  1. Not really, but I sure do appreciate it. I told you and another guy that I was wanting some and he and his boy both killed one and brought me both set of wings. 😊 Probably last me the rest of my life. It was his boys first gobbler, so I am tying him up a few Muddlers in a shadow box (since they don't flyfish). The 5th thru the 7th feathers on each side seem perfect for Muddlers wings.
  2. 😊 Everyone has their own story to tell. My dad seeked his treatment and he would probably still be here today had he not. It's a gamble. I am actually overcome with turkey wings now. Appreciate you holding some for me though. Tie yourself some original Muddlers. 😊
  3. Of course you have it. I have it...my wife has it...We all have it. Leave it alone.
  4. Allow me to not disappoint 😊 I can tell by the terminology you're using that you've been jacking with doctors. My advice is to avoid his place of business unless you have a broken bone that needs setting, or a severe laceration that needs to be cleaned and sewn back up. There's nothing at the pharmacy that will do you any good either, so avoid that place unless they throw a sale on band-aids, Tampons, or something like that. Every other ailment you have, or THINK you have can be cured with time, smart exercise, and a balanced diet. The human body has amazing healing powers if you'll just allow it without getting impatient, throwing in the towel and handing over control of your health to some doctor and pharmacist. If doing something hurts....then slow down. If it starts hurting worse then stop for awhile, and when the hurt goes away try again. Eventually you'll be back to normal, or at least as good or better than you will ever be by going to the doctor. People get impatient when they don't feel good. They are in hurry to feel good again and they think doctors and synthetic drugs are the answer. It isn't. It takes time. Sometimes it takes more time than you wish it did, but that's just life. If I had listened to doctors I would have had Knee surgery, shoulder surgery, a double bypass, treating diabetes, and eye surgery. I elected to have NONE OF THAT, and today I am just fine. No pain, strong as I need to be, full erection, and my vision is just fine. So I don't even bother going to them anymore.
  5. They might be choosing who is included in the survey. I got the survey emailed to me, but my daughter, neighbor, and one other friend did not get the email. And the MDC does have all of their email addy's on file.
  6. That's actually a good point. If you want your response to be considered then you should probably answer YES to the first question (Do you gig?).
  7. I am all for eliminating a number of worthless money-sucking programs and using that money to put more agents out there, pay them overtime and having them actually doing something. And yes, sometimes that means they might miss a few late night TV shows. It's ok, they can record them.
  8. If that's the case then they aren't alluding to it. Supposedly they are concerned about high water dock damage and are being proactive to insure that the lake stays below 660.0 no matter what, because it got over that twice in one year and everybody freaked out. The low water effects the white bass spawn in a bad way but doesn't seem to bother the LM, Catfish, or the Crappie that much.
  9. The first step to ignoring someone is to tell them you are ignoring them. 😀
  10. Well that solves that! So you CAN "go back". Good to know.
  11. Yeah it wasn't always like that. The new generation of Ameren heads seem to be very worried about the lake ever reaching full pool, so now they draw the lake down earlier in the Fall and CAREFULLY ease it up just before memorial day. The slightest hint of any substantial precipitation will have them pulling plugs like crazy. The previous generation was real good at keeping the lake at a much more stable level, closer to 659. and winter drawdowns weren't so drastic.
  12. If they were doing what they do now on a 3rd of the money they have, then I'd agree that they were doing a pretty good job.
  13. No problem with gears, shafts, bearings, seals, but if you have a freeze break or an impact that trashes the housing and/or bearing carrier then you're out of luck. You'll have to find a complete used lower unit. There's quite a few out there still available. Carb kits and fuel pump kits are still available, but a common problem with the old inline Merc's is a vacuum leak around the vertical throttle shaft that also causes them to drip raw fuel constantly, the only fix is new carbs....and they are NLA. Reeds are also NLA. Ignition parts are NLA for the most part, or so rediculously expensive that nobody wants to go there.
  14. Never said I "wanted them to stop cutting grass". My point was THAT is about the only ongoing thing at the accesses that requires continuing payment.
  15. If that was the only rediculous and/or halfass thing they did then "who cares" would definitely apply. Far from it. For the amount of money they have at their disposal the performance they display overall is a disgrace. And the part that fires me off like a bottle rocket is when they say things like "cut our funding and accesses will be closed and gated off". Boy oh boy...that statement shot my blood pressure up so fast it made my ears start ringing. Those accesses have been paid for many times over, so even if the MDC were COMPLETELY defunded they should still belong to the people and remain open. If they wanna quit cutting the grass FINE ! That constitutes a "WHO CARES" that is 100% valid.
  16. That depends on what the question is.
  17. Oh their finger is on the pulse, otherwise SURELY they wouldn't be tinkering with species and making decisions on whether new species should be introduced in order to combat certain things. The agents have nothing to do with it, their job is to enforce regulations and to keep an eye on things. They aren't the ones solely in charge of collecting info on a certain body of water. Agents aren't even present during most electro-shock surveys, and probably don't even concern themselves with the data aquired after a survey has been completed. Surely you have read their population summaries on various bodies of water, but if not, when I have time I can point you to a bunch that publish population densities of "good" or "excellent" where that is demonsterably not accurate, and never has been. Again, why even bother? Just say "yeah we dunno, should be a few in there. Go find out!".
  18. It isn't "government bashing", it just venting frustration. Why even bother (waste time....which is YOUR money too) providing "information" just so there is something there. Accuracy is unimportant....just throw something up to make it look good. Really? You're too bored to be frustrated at that? Better man than I. If I ever work on a boat for ya I'll just wipe some wires off, shoot a little engine cleaner on it.....so it looks like I really did something. Don't come complaining later and bore us all with your piddlyass complaints about how your money was chillin' in my bank while you paddled back to the ramp. Just be happy with the fact that you even have a boat. Personally I don't care one bit about their "fishing reports", but IMO (and my standards truly aren't that high) it's pretty typical about the way they operate overall.
  19. Absolutely. I'd challenge anyone to find a better source.
  20. There's only one "marina" on this lake that has anyone there that fishes year round. And I know for a fact they've never been contacted by MDC for a fishing report. I promise that you'd get a kick out of it if they did though.
  21. Alarm? My dog is my alarm. He comes in, snorts in my face, grabs one of my shoes and runs in the living room with it. I either have to get up or go buy new shoes.
  22. Funny, ain't it? The ones you'd expect to truly have their finger on the pulse...... Clueless. There's no money in it for them.
  23. Maybe if it was thrown in a fajita. I dunno, just have a thing with wild birds I guess. I like quail and dove, but turkey and waterfowl..... I'd rather have the stuff from the local deli.
  24. Can I get a couple sets of matched wing feathers? I wanna do up a dozen traditional muddlers, but I'm not a fan of wild thunder-chicken. They'd just go to waste in my freezer.
  25. It may be fine. If the line has no cracks just give it a good stretch and wash it. Wipe off the reel, put a single drop of oil on the axle and go fishing.
