  1. I fished from 9 to 3 today and caught between 40 and 50. Caught at least 20 on the whopper plopper fishing in the White River channel over the 25 foot depth. Caught several on a jigging spoon when they weren't hitting topwater. After reading about a shakey head bite from a earlier post, I started in a cove and caught another 10 or so with the shakey head and cotton candy trick worm in as shallow as 6 ft. to 20ft. Caught a few on a war eagle spinner, rock crawler and pb&j ned. It was one of those days the topwater bite lasted all day. Water temps 77 to 78 cloudy and dead calm.
  2. After I saw it I had to get proof otherwise it would have been another fish story. If it would have been a bass I would have never taken a picture of it in the water
  3. I had a spoon on a rod with 10lb line on it, my net was in my rod box, the handle to my net had a slight crack and a bend in it. The handle broke in half lifting it resulting in me putting my hand in its mouth to get it in the boat. Battery was dead in my scale to weigh it. That's why it deserved to be let go. After losing at least 5 other big ones over the years that i never saw I was pretty happy to boat this one.
  4. Went bass fishing and caught this guy on a jigging spoon in 20 fow. Stick measures 22 inches and it went another 8 to 10 inches past that. I'm guessing somewhere around 20lbs. because when I lifted it to release it to live another day it was heavy. Water temps around 79. I caught 8 bass on a spinner and the spoon with 3 keepers. The second pic i took was just in case I didn't get it to the boat.
  5. I'm pretty sure I heard you yelling for joy yesterday when you caught those. I won't mention where but you yelled more than once. It was around 4 or 4:30.
  6. Book is on its way to a new owner.
  7. If anyone's interested in this paperback for sale. I'll charge you what i have in it. Great reading. Glad to pass it along. pm me.
  8. Two of us caught 14 today with 5 keepers from 9 to 3 between eagle rock and big m. Nothing over 16 inches. We caught them on the booyah multi blade spinner, rage blade blaster and a plastic worm . Most fish were shallow and on wind blown banks.

  12. attachments_2017_01_17.zipattachments_2017_01_17.zipattachments_2017_01_17 (1).zipMy buddy and i got out yesterday to start the new year off right. We saved this kentucky floating on the surface with the oversized shad in his mouth. He swam off hopefully to learn his lesson about eating something so big. Overall we caught 10 on a 7/8 war eagle spoon, drop shot, pbj ned and this nice keeper on a berkley cutter table rock color jerkbait. Beautiful day to be out 63 degrees 45 wt. Caught everything in 20 to 30ft of water on the edge of creek channels.
  13. I caught two in in the white around pt.25 a few weeks ago.. One had 2 big eyes and the other had one big one and a normal one. I should have taken a pic.
  14. Some of us can use this. Beverage type optional.
  15. Hey, don't forget about us "Kings River Gangs" down here. We wear dark green to match our water color.
  16. Dave, you're right on the 6lb. I put some on a lews baitcaster and my bites almost tripled on the little guy. No more spinning reel for me.
  17. Williams brothers ski and sports in shell knob. They'll make them up for you there if they're not busy.
  18. What's the chance they bring all those keepers and release them on the kings? Haha I wish
  19. Wind was dead this morning so i thought I'd go out before they'd pick up. I should have got out before sunrise. About 730 they were tearing it up. Water temps were 55.3. In the area I'm in is about the size of a football field. I caught them on a war eagle spoon, the rage blaster, spinner, jerkbait and the bigger loon plopper. The bigger plopper caught 4 spots and the big white. That white in the pic just knocked it out of the water close to a foot. He was mad at it. I should have got out before sunrise. Very rare around here they hit 2 days in a row this early in the year. I'm still waiting on the 2 to 3 lb. schools to show up. I've got into them here before but maybe it's too early for them. I'll take 13 to 14 inchers and occasional whites mixed in for now. I would guess i caught close to 20 in the hour and a half. I will be out before sunrise. There were some larger fish in the schools by their splashes but they could have been whites. I'll have a spook and a popper on deck along with the ploppers tommorow. I hope it's calm tomorrow.
  20. rps, I'll give the blade a few more chances jigging. Do you swing yours to give it more action when you're vertically jigging? mjk, i like the looks of that spoon. From what i can find online they don't come heavier than maybe a1/4 oz. What oz.do you throw? It can't hurt to have 3 different spoons to throw in a school of green or white bass. Steve
  21. I used the strike king rage blaster in white. If you guys haven't tried one you're missing out. They're great to throw in schools of bass. They throw pretty far and have a greet swimming action. Not so great for jigging though.
  22. Water temp was 55.6 with a green tint here on the kings. Fish were hitting topwater this morning with no wind. I threw a rage blade spoon and a swim bait catchingI 6 non keepers. I had the smaller wp in monkey butt on the deck and caught 2 before they disappeared. Everything was in the 13 to 14 range. I spent the next hour and a half catching topwater whites on spoons. I think they knew the storm was coming in. Ikept the males and released the females full of eggs. Thunder and rain came about 12:30.
  23. Sounds like you threw everything at them. From 3 to 5 has been my best fishing times. They seem to come up shallow and bite alot better.
