making Millions. Tiger for example made 2, million at 21 PGA winnings and lord knows how much on endorsements. MJ made 550,000.00 his first year in the NBA and endorsements came fast to him. It would not be far off to think if the NFL rules were not in place JFF could be pro and making several million there easily and as he is very popular and or a hot commodity right now endorsement deals in the millions of dollars as well. There are few other players who could be making million dollar checks if they were able to be pro or did not have NCAA rules pinned on them.

Al, you already listed some of the possibilities no need for me to repeat them.I have seen bass and other species in winter plenty shallow for a hit from a bird and winter is when we have the largest population of eagles. I am not saying they are always the case but seems you are trying to reason they wouldn't and we both know they can and do. I spear fished and even gave gigging a try and still on occasion use archery tackle mostly in salt water and am very familiar with what each type of wound looks like. But also seen wounds I cannot identify that could have been from a number of sources INCLUDING gigging. My point was and still is when people let emotions get involved they may see something that's not there in something that is completely innocent.

Neonates have different coloration than adults depending on environmental factors, I have had Timbers that were so light and missing markings no book would ID them same for Pigmys. Also temperature has a large effect on young. Aberrant patterns were actually a fad for a while and it only took a little manipulation by the breeder in temperature during incubation both on egg bearing and live bearing to create it. We had some Egyptian Cobras come in gravid (pregnant) that dropped out some very interesting pattern in the young ( striping ) a typical neonate is just plain brownish yellow some with speckling but these were beautifully patterned. Lots of factors on young snakes, I do wish I still had all my pictures of the ones I breed to show how many different variations are possible.

Your thread was spot on and needed NO DOUBT... But i am n ot talking about that type of post. I am talking about the guy who gets on here and says he saw a guy the night before or weekend poaching. That is pure and simple stupid as it alerts the poachers he saw them and turned them in and the chance for them to formulate an excuse or not go there. You had a bonehead who was stupid enough to post pictures of his own illegal activity. That kind of post like you did was smart and correct. But to tell poachers you saw them and reported it is stupid... Like i said tell everyone after they are busted, but also beware they have friends that is why i like the annonymous reporting best, some poachers you may catch but their buddy may catch you one night all alone on a creek. You are dealing with criminals and some of them are more than just poachers.

OP, You bring up a point I see more and more about people going abroad. It is a shame that you can go to many websites like this that have forums and see so many of our fellow countrymen and women so frustrated and uncertain of the future. Yet all of them posting out Ideas that may not be perfect but in talking can find common ground and want to fix it. The number one theme of all of them is lack of any beleif our politicians can fix it or even want to. The American people are crying inside because our problems are not to great to fix but seems hopless with more and more dependent on entitlements and those entitlements are what has lead to the destruction. People I feel would work if they could but how do you create jobs in this country when cost is better in others? Our business's are heavily taxed and so are the People some to the point they shut their doors and others to the point they find the entitlements are cheaper than going to work for their family. When I think of how much money I have to spend in gas and meals each week just for work combined with taxes on my check I sometimes wonder if I wouldnt be better off staying home. I could never do that and to think that way even makes me sick. But also makes me understand some who do it. Problem with them is now they are a burden on all the rest of us. It just doesnt seem to have an end to the cycle until entitlements are destroyed and something done about taxes.

I have to look at it from the point of view if it is LEGAL than that is the law. Every year heck sometimes monthly we see pictures on here of gig marks or questionable marks said to be gigs. It really starts to get to the point I have to question is it real or is it the poster so emotional about the issue they see gigs that are not there. But the topic of this thread got my smartass streak out. Its not ILLEGAL to gig! And there are so many factors involved in the health of the streams, creeks, rivers the SMB live in gigging is only a small part of the big puzzle. I am with Bird on the true bass issue. 90% of people cannot ID them properly they dont go back in the lake I have seen them in all size classes with gills torn to kill them because bass anglers hate them. What it worse to gig a smallie or to kill a large striper because you dont like them? For me I call both a crime and shame. There are poachers in all aspects of hunting and fishing but to come out and say its "Poaching Season" offends me and every law abiding sportsmen or should and certainly will win not 1 single gigger over to the side of the arguement. The only way to stop it is to get as much evidence of illegal activity, turn it over to the law keep your fingers from typing you saw it ( because i can promise people read these boards ) and they will avoid places named. When a bust is made by all means post it but not while a ongoing investigation might be going on. You do then you are aiding in destroying the smallmouth you are trying to protect as now the poachers know stay clear of that area for awhile and move on to another creek to do it as the law is on the first creek.

I would bet against timber rattler. No Dorsal stripe common to them, and the scale pattern appears off. Snake also appears to be in shed which isnt helping. Possible suspects are. Great Plains Kingsnake Prairie Kingsnake possibly a Pygmy Rattler looks like a young snake and if that is the case it could be a neonate timber. But no possible way to tell from the picture for certain.

On a year by year NO WAY could Boise hang in some of the better conferences, but you have to take each team in what they are. Part of the big problem with so dam many D1 teams. I have said it for years and yes i know it wont happen but we need to get down to 16 or so in D1 that is all there really is in contention unless we want to add a few more Bowls, I am sure Viagra, Tampex and Trojan could put up some money. Be funny to see the Trojans v Red Raiders in the Trojan Bowl. If you look at it these teams always seem to be in contention. 1. Alabama 2. LSU 3. ATM 4. Wisconsin 5. USC 6.UCLA 7.STANFORD 8.Michigan 9. FLORIDA 10. FLORIDA STATE 11. AUBURN 12. IOWA 13 ARKANSAS 14. OU 15. Virginia Tech 16. Oregon Those would be the top 16 maybe throw in 4 more of your choice that are honorable mention but really those 16 are D1 in my opinion and have the chance each year to win any given game they would play. Honorable mention would go to; 1. UCLA 2. Stanford 3. OSU 4. Ill Even at 20 teams we could have a good season with playoffs for a NC. But would need to get away from any type of automatic births which is BS even today. Money talks simple as that and 35 bowls already and more planned is just stupid and if it wasnt for money wouldnt happen.

OP, just for the record I actually look at all sources I can, I'm actually fed-up with all the parties and the lies they spew, and even less believing of the media. It is kind of like the (unemployment numbers) the Fed says 7% roughly depending on how someone farted that morning but if you look at the true facts and numbers it is someplace between 13 and 17%. They all like to throw out numbers and my above post was the best ability I could make at trying to sifter out what I was reading from many reports. Now for the record ( Bamy-phone) was sarcasm. I will say to Chief I was a military brat lived in those "hud houses aka base housing" and It was a good life and living and know many people doing it today. There is a GIANT difference between our Military personnel who know full well what they will get and the entitlement leaches. No base housing is not glamorous it is the basics and our Military does not complain nor do those areas become crime infested. OP I understand the insurance industry all to well, deal with it and them everyday. I ALSO KNOW that for the exact same Insurance my wife and I have had for the last 4 years it is going up almost 100% and ONLY one thing has changed and that is Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare! This is not a unknown it is a FACT! What still bothers me every day about it is they ( democrats including the POTUS) SAID REPEATEDLY "IT IS NOT A TAX" well the SCOTUS said it was and that is the only reason we have it as a law now! Largest tax increase in US History! Just wait till next year when everyone ( well everyone Obama hasn't exempted) finds out the out of pocket expense.
