Marty, I just asked because it sounds liek this place has the perfect oppurtunity for a dig-in. Oh and a dozen decoys is sometimes to much lol.. I went up against a Guide a few years back who had well over 1000 snow decoys out and i put out only 9 and sucked every bird in. My favorite saying fishing or hunting is "Match the Hatch" You would be shocked at how a few decoys will work over a mass spread. Chris will surely teach you a few tricks. But 38 years has taught me one thing.. Just when i think i figured them out they make me feel like a complete blithering idiot left scratching my head.... Lord thats why i love going back after them.You never will know it all and figuring them out is 90% of the fun.

Cs, all do respect, game and fish commissions do pay attention to tournaments to a degree and this may well give them idea's plus those who are against fishing may also see this is a route to go after other set-up's. It should be up to each tournament as to what they wish to allow and disallow for that tournament. We as sportsmen need to walk a careful line about what we are willing to say should be "Banned" This should be voted on by the individual clubs for their respective tournaments all the way to the Pro-Levels. But not in a petition to ban any specific lure, rig, style or type of fishing.

This peitition IMO is stupid and may lead to other restriction! The umbrella and other multi-lure rigs have been used for years in sport-fishing both fresh and salt water. People really need to think before acting, I would expect to see this on a PETA website and not one generated by sportsmen. No way will I sign it.

Marty, The location's I gave you in the PM "D" being the first letter is holding about 300, I went by today and saw them on the furthest pond to the North. No Gun so No dead geese.. They are using it for a midday loaf as they were not there this morning when I went by.. You might want to go check it as well.. Also 5 ponds near it holding large numbers including some itty bitty baby geese AKA Richardson's I got the traditional Bow Hunt this weekend or I would be all over them.

No time this weekend, my brother and I are closing out the ar DUCK SEASON..Guns in the AM for ducks Bows in the PM for geese.

I enjoy fishing HC but as Drew said we need enforcement. Its a current Joke and all the habitat improvement in the world will not help if the fish are poached out. I applaud the actions to improve it but its biggest problem is poaching.

Chris I had to go to Independance today to look at a job... I went round a bout , up through Shawnee to St Paul then on to Ind! Came bace through Coffeeville to Joplin. THOUSANDS of birds is an understatement. I was teasing a buddy on Facebook while i was driving around asking him how he can coincider short necked honkers as real geese lol.. But what really shocked me was the amount of specks in the area.

I loved it this year lots of fun lots of good stories and pics.. Chris it aint over for a long time.. still got the CO season and then Thunder Chicken Season... Birds were put here to keep reminding us we need to be out in Gods Country enjoying it... I still need to get up and see the Bison on one of my favorite prairies.

excellent eating several of the above ways...also great eating in patty form... pattys can be made for burgers, tacos or just by themself. the flavor reminds me of bufflo but more like fresh flounder.

Had to force myself not to shoot a limit of teal... Dang things were all over, it was almost self defence shooting when i was in the decoys had groups of 20+ keep dive bombing through them...

I got the call to go even though I had no intent to hunt this weekend, infact I was planning on beating up trout and roaring river but a old friend who has never been wrong said to get my #!@ down there. I knew something was up as soon as I hit Sallisaw and saw birds on just about every pond the whole way down. The best hunt of the season we were limited in 20 minutes. Long drive to do a turn around we both laughed about it but I only get to hunt with him once or twice a year so I probably would have gone no matter what. It was a special day I wouldnt have missed anyway. His son my godsons first duck hunt. Little turd would have been hunting all season but his grades were below the required "C" average so he had to sit it out till he got the letter from his teachers that he was good to go.

Just a Bucktail no spinner or rattler, if you add anything just put on a swimbait tail to add to its profile.
