None that I know of that specifically target Walley, JT's Crappie might be your best bet as most the others target stripers.

Jeb, there are walleye in in the shallows chasing minnows but they sure wouldnt hit anything I was throwing, It drove me nuts I could see them but they wouldnt even hit the flies on 2lb floro.

Special Area Fishing Regulations Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailShare on pinterest_shareMore Sharing Services0 Most public fishing areas have methods, seasons, limits or other fishing regulations that are different from the statewide rules. These special regulations are posted at the areas. It is your responsibility to know what regulations apply to the waters you are fishing. Please refer to area brochures, signs and bulletin boards before fishing these waters. Special regulations on large reservoirs, rivers, streams and trout areas are summarized below. Special regulations also apply to the tributaries of some large reservoirs. These rules are listed under the name of the lake or stream. Statewide regulations apply unless otherwise indicated below. I started out at Beaver shores trolling and it only took 2 passes 1 in 15fow and one in 22fow to figure out the fish and bait were gone, I ran over to the islands at 12 bridge and again lack o d bait situation, on to Rocky Branch... Anyone want to fill a cooler with some nice 1 to 2 pound whites go to The back ramp of Rocky Branch and start trolling in 12fow and head to the west shore out to 25fow it wont take long I put 33 in the boat before i had got board ( all released ). I headed back to the islands at 12 bridge and decided to troll the bluffs from 12 bridge to Prairie creek, A smart move caught a bunch of nice crappie ( they really are gods gift to a pan) a coupe legal and a bunch of short walleye, Black bass to 5lbs a few Kentucks but my Best of the day was an 18'' Smallie that thought he was Marlin, Never seen a smallie jump and tail walk so much and on 4lb test it was a ton of fun. Trolling baits were Flicker shad Casting baits were Keitechs in purple and in white BTW HLS Rogers has some of the new larger Flicker Shad and they work great, 10lb flouro trolled 100ft back easily gets them into 22fow ticking the bottom. There is a lot of bait along those bluffs mark it and back off, throw the lure toward the banks and slow crawl it on the bottom seems to be the ticket I would guess I had in a 5 fish bass limits near 18lbs possibly 20 3 of the blacks were easy 5lbs and all full of shad. Anyway No way I wasnt taking a picture of the smallie so here it is.

Probably drum I have seen a couple in the lake.

Beaver I took Bills words to heart about TR. ( when he says she wont play well with other ) I will go play with a nicer lady. Beside the crappie bite has been great and God did make them the perfect size and shape for a pan.

Justcurious any of you fishing cuts with large flats surrounding them seems to have been my ticket lately, 15fow in the cut but must have flats around them.

Follow The Birds To The Fish.
Feathers and Fins replied to Clayton Will's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
Here is a fun story about Pelicans and Seagulls, The guys on the Piers in Cali and Florida whould put a squid on the rail of the pier and let the birds grab it and fly off ( no weight hook hidden well inside ) they would let the line spool out untill the bait was about where they wanted it then flip then just flick the rod pulling the bait enough to make the bird drop it. Great way to get bait out to where the fish were and creative. In the Ocean you would be suprised how many guys will go sit 3 miles off the Beach and turn on the radar and scan for birds, a concentrated blip and all the sudden it looked like a PT Boat attack from ww2 movies. -

I actually ignore Pelicans and Seagulls, You want to concentrate on Tearns, those are the ones in freshwater that will be on active fish. Pelicans tend to fly till they see bait then power dive into it, Seagulls will pick off left overs floating but typically its after a feeding has happened. Terns on the other hand are right there in the middle of things and will stay above the balled bait being pushed by fish from below. Also you have to know how the birds act, if you just see them milling around dipping from time to time they are taking oppertunity of stupid baitfish near the surface normally they will be attacking wit hthe sun behind them so its an out of the sun attack. This is usually a few birds just flying around. When you see larger groups diving in one are from all direction into a single point of attack you will know there is actively feeding fish below them because it is those fish pushing the bait into a tight ball and the birds attacking it. But its the terns that are the best indication in freshwater of very active fish, -

Wrench i 100% disagree with you, I even posted it last year on here about following the birds on Beaver to catch stripers, I have done it for years From Cali to Florida, You have to know which birds to follow. Following birds ( the right ones ) can produce an exciting day of fishing. When the shad are everyplace the birds will show you which school is being preyed on by aggressive feeding fish from crappie to stripers. -
Commercial Leaders - Do You Use Them?
Feathers and Fins replied to Jack Jones's topic in General Flyfishing Topics
Always make my own leaders from flyfishing to shark fishing, I love doing it and I trust my abilities. My favorite leader to make was a Ballyhoo rig, I think because of the preperation of the bait and leader and always did it Friday nights with a great friend while we had Snow Crab and Steak with all the trimmings. -
LOL Oh dear Pot have you met your cousin the Kettle

