  1. GAMBLER Intimidator bass boat for sale. Burgundy metallic and white $17000 New lower unit New water pump New fuel lines Custom Burgundy cover Lowrance HDS5x bow sonar Humminbird 587ci HD stern sonar New cranking battery
  2. Distinct detail over reliable imports did a great job for a reasonable price, just fyi
  3. There is a sign but I'm not sure how much they enforce it right by the fence where they are wading out. They are basically wading knee deep to get to the rocks that stick out of the water. Crappie are biting with a few hybrid being caught. Only caught a couple of dink catfish by the dam. Went further down and launched the boat. Caught 5 in a couple hours. Biggest went 20,11,8, and a couple of 5s.
  4. Can anyone recommend a place near springfield to get a gambler bass boat polished and/or detailed?
  5. Can anyone recommend where to get a bass boat polished and detailed near springfield? Any info appreciated Thanks
  6. Went fishing last night and found a nice flathead carcass cleaned. Was wondering if anyone knew when it is was caught and on what. Know lot of the locals use small white perch secretly, but I figured it was a little cool water temp wise for the flats to be biting. Also saw a few crappie and bass being caught. One kid was carrying around a 6 lber.
  7. Went Friday night and yesterday near Aldrich. Caught 10 channels and a carp that probably weighed every bit of 35lbs. Biggest channel was 11 lbs and smallest around 4. Full of eggs. Had a nice walleye on but unbuttoned itself. Couple of other bites that were either whites our walleyes. Those were Friday night after dark. Didn't stay after dark last night.
  8. Went down yesterday evening and found them running water pretty good. Birds were going ape and saw a boat fighting a fish I assume to be a catfish. Didn't see it but it was putting a pretty good bend in the rod and looked heavy. Tried and lost 4 spoons and some swimbaits no bites. Nothing surfacing or even Asian carp jumping. Went below 54 bridge to try for spoonbill and nothing. Talked with others down there and found out they had been there since 3on and nothing as well as six other snaggers that had been there all morning and nothing. Hopefully after some warm weather the water temps will come up and things will start moving.
  9. It doesn't. You will have to get the navionics chip to see the channel contours for upper LOZ. Made the same mistake and had to call lake master directly to find out they don't map that part of the lake.

    White Bass?

Where is high point located? Near little sac or big sac
  11. I know they stock throughout the year but what I was referring to is that there is probably some, though little. Either way, stocked or not they still deserve to be enjoyed not abused or killed b/c they are not wild.
  12. Don't want to argue but I'm going to have to disagree with you drew03. I don't think a fish released I'm taneycomo is there to be killed but more to be enjoyed. If someone wants to harvest a legal fish, that's their right. And to presume to know that no reproduction is happening in the lake is in my opinion a little narrow minded to put it politely.
  13. let me know how the slinky works. maybe im just throwing a little farther than others. a local named chris and scotty showed me the rig i use and i only get hung up about 10% of the time. i also am referring to fishing in the no boating zone above the bouys where there is major rip rap to prevent erosion when they release water. further down from the bouys and around the bend is smoother bottom from what i sonared. i agree with shad being better. it is my go to bait but i have also landed 40# fish from the bank on bluegill and my wife caught a 23# flathead up there. just my opinion, but i think its just what they are in the mood for at the time. have seen both work. hope i helped? oh, and casting far enough out is around 60 yards or more. good luck
  14. you need to run with 30# test and 5-6 oz. sinker. need to have a threeway rig with weight on bottom. fish on the handicap dock (east)side as you will get hung up less. you still need to throw a little ways out to clear rocks, snags etc. and sometimes you still lose them. use cut shad or bluegill and you should catch them. good luck nick also in my experience, there is a direct correlation with them running water. (fish bite when they're running water)
  15. they have been running 3-4 units all day for the last 2 or 3 days. crappie are turning on and white bass/ small hybrids are schooling thick if you can cast far enough from the handicap dock. catfishing was good but didn't land any big ones two days ago. 5-6 lb blues. hopefully with all the water running the larger ones will show back up. spoonbill are starting to push up also. am going saturday, will post results then.
  16. just to add. in mo "trot" lines are limited to no more than 33 hooks just as you can legally use up to 33 poles per person as long as they are labeled with either conservation # or your name and address. i wasn't aware that there were stripers in tble rock. are you talking about catching largemouths and whites on umbrella rigs there?
  17. so if i understand you guys correctly, if they are running at table rock they will be running at powersite and even a little before? the reason i ask is because i am wanting to try to find some stripers after catching one in august when the water was high. i have talked to some others who think they might still be around just need to find them and most likely to find them at the dam when they are generating/running water through the turbines. being from north of springfield and fuel being so high i would like to do a little more than guess before driving down. thanks again for all the info. i really aprreciate it.
  18. does anyone know how to find out if and when thye are running water at powersite dam?
  19. thanks a bunch. will try to get out this weekend and will let you know how it went. really excited to try these tactics!
  20. hope i didntupset you, theres not many people out there like you willing to help just b/c you enjoy to. i just dont want to come across wanting something for nothing. since we hooked into them earlier this year i have been trying to learn all i can about feeding and behavioral patterns as to be better at finding and catching them like you. it is just tough to find information on them as you said they are naturally a salt water fish, so i am having problems learning about them in resevoirs. just wanting to learn and have been raised in a manner of giving back to those who have given to us. not knowing you the only thing i could offer in exchange for knowledge is what alot of people want and thats$ do you have any advice on literature or places to learn how to become more efficient at catching them. i have read your 101 class through several times and cannot wait to try it after this cold spell pushes through. figured this weather would shut them down and it being over an hour one way from springfield thought it would be better at risking the fuel on better weather but dont know if that is accurate as i dont know that much about their behavior. as for powersite, it is a bottom run with floodgates on top for excess high water. it was really pouring over the top when we caught those 40's this summer. thats why we were lucky enough to catch them not knowing anything about them. they were just there feeding like crazy and just happened to hit our bait. now that the water is down, they will probably run out the bottom instead over the top. i just wasnt sure about them and shallow water as it is the start of bull shoals and isnt very deep. but then i read about how shallow you got into them in prairie creek, so im just confused on where to start. again all help is greatly appreciated and i am willing to give back any way i can in return. thanks again nick
  21. Amazing info. that is really awesome of you to help newbies like me with all that knowledge. i am from the springfield area and we got into some big stripers at powersite this summer with all the high water. was just wondering after reading your post if you think they will still be aroundor will have pushed back down to the main lake. want to try to get another one before years end and thought since the ones in beaver push to the river as it gets colder that maybe the ones in bull shoals might do the same and push towards powersite. any help is greatly appreciated. and also, im assuming you guide with all your know how. if you do send me a message. would be interested in booking a trip with ya.
