  1. I must say, that is the most satisfying idea I've ever had for getting rid of the stuff.
  2. I think my biggest concern with this extremely cush plea deal is the message it sends to other officers. After "Mo. vs. Piercy" any officer in this state can pretty much do whatever he/she wants, lie about it afterwards, and not be the slightest bit concerned about any serious repercussions even if the lies are clearly exposed and witnesses number in the teens. Just wait and see....there will be no legitimate prosecuting of LEO's in Missouri from here on out, no matter what dasturdly crap one of them might pull.
  3. Eric lit up first. Besides, that's what he gets for cooking us boiled bacon. That ---- was nasty!
  4. The gravel analogy is pretty spot on. What's the difference? Since it's perfectly ok for them to throw a giant wake in my direction is it also ok for me to throw a rock in their direction? No? A stick? No? Ok fine, how about a water balloon? .....full of old gear lube. That'd be ok, right?
  5. Awesome! How deep is the channel in these spots?
  6. You are just full of it, aren't you? I think we need to find you a job. Wanna re-carpet a boat ?
  7. Right on. I'm a smoker, but I don't go into a place where nobody else is smoking and light up. I would consider it rude and inconsiderate, the same as pulling up on the banks of a calm quiet lake and blasting my stereo. Sound carries over water like crazy. Some folks (I call them idiots) either don't realize that or don't care.
  8. Ramman, how do you feel about smoking in restaurants ?
  9. So the NFOW fish don't get that ? What are they eating that keeps the flesh whitish-tan?
  10. Ya reckon? What would a white meat rainbow from NFOW indicate? Or a pink meat bow from zone 2 at Bennett ? I've seen both, so while I've heard the pink meat thing before I'm not sure it is a real thing.
  11. They used to be, but that was before LOZ became the playground of some very wealthy people. We change the rules for wealthy folk in this country, haven't you noticed? If you wanna calm the seas then you need to get a bunch of wealthy guys into fishing...... They'll get sick of the rough water and THEN things will change. Right now the big wakes don't bother them, but as soon as it does things will calm down drastically.
  12. Black powder guys do this thing called "Barking squirrels", which is where you don't actually hit the squirrel but you hit the limb so close to him that the concussion of the ball hitting the limb knocks the squirrel dead. By their line of thinking this should be a legal way to kill squirrels during the off season. Right? Because you didn't shoot the squirrel.
  13. It always cracks me up when people start bitchin' about somebody bitchin'. And now here we have someone bitching MORE about the person that started bitchin' about whatever they were bitchin' about. It's to the point that Ronnie is on the verge of bitchin' about Ramman's bitchin' about Mocarp's bitchin'. And if he does I'm gonna start bitchin' at HIM. Then we can have a full circle bitchfest, since I initially bitched about what Mocarp was bitchin' about. It never fails. Somebody starts bitchin, and then others either join in on the bitchin' or they start bitchin' about the guy that's bitchin'. Funniest thing ever!
  14. Well it should since that's where they dump them. I don't know if it's an everytime thing but at one time they were dumping more fish at NRO than they were at 64 access and Barclay combined.
  15. I keep thinking it's going to happen. Could be the next cast. I'm ready. 😋 Just bought a Sage Bolt 8wt. just for the occasion.
  16. I have been getting into them every Fall for several years while fly-fishing for Whites. Always about this size
  17. Sure wouldn't hurt. Nothing will ruin your day worse than wheel bearing failure.
  18. I'm beginning to think the stripers in this lake are stunted. They all measure 14-16".
  19. I can honestly say that I see no reduction in bearing failure since the introduction of Bearing Buddy's. The killer is the rear hub seal. Once it goes then water gets in and grease goes out. Bearing Buddy's do not have enough spring tension to push grease through the outer bearing and into the hub, they only keep water from coming in from the outer side. The best, and really the only thing, you can do is to have so much grease in the hub and in the hub caps that there is no room for very much water. If you do that then there is really no need for Bearing Buddy's.
  20. Y'all debate politics on your own time? Good grief 😯
  21. Listen here, everyone including my neighbors, my customers, my dog, and I'm sure EAGLES, has no respect whatsoever for MY breeding season, so I will rip back and forth under an eagle nest with a 2-stroke outboard anytime I want to.
  22. What? No co-eds with big titties? That place looks more like a country club with a Harley Davidson shop next door.
  23. Al reads alot. You can always tell a guy who has spent alot of time with nose in book as soon as they start writing/typing. 👍😀
  24. I took a boat ride worse than that yesterday and managed to keep the floor dry. Not sure what those dudes were freaking out so bad about.
  25. I can't stay quiet about this any longer 😁 The long standing and perpetually repeated theory that bass follow creek channels to and from one area to another like we follow roads, and seek out points of land to live on is not doing us any favors in our search for fish on any given day. I have never spent any time down there swimming with the fishes, and I have never been part of any mass bass tracking study, but I have chased fish around long enough to form a different theory that I believe is way more accurate. The truth of the matter is that mainlake fish can't follow a creek/river channel in a highland reservoir for very far without experiencing a drastic depth change, so it is much more likely that bass in the mainlake areas simply move along the shoreline at the depth that suits them. Temperature, water clarity, and the availability of food probably determine which depth range preference that will be during any period. A bend in the shoreline (point) or a depression in the shoreline (creek or ditch) might cause them to pause for awhile if there is anything there at that depth that interests them, and if the bend or depression keeps its integrity for a distance then the fish may follow it either deeper or shallower for a short distance, but it's not likely they will live on it and use it as their main point of reference for more than a few hours. A brush pile or rock pile in the proper depth range along a long straight bank is just as likely to hold fish as any point or creek channel/bluff edge. A bass doesn't need or even want to follow a point or ditch when changing depths, he just eases up or down the bank wherever he is when the desire to change depths suits him. It's really that simple. Bass in the upper lake areas possibly relate more to creek channels and points than mainlake fish do because the topography is flatter and they can be followed greater distances without making major depth changes, but the channels and points in those areas are covered in a blanket of silt and sediment below the depth of wave action that keeps the bottom substrate (rocks, gravel, ect.) exposed, and therefore they lack definition. In these upper end areas you have bass that are true home-range critters that probably live their whole lives within a square 1/2 mile or so, and these are the fish that are hurt the most from relocation by tournament anglers. I believe that bass, given the preference, would much rather use flats as resting places vs. vertical structure like steep points and God forbid "bluff walls", but you never hear of guys seeking out flat areas along a sloping bank. Those areas are way more productive for me than points or creek channels, but they have to be in the fishes desired depth range. I promise you that this little area right here is way more dependable than any point, ledge, or creek channel bend I have ever fished. There is no brush or boulders on it whatsoever, and even though there is brush around the dock shown (and the one next to it.....and the one next to that one) you are more likely to catch fish on that little submerged flat than you are around the brush or under the docks if the fish are in that 12-18' depth range. The only explanation is that the fish follow the sloping shoreline and when they come to a flatter area they LIKE IT. They like it more than the nearby brush and more than the shade of the nearby docks. And they like it more than the two points almost within rock throwing distance, or the creek channel bend that is nearer the opposite side of the lake 500 yards away.
