200 mecury black max
fishinwrench replied to hung on a rock's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Compression, Ignition, and fuel are all it takes to start an engine. If compression is good on all 6 cylinders, and ignition is strong on all 6 circuits then you can safely assume the problem is with the fuel system. When you did the compression test how did the spark plugs look (any of them look dirtier/cleaner than the others? Any signs of water droplets?) Once narrowed down to a Fuel system issue....Fuel quality is the first thing to check (squeeze some into a glass jar and see how it looks/smells). If it looks and smells good then it's time to test fuel pressure on a EFI or do a carb/pump/and primer overhaul job on a carbureted engine. Inspect the reed valves once the carbs are off. There, that should be enough to keep you busy for a bit. -

5/15 Playing around up by Shorty's
fishinwrench replied to Flatbottom Boy's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
Very cool! We played with the spawning bass all day. Caught 8 keepers and a ton of shorts, but not a single 3+ pounder in the bunch. Spook jr., C-rig lizard, tube jigs, and Senko's all got bit equally well. We didn't see any big shad but the little farts you see everywhere in the Fall are from a different brood than the big gizzards you see in the Spring. LO has both gizzards and threadfins along with another long skinny minnow that my partner calls Brook Silversides.....but I'm not sure that's really what they are. Plenty for fish to eat here that's for sure. -
I know it's not fishing but....

Catching snakes. -
In all seriousness I really thought that posting a dig about transgenders and people who eat anti-depressants, on a fishing forum, was safe. Who the hell knew that there were guys on here that had rods..... but wished they didn't. Or guys that fish.... but are still chronically sad. Am I truly constricted to only high-fiving y'all , or telling you what it's gonna take to get your outboards running decent again? C'mon, don't be such staunch fun suckers.

Really? I can cause tourists to avoid our rivers/streams/lakes? Awesome! What shall we discuss next?

Good point, Spoon. I'd like to see the ones that I know darn well just need a boot in the rear knock it off though. Old plug, the finesse bite is good. Get out there and just take it slow.

I can pass a piss test at anytime, and have probably consumed less alcohol than any of the preachers around here. For the 18th time....what I'm saying is that there are too many people out there gobbling up various medications that they don't need to, and shouldn't be. Turn that comment into whatever forms your desired attitude, but I'm satisfied that it's true. I am lucky that I don't need any, but so are ALOT of people, they just are too physician dependant to realize it.
-
Well you just got placed in the group of cohorts that jump at the opportunity to be offended. If you'll look over my posts you'll see that I wholeheartedly acknowledge that some folks truly do NEED meds. My argument is that a very large and growing number of those that have been told that they need meds, truly don't. And when the day comes that MOST people "need" meds, then we as a species have a serious problem. I consider myself both lucky and smart. I have taken to the mindset that I do not require commercial chemicals in order to survive in the world that I was born in. And so far, in spite of numerous "professional" recommendations, I've been right.

Dangit man, up until I learned that you had watched enough basketball player interviews to pattern them I would have gladly passed you the bowl. But now, you'd be lucky to get a hit of the screen.

This is where y'all get me wrong all the time. I never attempt to prove I'm right, I just explain why I feel the way I do and question why everyone else thinks I'm ignorant for thinking that way. The only thing I ever trained extensively for was outboard engines, everything else I profess to be wise about is strictly from personal observation. I do pay attention to what goes on around me. I watch and listen to all kinds of people and secretly study their "moves". Kinda like fishing you pick up on patterns of behavior and can usually predict what they'll do/say next. It's fun. You guys are like patterning house flys. Open the door on a calm day and the kitchen fills within minutes. Pick up a flyswatter and although you know they are still in the room you can't find but a couple.

Foxworthy also said, "Look at where Jesus went to pick people. He didn't go to the colleges; he got guys off the fishing docks". Translation:. Just because you're smarter doesn't mean you're right.

It blows my mind that all these people claiming to be mentally ill have no problem at all operating their mobile devices and mastering every X-box game in existence, and they seem to have no problem recognizing which expensive in-style shoes to buy. But for some odd reason they can't be trusted to make a grilled cheese sandwich without burning the house down. And how dare you expect them to operate a lawn mower or even a rake. Crap like that infuriates me. Kick them in the butt and stop buying into their bullshit.
-
Dude I'm not disagreeing that there are some people out there with genuine mental disabilities. What I'm saying is that I find it rediculis that in every neighborhood across America there is at least 10 households with antidepressant meds in the medicine cabinet. C'mon now!

Well since you know so much about it, Mark, why don't you cure it and become famous. Lighten up you crazy heathen.
-
Mark, "suffering from depression" is a clinical cliché that never existed until the country was overrun by psychologists who needed more patients. You are either depressed about something that has happened but you are too overwhelmed to change for, or you are depressed for no apparent reason. Pills don't fix it, and psychologist's can't fix it. You are either mentally strong enough to overcome it, or you aren't. What's so mean and ignorant about stating the hard cold facts about it. Tip toeing around facts does not help anyone understand or overcome anything.

Life is full of bummers and hard spells, some of which can really take a temporary toll on you. That's just life. Deal with it in whatever way works for you. If ingesting pharma chemicals is what you think it takes to get through life ...so be it I guess. I see that as a crutch (a mental disorder in itself) that truly does nothing to help you long term. What you are saying is that you are incapable of living very far from a pharmacy. That's sad. I honestly believe you are capable of being mentally stronger than that, but we'll never know.

Wait a minute. If you're a male that wants to be a female, but your not homosexual, then what are you? A male lesbian? How can that work? When people start deciding they wanna be dogs, will it be OK for them to lay around licking their balls, run the neighborhoods pissing on tires, chasing cats and tearing up trash, or will they be considered koo-koo and locked up ? I think it's time to stop pandering to people with mental disorders. Feel sorry for them if you want to, but let's not change the world to accommodate them. Doing so just incites a flurry of that kind of thing.

Yamaha outboards
fishinwrench replied to Gumboot's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Your carb float (or vapor seperator if so equipped) levels are not set right. Not a big deal but you are using more fuel than you should be and there is probably some carbon buildup happening. Pull your spark plugs and see if one or more are dirtier than the others. I bet so. And yeah, I love that smell too. -
Yamaha outboards

Awesome. That rig will be good to you. Run it a few times without the hydrofoil and see. Some rigs it actually helps, others get them put on because the previous owner either thought they looked cool, or didn't know how to drive a boat. If it handles good without it then you're better off not having it on there. -
What gave you THAT impression ? Quick question: Have you ever sipped a beer at Bennett Springs state park?
