  1. Ive never heard of water for dog either, carry it as a matter of carring about my girl when hunting but I would want them to show me the law, Im betting more to that story... As for the rest of it. GOOD its needed bad.
  2. Fun is one thing, Illegal activity is another and should not be permitted or condoned anyplace.... Nothing wrong with at all no one has ever said it. Just not in a manner that adversly affects others or in an illegal manner.
  3. this story is useless without video.... Dam I am going nuts not being able to get out and watch them... Maybe i can con my wife into going to 12 bridge ramp for a few hours saturday so i can watch the crashes and idiots. Stupid Dr';s
  4. LOL. Boat backing try loading too... sorry I just had to laugh at that I know what you mean... I use a Palm Beach line on my boat as I launch alone alot . I can have it launched tied park the truck and be gone in under 5 minutes. Loading is eaven easier if people will just learn you dont need to put the entire trailor under water! Just enough to get the boat on it.
  5. No details if alcohol was involved or anything else.... However it does not take much to understand had they been pying attention the wouldnt have ran into a bluff wall that can be seen a LONG way off. People just do as they see fit on the lakes in a lawless old west style DONT CARE! Could this have been prevented with more law present? I do not know but can some of it be prevented? YES. I really cant beleive people are even condoning the use of drugs and alcohol on the rivers streams and lakes all in the name of a "good time" seriously you see a gig mark on aa smallmouth and blow up or see a poacher and go threw the roof but its ok because they are having a good time to do drugs and drink in public and be disorderly in public or others must move to make way for their behavior. Wonder how much damage to the enviroment they are doing to those smallmouth creeks and rivers? I sure seem to see a lot of trash left in the creeks and rivers durring summer and it aint from fishermen. I see deep pools with all kinds of trash in them and filth and it aint from fishermen. Giggers and poachers are bad but the impact of these ( good time boys and girls ) might in fact be wourse than the giggers and poachers.
  6. And Lakes... This behavior is not just limited to streams, creeks and rivers. How many people need to be killed injured or other by people drinking or doing illegal drugs before action is taken. If its illegal anyplace else then its illegal on water as well. That is not hard to understand. AND this is not just about fishermen ( at least not in my case ) but being able to enjoy the waters safely.
  7. I like this map for comparring years on beaver http://beaver.uslakes.info/Level.asp
  8. http://5newsonline.com/2012/06/27/prairie-creek-boat-crash/
  9. Not suprised to see that.
  10. Shingles will depend on the pitch of your roof 3/12 and above Arch 30 is standard and best bang for your buck, you could of course go with some of the newer synthetic shingles being produced but the cost is high. Underlayment 15lb felt is standard but I would go with Ice and water shield for the underlayment instead ( it really helps stop leaks ). I would get a contractor who can do the energy calcs on your house and advise them you are wanting to close off the gable end vent and go with soffit vents and ridge vent. Next is proper insulation in the attic. Those two things will do a world of good. the radiant barrier I honestly have not seen any differance in attic temp or decking lasting longer. The gap you are talking about is hard when i cant see it. Soffits need to breath so if you sealed them than possibly you did damage to the longevity of the roof. 26g gav is correct for flashing. But again without seeing it all first hand im speculating. When you are taking bids on your roof call your insurance and see if they have anyone they suggest, also be sure to check on their licensing and get a copy of their insurance also make it clear that you want the job done to 2006 IBC and Shingle manufactures specs ( especially the nailing) I see to many roofs not nailed correctly.
  11. According to AGFC Beaver is having good breeding, BUT.... It appears only on high water years.... Solution with that showing is to try and keep the lakes full... OK STOP LAUGHING I know ACE dont care.
  12. I would love to tie into some big walleye like that and dont think 2 months is too much to ask. A picture of one would be great IMO and those two months most fish are biting pretty good anyway so if you need eating target one of them. But I know what your saying.
