1. I like to shove a glass worm rattle in each claw of a Guido Bug crawdad, or a Zoom critter craw. The noise doesn't hurt, and that little bit of extra weight in each one of those claws makes for some killer action that no other jig trailer duplicates. On worms I don't think just one rattle stuck in there does much for ya. But a 10" worm with 4-5 of them in it.....Now you're doing something. πŸ‘
2. People who eat carp, possum, and poke salad always have the best stories ! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘
3. Pontoons in a heavy crosswind are a real joy. Especially if they have a rail trailer. If doing it solo you only get one shot.
4. I gotta admit that a Johnson/Evinrude, if overheated that badly, would definitely need a head gasket and new crankshaft seals at the very least. I'm pretty sure that the Yamaha would too. The dude actually had 4 of those identical motors (in a previous video).....so I'm not 100% convinced that video is truthful in it's implication.
5. Why is it that so many river ramps are built 90Β° to the current? That's the most annoying thing ever. πŸ˜’
6. I have a buddy that just sits on the deck and tinkers with tackle all day. Out of a full day of fishing he might actually FISH for maybe one hour. The rest of the day he is rooting around in his tackle, tying "FG knots" and perpetually re-rigging. At the end of the day I always have 60.00-80.00 worth of FREE STUFF left in my boat. If only it was crap that I wanted !!
7. Yeah that's what I thought way back when you said....
I put just over 6 thousand hours on a Suzuki 140 4 stroke and it was still running when I sold it
8. I'm not so sure that wisdom can be measured. Often I don't even realize that I possess any wisdom in regards to a given topic until I'm called upon, or put in a position to display it. Much of what is thought to be some form of mysterious wisdom, is in fact just a recognition of patterns. The longer we live, the more patterns we notice developing. For instance....I can tell, without looking up, whether the person pulling into my place is a buddy, a longtime customer, or someone who is stopping by for the very first time....just by the sound of the gravel under their tires. That's "wisdom". Spawned only by experience and the level in which a person pays attention and processes information.
9. So there we have it. Your 200 hours just became 2000+ for all we know.
10. People who work full-time don't spend their money on cheesy-assed analog hour meters. And they don't waste their FREE TIME installing them either. 😎
11. How much do I get? I won't be receiving any. Doubt that you will either.
12. Allegedly more than one. But if they didn't then the government owes our families all a refund with added interest to date.
13. Yeah that's a bummer deal. 😒
14. I was hoping you'd say that. πŸ˜‚ The gentleman who typically puts 2000 hours per year on his motors.....took over 5 years to put 200 hours on one. Gotcha πŸ‘
15. Well built 2 cylinder / 2 strokes are hands down the most reliable, hard to kill outboards on the planet. Simplicity rules!
16. Your finances are glad that you can't, too. I recovered a similarly designed 200 a couple years ago that had been submerged while running. The cost was a bit over 2k.
17. I'd expect you to be, but I'm repeatedly disappointed. πŸ˜‚ I'm "wise" enough to know that much of it is an act though. Many people have a M.O. of pretending to be ignorant. This is a trait usually inherited from ones mother. I do it occasionally myself, I pretend to be too stupid to get dishes clean so that I am the last person whom anyone in the house wants doing the dishes. I do this because my wife and daughters pretend to be inadequate in the brain when it comes to operating a lawn mower or weed eater.....They just don't GET IT. It's a head game.
18. Why wasn't the failure on the 140 covered under warranty ?
19. This is the only reason why anyone should have one shoe more than 2 feet away from the other....
20. Depends on what a person studies and stays active in. β€œWise” means one has a high average outcome across all situations, so wisdom is what older folks typically have that younger folks lack. β€œSmart” means one does spectacularly well in a few situations. Young bucks often know more than they need to about a couple things, but overall they are ding-a-lings.
21. I ain't buying your 6000 hr. BS. πŸ™„ And.....#1 if your Evinrude 140 blew up at 200 hours then whoever set it up, or the captain driving it was responsible. Same with your 150 V6. Also "many years ago" nobody knew how many HOURS were on their outboard. Knowing that information didn't become a thing until ECM's were incorporated on outboards. And don't even attempt to convince us that you had a keyswitch hour meter installed..... ain't nobody with any brains believing that. Myself and many MANY others are still running Evinrude's from the 70's and 80's. How many 40+ year old Suzuki's can you find on the water? Hell, I challenge you to find a 20 year old Mercury or Yamaha, while you're at it. Even the early '90's Precision Blends have become extremely rare. A few exist as showpieces.... but you'll seldom see one stirring water anywhere.
22. Just remember that if you're a passenger, and the guy driving the boat gets thrown out and the boat drifts/blows away.....you can't legally fire the motor back up and go retrieve him. 😊 Actually the kill switch lanyard law is a good one. Nothing is scarier than a boat doing 40+ mph circles while people are in the water nearby. How they plan to enforce it is a mystery though. πŸ™„
23. Yep. Code 14
24. Oh I know. It's like walking a poodle with a 40ft. leash. If you stop to piss the little jackass will invariably make 4 circles around your feet.
