I need to work on this. I'm the world's worst about ignoring my seat belt, and the sad part is that I have rubbed off on my wife. When we first started dating she would put her seat belt on faithfully every time..... and now she doesn't.

Left the fly gear at home and went full bore after the Whites today from 1:45 until dark. Water temp 57-59° and very clean (it isn't often that I can have the sensitivity on the sonar turned up to 85% without blacking out the screen). Shad weren't just everywhere but when you found them the schools were huge. I hit 5 good areas before finding a school of whites that would bite, caught 6 big fat ones right away, then they quit me. Sat down, drank a beer and smoked a cig then made another pass and picked up 2 more. That was it. The best bait for me was a 1/4oz. RedEye Shad rattlebait (chrome sexy). I was surprised when I cleaned them that all 8 were females with about 1/2 egg production complete, and all were pure whites. No mutts.

When I was a late teen I worked as a CATV Lineman, and we had the best climbing gear money could buy.... but I worked as a sub-contractor and got paid "piece work", and of course that safety gear slowed me down. I've burnt more than my fair share of creosote covered pine. A flannel shirt will cling to a tree or pole and will save your life, but those splinters are a mofo! I couldn't do it nowadays, I get light-headed just standing on a chair.

They never say this, but the majority of falls occur as the person is getting in or getting out of the stand. She may very well have had the harness on while in the stand. It doesn't say whether her gun was tied to a rope or just laying somewhere. If it wasn't tied to a rope then we can assume that she violated rule #1 which is "DON'T BE AN IDIOT".

If you think you can convince me to stay onboard and fight the fire, save your breath I only have extinguishers on my boats to keep from getting hassled by the WP. Couldn't care less if they work or not to be honest. Seen too many boat fires where things escalated quickly.....and violently. Have friends with gauze textured faces and arms. I'm extra special/careful to be sure that me and my customers don't have fires. Surely you've heard me preach about 3+year old batteries and voltage regulators before. Fishing? Yeah let's do that sometime.

Critters are good at staying hidden if they want to. There's a woodlot of less than a square mile just East of my house, and from the sound of it when they all start yiping and barking at night there must be 25+ foxes living on it. But it's rare that we ever see one. The same with skunks. Never EVER see one on foot, but come February the roads will be littered with dead ones. Happens every year. Heard a bobcat squalling just the other night, but I haven't seen one in probably 10 years. I'm 54 years old, been in the woods and on the rivers my whole life and still wouldn't know a whippoorwill if I saw one.

That falls under "shoddy maintenance".
-
I have more "incoherent drivel" for ya. Here goes.. Fire extinguishers are for boats that receive shoddy maintenance, and for owners who play with jumper cables. If you're on a boat and it catches on fire....Go Swimming! There's nothing on your insurance policy that says you have to stick around and try to fight the fire. You have gas and 3 hot batteries on board that can blow IMMEDIATELY, so GTFO the boat NOW. To hell with that fire extinguisher. I'll take hypothermia over burning any day of the week. That's why your "god" threatens to throw you in a pit of fire rather than dump you naked on the North Pole.
-
If you'll give me a few examples of "incoherent drivel" that I posted I'll try to correct it and do better going forward. Appreciate the criticism, honestly.

You're so cute. I am normally carrying on a conversation with guys that are at least somewhat interested. Biggest difference here is that if one person here ever asked me to shut up because I was messing up their use of the forum I would apologize and do it. I am aware that plenty of my content doesn't entertain everyone, but I try to be genuinely helpful at every opportunity to make up for that. Calling me, and Al, and Mitch, and Marty, and anyone else that often has good answers to various things a "know it all" is showing your jealous side. There's plenty I don't know about alot of topics. ALOT. But when it comes to fishing, boating, outdoorsy stuff...yeah I've usually got some answers because I've been doing it excessively all of my life. Big deal. I don't know it all, and that's why I'm here bouncing thoughts around, there's always the chance that I'll be accurately corrected and improve myself. You hate me and wouldn't admit that you had ever learned anything useful from my posts, but I bet you have. You, on the other hand, have made me better at recognizing a backstabbing phoney that pretends to be a "friend". And I thank you for that. It will certainly serve me well in the future. You must be a music know it all...for knowing which LZ song that is.

