Coming soon:. A thread complaining... about people complaining about the ads.
-
Well, they have quite the overhead. You can't expect their secretary to drive something common and skip a nail appointment.
-
Yeah I'm definitely impressed. Why it came with 2 batteries I'll never know. You'd have to fillet a whole truckload of fish in order to need that second battery.
-
You're impossible 🙄 Please stop quoting me. Better yet....BLOCK ME. Thanks Why do you assume I haven't done that? Nevermind, please don't even answer.
-
For the 78th time...... Yes, this IS how it works on OTHER SITES. But not HERE. The stuff cluttering every page ON HERE has only one pattern......and the pattern is that the ads are 100% random and annoyingly crude. For the most part, not always. Right now, for instance, they are somewhat normal..... but still have nothing to do with anything I've searched or done online. And again.....for the 78th time..... it's only on here.
-
Yes sir, I am aware of all of that. Why only HERE though? Why not Marineengine.com, or BoatUS, or FAOL, or.....(do I really need to list them all?) Got a confident answer for that one? Oh, and how long before YOU are a moderator here? I think you'd fit right in. 👍

Just 2 relevant ads here at the moment, we'll see what it's like later. Honestly though, my wife has glanced at my phone when I'm on here in the evenings, and she's like "What the hell are you looking at !??" 😅 "Just Ozark Anglers and their rediculous ads, babe.....calm down! "
-
I see "relevant" ads on other sites that I frequent. But on HERE (OAF) it's absolutely rediculous. Even if they monitored my keystrokes while on here it wouldn't come up with the kinda crap that's on these pages. Honestly, do any of you recall me discussing the menstrual cycle of tortoises ?

My girls got me a Bubba Blade cordless fillet knife for father's day. It comes with various blades, including a very narrow set that should make cleaning a mess of bluegill a breeze. Not much thicker than a jigsaw blade. 👍
-
Buicks are back ? Now that's some news I hadn't heard.
-
I'd be willing to bet that an Amish child could make better quality parts than Mercury Marine division can. And for 1/10th of the cost.
-
Nope, the only option is to click on it.....and I'm not doing that. I'm not offended by it......it would take ALOT WORSE THINGS to offend ME, but of all the things that I get blasted upon for saying or hinting about on here....and of all the posts of mine that get deleted.....it just seems REALLY INSANE to keep allowing some of these ads like that. Makes me wonder just exactly how batcrap crazy and twisted in the head the folks are that police this place. Ya know ? At this point I wouldn't invite any of them to dinner. Nor would I accept an invitation to theirs. And I'd rather not feel that way.

Spoons....or Sponsons ?
-
Thanks for confirming that. They wouldn't believe ME. Pretty much accused me of lying. Maybe they will take your word for it.
-
Yeah it's all about your personal surfing habits. You've been looking at Mountain Dew stuff alot. It's all your fault, the ads you see. That's what the ones that run this place are certain about.
-
It's because you surf Mtn dew porn all the time. Phil and his team of moderators say so, and they are quite certain of it. Haven't you been paying attention ? 🙄

I used to deliver foam and plastic products to grocery stores, and had quite a crush on a certain Amish chick at a certain Save-a-Lot that really liked me. She was pretty as hell and had a voice that would just make your heart melt. I was so focused on her pretty face and curves that my eyes never made it past her hips.....Until one day she stepped around the counter and I noticed that her FEET WERE HUGE ! 😳 No, I mean like a size 12. Clown feet huge. Killed it for me 🥺 I'm not a "foot guy"at all.....but there's no way I could ever get over that.

Back when I did service calls, a guy called and said he had family down and had promised the kids that he would take them tubing.....but the motor wouldn't start. Was willing to pay ANYTHING to get it going again. When I got to his place he was sitting on the dock alone with a drink in his hand, depressed, and drunker than Cooter Brown. I looked it over and YEP, KILL SWITCH MISSING. I asked where the lanyard was, but of course he had no idea. I ran up to the truck, grabbed one, and sure enough the ol' Evinrude came immediately to life. I looked over at the guy and he was crying like a baby, and couldn't even control himself. I said, "no worries buddy, we've all done it". He reached in his pocket and handed me a giant wad of Benjamin's. I was like, no no no 60.00 and we're good, I'm glad it was that easy.......But he wouldn't have it. He goes into this long drunken shpeel about how he's been begging the kids to come down forever, and when they FINALLY come, the motor won't start.....and how I had SAVED THE WEEKEND FOR HIS FAMILY ! I wasn't getting away from there until I took every bit of it. He 100% insisted. So a 15 minute service call netted me $1700.00 and a customer for life. True story.

Neither is the MDC. And they get PAID to. You'd think they would be on "our" side and try to eliminate the technical harassment by the Niangua cattle co. And you'd also think they would police the illegal gigging, or at least attempt to. These are things that are truly going on, and have been for years. But the only enforcement of rules and laws that gets any attention is folks on vacation smoking a joint. They aren't gonna let that harmless infraction slide.

How much do you wanna bet that Willie Nelson's weed smoking stigma is more social media generated than it is a reality? I would be willing to wager that each of us knows someone that smokes more weed and stays more stoned, than Willie actually does. I think Willie was just one of the first ones to freely and publicly open up about it.

Potential. Every river has good years and not-so-good years. But there are some noticable things that can let you know if the water you covered was a "quality stretch" or not. If you hit a stretch of river and didn't catch much......but you find yourself anxious to hit it again after the next high water event..... then you probably are capable of recognizing a truly good piece of water. Keep hitting it, and eventually you'll unlock its secrets. The "BEST" river, or stretch of river, isn't going to be one where getting bit by multiple 18-20" smallmouth easily, on the same day, can be expected. Those places don't exist here. That's my take on it anyway. Al, just for conversation sake......What does Akers to Pulltite lack? What could make it "the best"?
-
The ones that would hurt it (lawless giggers and uncaring landowners) are already there. It isn't the Amish that are doing damage or causing problems. What's needed on SOME STREAMS is decent caring fishermen that aren't afraid to stand up and help keep an eye on things. There might be a few bad apples on here, but they can't be any worse than the ones already on the river in question.
-
Sorry, but there was no reason to try to convince anybody that the Amish are raping all the smallmouth in the Niangua. I spend plenty of time there.....and it simply isn't true. It isn't like Crane creek where it might benefit the resource to keep the rattlesnake/cottonmouth conspiracy going strong. The Niangua NEEDS a few more friends. Ronnie has made it perfectly clear for the last several months, that he disagrees with everything I say, regardless of what it's about......so why he'd want to quote one of my posts regarding a river he know less about than I do was a mystery. I was just defending my home river. Is that not allowed here now either?

Well thanks, Chuck ! 😊 I understand that everyone in this business is booked for at least 2 weeks with more complicated or time consuming projects, but it's rediculous to expect someone that just needs something quick & easy taken care of to wait that long. Those quick/easy jobs are the ones that keep the lights on until the bigger jobs get picked up and paid for. A decent tech could probably fix abkeenan's motor in the time it would take him to go take a pee. 🙄
-
If you have a voltmeter I'll talk you through fixing it yourself. It's going to be really easy.