Im partake in a forum about politics on occassion, It normally turns to Democrat bashing or Republican Bashing blah blah blah same ole same ole... I like the talks here much more civil and adult. Its nice to talk about them knowing the people here would share a creek or lake togeather and treat eachother that way. A political forum might be nice to try out. Or maybe just Current events for discusssion forum where you can talk about current events including politics as it seems most political talk comes from current events. -
Tough one but if he has shot on your property and damaged property it is time to file the report. Good neighbor policy is over now its life or death! What if you or a family member is out there next time he decided to rack off a clip? Knowing where your bullets fly is more important than anything else and not following the basic firearms safety makes me furious. File the report and follow through with it. He might end up loosing the guns but is he really the kind of person who should have them if he is damaging others property and possibly putting others life at risk because of his neglegent attitude.

Thats what makes me mad Justin, these are NOT rocket science issues. How hard is it to say ( Lets use this area for instance) Arkansas and Missouris Border area is growing fast, So we can forsee that Hwy's 412 cannot support the flow of traffic they could 20 years ago, we need to widen Hwy 412 from Fayetteville to Hwy 65 in Harrison and straighten it. And widen HWY 65 from Harrison to Conway. It will take 5 years and create 5000 jobs during that period, Then a smart Politician and Planner see that continueing HWY 412 to Memphis 4 lanes would create a new innerstate connecting Tulsa to Memphis and it would take 10 years creating an additional 6thousand jobs. It is not hard to see that would increase Jobs, Decrease the price of shipping and save people money all the way around in the future. That is a simple simple one to see. Yet what stops it is where is the money for the politician? Funding I truly beleive is there if other programs ( non-beneifical ) to the entire populous are stopped like BIG BIRD!
-
Justin; I guess im diffrent in the fact that I beleive the Goverment needs to STOP spending money on things. Take CRP I firmly beleive that our goverment needs to stop funding this program. Let conservation groups in partnership with the states fund it. Take the money the FED spends on it and put it to Road Improvement and construction. CRP doesnt help the general population but a road improvement will create jobs and reduce congestion which saves us money and puts people to work. I aint talking about repaving and putting up $1000 signs saying your tax dollars at work. but actually widening of roads and creating new ones, or hey running electric lines underground which in a major storm would keep the power on and cut down on fires and electricution to people. I catch flack for that from fellow sportsmen because of course they want to protect the ducks, so do I but I am more concerned in seeing my friends working and saving money for my family. I just dont see how a 10 acre track of land in NoDak that is just growing is benifiting friends family and community in a better way than an new road will or having power after a storm etc. CRP IMO is a luxery as is DSL and other sillyness, There are many programs the goverment is involved in that they shouldnt be. The need of the people and betterment of the people are the Federal Goverments job we elected them to do. They have got so big that and powerful they do not care about WE THE PEOPLE.

Wait a minute Justin, You insurance prims were going up a 1000 a year? Let say you have had Insurance for 10 years and yours was going up that amount 10,000 a year in premiums? I aint buying that I aint buying half of that unless you are talking for your employees as part of it. WHICH brings up my next point on Nobama care, When it fully goes into affect employees will be wanting a raise to cover its cost IE MUST HAVE INSURANCE about 4200 a year which means they will want 2.10 an hour raise based on a 40 hour week. Now multiply that by how many employees you have, lets say 10 for a small business 43,000.00 a year. So now tell me how much has Obamacare saved you? I rounded numbers to make it easy, but anyone who thinks that This president or his policies are a good thing need to look long at hard at what the real affects are. Now as to you getting DSL is from this administration seriously you bought that line. Those companies want money and are expanding and not because of this administration.

I would pick up the baits I gave you its what i use and know has been working. Kietechs you can easily stop buy Hook Line and Sinker on your way out and get and the Flickershad. I buy the keitechs by the pound I think lol I am sold on them to the point they are the only soft plastic i have in my box anymore. My trolling gear I have refined to the Flickers and Rapalas. BTW most the crappie I catch are running 12 to 16'' and are on flickershad, berkley really did good with this bait straight out of the box works great. Now if you have a cast net and shad are up CATCH SOME... As to the wife, you must train them not others lol
