He and I both used just simple 1/2 pvc pipe. Worked great

JD a friend of mine taught me a trick years back. Take a bucket and place a hole in the lid. fill it with water and place a pvc pipe about 8inches out of it.. Now take the unharmed beatles and put them in the pipe and crush them. The scent the release will attract the other beatles to the bucket where they will die in the water.

I look at the gun problem as two fold. One criminals and to that problem you will always have them enforcement of laws and tougher penalties would help. The other is lack of people being taught proper gun safety and control. Growing up all my friends parents had guns my dad had guns heck I had a gun the day I was born ( seriously gramps bought me a gun when my dad called to tell them it was a boy ) We grew up knowing about them knowing how to handle them and shoot them. They were not something that was hidden and a mystery that would provoke curiousity. Not one of us ever have had an accident with them. Criminals will always be around. Education of the rest will solve a lot of problems or at least reduce the it.

Wow how did Jerry Sandusky get brought into a discussion about water safety. Drinking and Driving Kills there is no question to that. I lost many friends to people who drink and drive try explaining to their families you think parting is a good thing. I lost a good friend to a guy who thought drinking and shooting a gun was a good thing. There is a time and place for "Parties" but it is NOT in the general public where your stupidity may take a life. Not many people set out to get drunk and do something that can take a life (including their own) But it happens every dam day. Then there is just the flat out dangerous boaters every weekend that may not be drinking but in the name of (fun) are dangerous and cause near collisions and injury. I had a skier cut between my boat and another one just last sunday there wasnt 50 yards between us and then the skier went down. If the enforcement saves a life and makes people use their brain its a good thing. If you are worried about getting busted for drinking in public or drinkng and driving then stay at home Im sure the parents of kids will be happy you didnt kill one with drinking or drug use. Whats wourse a JS or a Dead Child from someone who thought fun was drinking and boating! Im a parent and I will answer A live safe child!

You know I read a lot of forums,, most are full of BS and attacks at eachother. This place is the one forum where people try to help eachother as is very evident by Bills report. That is great info and great advise. When I am after fish blowing up I put all the other gear away as a rule and only keep one Rod on the deck with one of three baits a spoon, swim bait or top water..... One thing I will say is when chasing fish blowing up DO NOT run into them with the big motor it will put them down fast. In the scenerio Bill described I would be more inclined to have a spoon on and wait for the fish to go down then target them. I am taking in to account this weekend when lots of boats will be out and putting fish down fast. Watch for the blow up then motor over to the spot and use the sonar to find and target them at depth.

The Draconian Regulations Of The 4 Jackson County Lakes
Feathers and Fins replied to woodman's topic in Blue Springs Lake
Ok this might sound stupid but,,,,,,...... If you know these lakes are so heavily regulated you are almost guaranteed a citation why even go to them? And if you Knew you were in violation and did it anyway why are you complaining about breaking the law you knew you were breaking? Am i missing something here? More to the story? -
Cabelas and Basspro carry it... It is nylon line with a core of lead in it. It comes in 10 colors to a spool each color is 10 yards and each color out represents a depth to simplify it. 3 Colors would be 30 feet deep at a given speed. When I run leadcore I will run from 5 feet of floro to 100 ft of floro off it depending on what im doing then use the leadcore to get it to a very specific depth every time

Swim baits. and large ones at that. I get looked at funny and then jaws drop when all the sudden they see me stopped fighting a fish. Some days High Speed trolling cant be beat. You have to remember at that speed though not to stop the boat but back it off to idle speed. You hit a fish at that speed there will be a hole in their mouth and stopping the boat will give them a chance to get off. I use to love watching newbie Wahoo trollers who stopped when they hooked up just to loose the fish that way.

Seagar 10lbs Floro. I love your speed kills comment, I know its ocean but I have trolled 18mph for wahoo fastest freshwater is 11mph for stripers in the right conditions but the laugh is I have caught walleye trolling that speed for striper.

One of my favorite ways to cook fish is in a Cast Iron pan with a trivet . In the bottom of the pan put 2 cup of white wine, 1 teaspoon of fresh garlic, 1 teaspoon of fresh Vidalia Onions, 3 cayenne peppers 1 jalapeño pepper 1 bell pepper of green, red and yellow . Place the trivet in the sauce and bring to a boil. Add the fillets and cover the pot for 6 minutes. Remove the fillets and add 1.5 cups of cream to the mix and let simmer for 2 minutes. Add in some Asparagus for 4 minutes then replace the fillets for 2 minutes. Remove the fillets and drain the mix. Place the fillets and veggies on a plate and cover lightly with the cream.