  13. 1105 if the heat hits and the demand for electricity keep them generating. That would be on par with 06 right now its about a foot loss every 2 weeks and we are at 1116 right now so 20 weeks if current condition continue. I already have seen a few people hit the old road bed at PC good for laughs not like you cant see the buoys or the dang thing. And i know a bunch of rocks that will be exposed soon. But on the flip side Beaver Low = awesome duck hunting if you know where to go
  14. This thread has a reoccurring theme of big fish being harvest durring the spawn time. Why cant our DNR's protect them at that time like they do so many game animals and fish. simply put a 0 limit on the fish in march and april would seem to be smart
  15. Beavers tailwaters holds trout which = cold water. Also it has boat traffice that would make it dangerous. I have seen guys on plane from houseman to beavertown between the two i would not think of it as a nice float trip.
  16. You hit the nail on the head JD, curb and interior beauty is what most people want. I see houses every day being build below code standards. To build a say 2,400sqft home the way it should be build would add around 12 to 16 thousand to building cost. To give you an example of cost of not buidling it right, you see houses with the petra type stone on them and if they are not flashed right to repair it I cant do it without taking down all the stone house wraping it flash it correct. Average cost is about 15 to 17 thousand to do that. The correct flashing done on the original build would be maybe another 800.00. That is insurance pricing not just an off the wall bid price. I would love to see all codes enforced and all states under minimum 2006 IBC. Simple stuff but most builders ( not all )skimp on because they know the inspectors dont care. And I cant tell you how many homes I see build on lousy foundations.
  17. Still around I see and install plenty of them each year, The best system is Ridge Vents in combination with Soffit Vents. I really try and talk people into them. Besides I hate getting a call out to change out motors on attic fans only to have some furry critter with a blade stuck in it.
  18. The white shingles are something I hear a lot. Do they work Not that I can tell. I have been in Attics with all colors on durring summer and they are all scorching hot. Now the houses with ventilation done right you can feel the differance.
  19. OF the answer is so simple MDC doesnt see it... A public statement that project is already showing great progress and the elk are starting to move off and restore the native range, but this has happend so fast they were not able to forsee this type of success so early on and as such will work with the landowners to help in any damage restitution they may cause. If they showed this project to be a genuine success and example of what can be done working togeather I beleive MDC would become a example to the rest of the states dnr services.
  20. If this activity happened at a park, neighborhood street, camp ground, concert event, school function pretty much anypace else the people doing it would at minimum be asked to leave by the POLICE mot likely citation handed out and possibly arrest made. We read about it in the press and see it on tv when it happens. So what makes our lakes, rivers and streams any diffrent than any other public place? Answer that question
  21. So two states working to restore Elk to the Ozark Mountains / there Native range at one time / their state. One of those agencies would be wiling to Eliminate the animals that are doing just exactly that! To me that is not conservation or restoration minded! If the animals are spreading out and establishing themselves they would seem to be doing what animals do. Reminds me of a Movie Line ( Nature will find a way ) Perhaps it needs to be reminded to the Conservation departments. I will support restoration of the animals but when they do what they do then they need to be left alone. Managed through Hunting sure payback to farmers, ranchers and landowners for potential damages done OK. But when you set out to restore a animal then when it starts restoring itself dont just shoot it for being an animal. Why should they be given any less resspect than any other game animal? Sure would be interesting to see MDC going out and killing a deer for going onto joe blows property.... bet that would go over well wit hsportsmen.
  22. Why should people who by your scenerio are first on the river to avoid the partier be forced to move to avoid them? If those partiers are breaking laws they need to be arrested, if enough get busted the word gets out and they go elsewhere or on private property or home.
  23. Yes, cute the blood line and they are fine.
  24. i WANT WHAT THEY ARE DRINKING.... Thats better than anything I got in college!
  25. Yup them are the ones I saw... Almost ALL roofing shingles now are 25 year on up very few 20 yr shingles out there still. My concerns with these were and still are POA, HOA rules which will knock out many areas, Load on roofs, Winter snow kinda blocks the sun, Trees, Hail, maintenance and cost and how are they doing the roof ventilation then there is that alignment issue for the sun. Plus they are not time tested. It sounds more like an experimental project at this point so I would not suggest it for some time. I cant in good faith sell something like them at this time. Neat idea.