They have been saying it for a long time, and it is actually a very good point that we quickly throw aside because it interferes with our pleasure. I'd personally like to see it at least be mandatory immediate release just like we do for short fish that we can't legally keep. I mean, if hauling fish around by the thousands every week of the year and releasing them later in the day at a boat ramp somewhere does no harm at all.... then why can't we do that with short fish? Why must we release THEM immediately? By not allowing that, they are admitting that it indeed does harm, but yet trying to get answers about excessive fish relocation, and suggesting immediate C&R for competitive fishing events gets totally ignored. They won't even acknowledge that anyone ever mentioned it. " We just don't talk about things like that"

Top of the main forum list page I believe. Doesn't work anymore though, it's just a direct link to everything MoCarp has posted for the last couple days, and those posts don't go away until you've read them.....then they come right back after he adds yet another lame stolen photo or redundant link. Hopefully the ignore thing works to restore the simplicity of hanging out here.
-
No I was assuming/hoping that you would understand and be cool.
-
Alright bro, here's the deal, and if you don't get it this time then I'm done with you and I guess I'll try the ignore option. Many of us regulars use the "View new posts" as our main link to this forum, it's the quickest and easiest way to keep track of all our buddies here. Everyone BUT YOU has other things to do but we wanna maintain contact with people we enjoy BSing with, and we've always been able to do that until you showed up. Since you started this crusade thing there is no more "checking in quickly" because now we have to wade through all your stuff that is ALWAYS AT THE TOP, and there's always ALOT OF IT. Too much. You're a smart dude, I like you, and I think everyone enjoys having you here SOMETIMES but your incessant posting is bothering people and messing up what used to be an enjoyable and manageable outlet, even for folks that are pretty busy. Does that really not matter to you? I'm not even sure how the ignore feature works. If I simply ignore you can I get back the good old days when checking in here was quick and simple, or will I still have to scroll through 20 yards of your stupidity (it's not really stupidity but I'm calling it that because I'm frikken sick of it) searching for the few threads or comments hidden between your mountains upon mountains of link sharing, cut&paste, and stolen photo drivel ? Let me just point blank ask you.....Is there any way to get you to STFU, or am I going to have to create a new place and invite everyone but you ? Totally serious now.

Let's take a break from Carpology for the Winter and get a degree in Bluegill and Redear. Seriously. Because if you do this all Winter long there is gonna be a SHTF event before February. I guarantee it. I'm sorry but I'm not buying the extra curricular activities you claim. There isn't enough time between your posts to do anything other than go pee and nuke a TV dinner.

Throw in a van and I'm ready to talk. -
Yeah anywhere you can drive a sedan right down within spitting distance of the river is most definitely a carp hole.

Ya got me there It was either eat the boiled bacon, or get up and cook my own breakfast. I pretty much knew what it was gonna taste like before I ate it. I could have passed. I never puked though so everything turned out ok. -

I'm almost unconsolable. My whites won't eat flys, and it's like my wife left me for some big-bearded tatooed clown that drives a Ford and runs a 4-stroke. Then to add insult to injury I caught the corner of my tool cart on a wiring harness and jerked a $2000 tilt/trim assembly off on the concrete floor. I could just cry.

Somebody Stole a Shipment of Bass Pro Guns.
fishinwrench replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Chat
I seriously doubt that they didn't. But I don't see any valid or worthwhile reason to care. People have pissed their lives away trying to prove government involvement in all kinds of dirty deeds, and for the most part they have proved it, beyond a reasonable doubt. But it all ends there, because who has the authority to do anything about it? It's best to just not care.
