  1. I've never heard the story so you got me there. Isn't there a movie about it?
  2. I bet me splitting wood while you sit on the tailgate and argue with me about flood control would get us 3 million followers on YouTube.
  3. Actually I think you are right about that, the gates are RAISED not lowered. I had a fart in my brain. 😅
  4. I do it all the time. The fuel economy you THINK you are getting is heavily padded. Invoices are in the mail. You're welcome and Thank you.
  5. Um, dropping the gates 2' at 659 is exactly the same amount of water as dropping 1' at 660. Either way your gate is 1' below the surface of the water. I mean.....Duh! 🙄
  6. Me too! I'm not going into details either, but every time you assholes make it back to the ramp without breaking down it's because I secretly fixed it while you were running down the lake. You don't even realize how close you were to being stranded miles from nowhere with nothing to eat but some BBQ chip crumbs and a few gummy bears. I'm preparing all of y'all's invoices right now, and I'd appreciate it if you'd pay before tax season. Thanks. 😊
  7. How does driving on expired plates tie you to a truck full of explosives ? That's some crazy profiling. 😂
  8. The release capability of Bagnell depends on the level of the lake at that given time. They can drop 12 floodgates 5' below the elevation of 660 msl So dropping them 2' at 659 is gonna pass the same amount of water as dropping them 1' at 660 The water breeches the floodgates at 667 (I think)
  9. I get it! That's why I said "some rich disgruntled basturd". You and Mitch were the ones that said you didn't have to be rich to do it.
  10. Sure, building a bomb is one thing. But being able to deliver it somewhere and detonate it (anonymously) while sitting in your living room watching TV is a whole new level of destructive retaliation. How would they ever be able to determine who did it, and why? I mean YIKES! Gotta admit though, it would be pretty cool to coyote hunt or thin down feral hogs with a drone 😃
  11. Really? Why would an Emergency Management office be at risk for any kind of terroristic threat ? Y'all deal with things AFTER they happen. What's the security protocol when a heavily armed drone comes out of nowhere, pinpointing the office computers WiFi connection, and comes busting through an office window at 80 mph ?
  12. Pffffft! I'm always the last to go to bed and the first to wake up. 😊
  13. I thought skunks were born dead on the road. I never see a live one.
  14. It's only a matter of time until some rich disgruntled basturd takes out a county courthouse or a DMV office. I'd hate to work anywhere like that with the kind of evil technology available now. Scary stuff.
  15. Yeah right! You probably just farted.
  16. Yeah I was on the verge of spilling some extremely helpful late Winter/early Spring river smallmouth knowledge, but then it hit me....I don't fish for river smallies in late winter-early spring EVER, I'm always busy chasing something else then. My window of serious river smallie fishing typically begins when the water first becomes warm enough to wet wade in, and ends when it becomes unbearable to wet wade in.
  17. During the meeting they said "We can't release any more water at this time because LO can't take it", and at that time LO was at 658.6 (over a foot below full pool...but it was still on a slow rise from tributary inflow). When Bagnell can't drop a flood gate, allegedly because of the St.Thomas level, and LO is near their 660 panic level....then Lake O DOES MATTER and it is absolutely a factor that the ACOE considers before dropping flood gates at Truman. It shouldn't be, but it is. It's BS that the Lake O economy and the threat of some dock damage trumps dam safety, Truman area economy, and Truman's ability to do what it was designed to do in the first place, but that's an undisputable fact. Lake O didn't have a problem maintaining 660ish year round even before Truman dam existed.....but now they act like it's a giant hurdle to overcome. Just seems rediculous to me.
  18. I remember 49.9 and my parents saying that if it ever got over .50/gal. that they were going to stop driving. Yeah right 🙄 They said the same thing when cigarettes hit 1.00 a pack.
  19. Oh STFU ! Nobody bitches and whines more than you. 😁
  20. The new battery powered LED Coleman lanterns are the greatest thing since the creation of the sun. Did a 2 night, and then a 3 night camping trip, and then used it during our last power outage. All on the same handful of D batteries. And they still aren't dead. Check out the reviews on YT
  21. A retired chief of police from some town in NY makes 3k a month doing a Facebook Live 10 minute conversation from the front seat of his car about various things in the news every day, and then putting it on YT. He probably made about 5k just rattling on about the Jeffery Epstein drama. And then, according to my wife's friend, there is some gal that shares videos of stuff that her pet ferret does....and was recently able to quit her full time job at a pharmacy. Nobody has a reason to live broke anymore. 🙂👍
  22. I have had zero training in managing flood control thru hydro electric dams, but I am 100% confident that I could do a better job of it. Hell the last generation of ACOE and GE higher-ups handled it just fine, even through the floods of '93-'95, and never to my memory had everyone perplexed about what in the holy f*** they were doing. I guess the question to ask is.....What factor is involved now that makes us "dumbasses" have concerns about the retardedness level of the ones in charge these days? Surely there is something that us regular people just don't know.....and why does that something have to be a secret?
  23. Here we go again, and please don't take this personally because #1 you're among my favorite people on here, and #2 I really don't give a hoot.....but how can you/they say that Lake O doesn't play into it? You can't tell me that the reason Truman held water all last year (lapping the top of the flood gates) and the reason they are holding 11-14' of excess water NOW isn't because they are afraid to take L.O. over 660. Effective flood control NEEDS to be adjusted on a whim....and it obviously is. There's no waiting from approval from Congress before every adjustment or change in flow. If that were the case then they'd NEVER be able to manage the Memorial day level of Lake O every single year and have it miraculously land perfect each time. Everything your standing firm on is contradictory to the words that came out of the ACOE's mouth at the meeting last year in Warsaw. It's still on the record, word for word, and can be Googled. Have you heard/read it?

  25. Ok well the RIO Agent X stuff is really REALLY good. It drives me crazy to let it soak all night long because once I start cleaning line I just wanna get it done the same evening, but it feels like it's gonna last quite awhile. The micro abrasive cloth that comes in the kit does a great job of scrubbing off the crud too. Alot of what I thought was cracked line was just baked on crud. It smoothed up nice. 👍