Chief, Basspro and Cabelas, but truth is I prefer Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers over all of them. -

Heart Issues Get Checked!
Feathers and Fins replied to Feathers and Fins's topic in New News and General Discussion
Marty I am working on it 1 today and hoping to get completely stopped soon. Its given me a new outlook on life, I took my health for granted being young and what I thought was in perfect health. I plan to be around a great many more years. My goal this year to be there for all of us to have the hunt we talked about last year. But even more I was told today my son is getting married so now I have even more to look forward to. I look at this as a blessing, to catch it this soon in my life and be able to correct it... But man my arm looks like im a druggy, I dont get how people could want to give themselves shots lol. -
Attacked At Bass Pro Shops!
Feathers and Fins replied to Stoneroller's topic in General Angling Discussion
To bad there is no way to let Johnny Know how people feel and are treated by these people. From the shows I have seen him on and the interviews he seems like the kind of person who would deal with it. -
I am 43 years old and thought I was in good shape, I am in construction very active and eat good. Heck I have been trying to quit smoking for 6 weeks even and doing very good with that. Went 4 weeks without a smoke until I wrenched my back and got laid up for awhile and started again, but only 3 a day! This from what the docs are thinking might be hereditary. Anyway Monday I was working on the computer for some work and started feel a little pain in my chest it progressed over a couple hours to my left arm and then hand. I got worried so I had a friend come get me and take me to the ER. You all see where this is going. Heart issues! They have not yet called it a Heart Attack as they are still waiting on more test results to come in. I am finally home, I look and feel like a pin cushion and druggy. I had blood drawn every hour on the hour for 2 days straight and an angiogram (sp) chest x-rays stress test and so on. Guys this has been a serious wakeup call and I just wanted to urge everyone to go get checked up. I thought this was something to worry about a lot further in life than 43. I am lucky to have caught it this young is how I am looking at it. Diet change and exercise along with completely quitting should work is the Docs feelings right now, but still waiting on all test results which we should get next Tuesday. Just wanted to post this up and say go get checked. Have the stress test and blood work done, It would be nice to keep reading your post and fishing with you guys for years to come. Like I said I am just 43 and it happened to me.

All I use for trolling is my main motor a 90hp optimas forward trolling I have steady 2.5mph speed. A sock added brings me down to 1.3 and two socks is .7mph... wind will alter speed but 2.5 i have had no problems catching anything so I seldom use the socks any more. I have learned lure weight + line out depths for the lures i use with the big motor. 2.5mph using a 1/4oz jig head with a keitech 4'' swim bait with 100feet of line out = 8ft deep 2.5mph with a Rapala Shad Rap SR-9 150 ft of line = 22ft 2.5 with a 3'' flicker shad 150ft out = 17 to 19 ft Learning what your lure will do with line out at a known speed is key for me as I am using trolling to locate the fish. When I get a bite I mark it on my map never stopping the boat I reel in the fish to continue the troll. I like to troll a contour line of at least 400 yards and prefferable 1 mile doing this for a minimum of 4 passes. After the final pass I look at the waypoints I created to locate where the fish are then go back with the electric and use a more targeted approach on where the fish are.

Bama rig works on walleye I have trolled it using 1 Shar Rap sr6 on a single arm the others were with 1/4oz keitech jigs success is pretty decent but you will loose a lot of them in experimenting. with depth control

Al; I have to say visible enforcement is a deterrent, Hide in the bush and write after watching a law broke is not. If we had more visible enforcement it would without doubt be a deterrent to possible illegal activity just like law enforcement driving around town or for a better example if you drive through a town where you know its notorious speed trap you pay extra effort to your driving. I honestly think that would be the same with Wardens, the more visible they are the more people are watching over their shoulders and being more careful. But I believe that also when it comes to enforcement on our lakes for boating safety as well. I added up the last year and have been on the Beaver Lake 183 times alone and have been checked 0 times and seen the sheriff or other law enforcement a total of maybe 3 times and that was mostly inside the buoy line. I day in day out see things and then hear about it on the news that there was such and such boat accident. Just last week on the local news they were talking about 4 deaths in 4 weekends and how a “Boating Class” was their idea of saving lives. Last I checked you had to have one if you were born after I believe it was 1985. Yet I know in my heart that if there was a greater presence on the lakes there might be a few less deaths each year. Same as I believe that a Game Warden truck in a parking lot would be a deterrent as people would see it and wonder where he was. Or at least honest people would and the criminals may well move on. We have to few Wardens for where they need to cover and that is part of the problem. Everyone has Ideas. I would even be in support of raising the License fee to help. But I will always be against the additional stamp ideas as I have seen where that leads first hand. Even implementing a simple fee box, like they use at Army Corps areas for after hours and charge a simple fee for use of the area would be a good one or a annual pass as well.
