  1. And if decent baitcaster/spinning rigs cost as much as a jet boat you'd see that done all the time. ?
  2. Yes. I'm in Gravois Mills (west side of Lake O) 573-569-5406
  3. I must say..... I'd rather buy Justin a beer than to give someone else a dollar, who then gives it to someone else, who gives it to yet another person who eventually, and supposedly, buys something and gives it to some kid in Whogivesafukistan.
  4. Not only is the bald headed buzzard a thief and a mugger, he is a wasteful cuss. I saw a nice striper snatched up and dragged to the bank one Spring where only the gills and eggs were eaten. 8 pounds of meat was left to rot. In all truth, we couldn't have chosen a more fitting mascot.
  5. I don't think they got burnt. They are just being smart and protecting themselves. If a vendor taking entry's accepts a check this late in the game then the check may not have time to clear the BBB folks account before the time comes to pay out the winnings. No conspiracy, just wise business decisions. Besides, with our current debt collection laws, someone could pay by check then stop payment if they don't receive a check on Sun. Since they received nothing then they could claim that they never participated in the event (for any number of reasons) and prosecuting them for writing a bad check would be near impossible. Nobody heads out for a weekend of fishing without a couple hundred cash on them....so really it's no biggie.
  6. Did I hear right, over 3000 entrys? That's 100 boats per mile from the dam to the Hurricane deck bridge. Law of averages says there will be 220 blown powerheads, 175 gearcase failures, 200+ ignition system failures, 314 fuel system issues, 967 blown livewell or bilge pumps, 159 broken control cables, 635 trolling motor breakdowns, and 72 guys whose engine won't start because the kill switch is unplugged. Y'all have fun fishing. I'm gonna make more money than Donald Trump! ?
  7. We are talking about a HPDI, correct? HPDI= high pressure direct injection. No carburetors. It has a fuel management system, and one of the best ever designed IMO. No offense..... but just take it somewhere reputable for service If you're not more familiar with it than that. If I'm correct in my guess then the end cost shouldn't be that much.
  8. With all the brilliant and amazing things that our vehicles do nowadays, it blows my mind that nobody has considered parking brakes that automatically engage when the truck is put into Park. And why not lock all 4 wheels instead of just the rear two ? These automotive engineers are sleeping on the job. Give me automatic parking brakes and take back the stupid deal that locks the doors when you shift into drive. If I wanna jump out of a moving vehicle I should bygod be free to do so!
  9. There is a fine mesh screen either attached to, or directly under the O2 sensor. When the screen is clogged with carbon it will cause the fuel management system to go rich. It's always going to be 30% richer than default during a cold start. If it smoothes out and idles fine once it is warmed up then the signal from the O2 sensor is likely the reason. If it idles rough even after it is warm then the Throttle position sensor is either bad or mis-adjusted.
  10. We're you not using the parking brake ? Stuff like this haunts me because I launch and load boats on a daily basis, sometimes on steep and sketchy ramps, and while I've never had this happen I'm sure my day is coming. Wheel chocks with a tether are an option I probably need to consider, but I would think the most likely time for it to happen would be while you are getting out to throw the chocks down.....so what's the point? Right?
  11. How do you fish a weightless fluke in 40 fow ? No I get it.... but to think a dock needs 40' nearby in order to have a fish suspended under it is absurd.
  12. Let's discuss improving your odds for large bass.... Deep, shallow, or in between? Main lake, or in the creeks/coves? Methodical dissecting of each area, or cover as much water as possible? Solo or with a partner? Multiple techniques and baits, or stick with what you do best? Would you fish behind other anglers, or burn some gas and try to stay in fresh untouched water? Would you burn up time running to a weigh location and standing in line with a 3-5lber, or not bother with anything under 6? Do you hope it is sunny or cloudy, and how will the weather conditions alter your strategy?
  13. I don't really understand the importance of gun registration, or even background checks. People die every day and most of them own guns. The guns typically are inherited by the next of kin, and that person will die someday also. So what is it that we are keeping track of? Guns can be inherited, sold or given away freely as gifts. The time, money, and effort wasted to "keep track" of who has guns or is buying a gun could be spent alot wiser.
  14. I usually want to fish the riffle areas anyway, so having to stop at each one is just fine.
  15. But how many toy cars did they have ?
  16. I'm confused. What about the water above 30 ft. ?
  17. Actually a "conviction" only requires a plea. Often easily obtained by the prosecutor once the accused runs out of money and can't buy their way to a trial. The whole deal where it's legal to kill someone because you feel threatened is a scary thought. If you come towards me with a big spider on you... you're a dead man.
  18. What was the punishment for carrying concealed without a permit when one was "required"? And did anybody ever get arrested for it in this state?
  19. Casey, you either have a EFI or carb Merc. The system on the Optimax DFI is different. In your case, yes only the cap needs replaced, not the tank. And that system does not have the washer adhered to the float like the Optimax oil reservoir. The actual sensors on those, like yours, never fail, the caps just crack and cause leaks.
  20. Absolutely! Looking forward to the Lake O data. Thank you.
  21. It is not correct. Who wants to own a motor that goes into "save ME not the passengers" mode... over every little piddly thing? And even if it does go into safe mode simply turning the key off then back on resets it. No computer re-programming required.
  22. Says who? Just curious. Water detection sensor signal does not put the ECU into guardian mode.
  23. Oh that's just their way of saying thanks for being a C&R guy. I wish they'd hurry up and finish the Mustang project so the blower can explode in his face. ?
  24. That is a badass looking engine.
  25. Have I ever mentioned that I was born/raised on the Salt and its tribs ? Been on every inch of those rivers. Prop outboard. Swear to dog. ? You read navigable depth by the composition of the banks. Or by dipping a paddle over the side as you ease along. This was before flashers even. You'll only bust a prop or lower unit if you drive like a crazy man and don't pay attention. We never went through very many props. Always carried a spare however.
