  1. Spend a Sunday afternoon in Laurie, Mo. right after church gets out. People dressed to kill...and acting like being killed is exactly what they need.
  2. Depends. There's alot of different kinds of fishing going on, so if you looked like you were shooting docks for crappie and a bass fisherman pulled in ahead of you and proceeded to work down the bank towards a point then I can't get upset at the bass fishermen. A week ago some catfishermen were anchored on a shallow flat and I worked over the logs pretty close to them. Close enough that we had a short conversation at normal volume. Nobody got uptight. But if a guy had been out on that flat obviously bass fishing it I wouldn't have pulled in on him. You can usually tell what kind of fishing someone is doing, and if the kind of fishing YOU are doing isn't going to effect them then go for it. If I am bass fishing and a crappie guy pulls in ahead of me to shoot a dock that's fine with me. I've picked up some good clues/tips by having another fisherman within sight. Sometimes you see them catch one doing something that you hadn't considered......so next time instead of getting all worked up, pay attention, keep an eye on them and you might learn something.
  3. I think if you're averaging 60+ per day then it's time to up your game and only count the ones 15" and over. You probably won't need a clicker then.
  4. Dang, Pomme is fishing well ! Awesome!
  5. Soft plastic "worms" are not legal in Z2, BUT rubber legs or foam and other synthetic material IF tied on permanently with thread are. Your jig and midge dropper is fine as long as the jig doesn't have a plastic worm/grub slid into it.
  6. Yeah. But he has been absent for too long. I had his number but lost it on my last phone crash.
  7. Yeah, if you don't feel comfortable launching and loading solo then just don't do it. The ramp I use most often is slicker than a greased cat below the water line. Everytime I see someone wading in to launch/load a boat it makes me cringe. 8 times out of 10 they go down like a sack of bricks then slide to the end of it as they struggle to stand back up.
  8. That dude just vanished. That's what happens when you buy a Suzuki. No seriously, where'd that sumbitch go ?
  9. My method assures that if BY CRAZY CHANCE you have a starting problem, then it's no problem getting the boat back on the trailer. Cuz it's already there, just gotta winch it back up a foot. If a fella who isn't physically able to crawl in his boat, slides it off on a tether and then it doesn't start.....then how the hell is he gonna get it back on the trailer and get it pulled back out ?
  10. Awesome ! Now go get'em.
  11. I pull in until I see the back of the boat float up off the bunks, then I unhook the bow eye and shove the boat back about a foot. Hop in the boat and power it off the trailer. Even when my knee was all jacked up I was able to do it. Just gotta watch your step and don't get in a hurry. Now with a deep V boat that is harder to crawl up over the nose from standing on the trailer frame....either take a ladder or drop your tailgate and hop over the bow from there. If you still can't do it then it's time for some physical therapy, excersize, or a serious diet. The rope technique only works if the wind is right. It's just as easy to step up in a boat from the trailer frame as it is to step into it from the bank.
  12. All I know is that you can't have a beer in your possession unless you are paying the park for a canoe rental..... and then you can have all the liquor you are capable of carrying.
  13. Oh Goodie !
  14. The HMG is one of the greatest rod blanks ever. If not for the change in handle design I'd own a boatload of them. They will break if you misuse them or do something stupid...but as for balance and sensitivity they are among the best, and at a moderate price.
  15. Hoping for a 1.5' rise on our pond soon so I can get in on this action. Y'all are killin' me.
  16. Smart guy ! Study first...THEN reach for tools.
  17. No the mechanical tiller should pull the timer base back, the throttle cam follows under spring tension. Don't go adjusting too much before you know what you are doing, or you'll get the throttle pickup timing all out of whack.
  18. The throttle cam, yes, but the timer base....No. Depending on the year/model it is either pulled back via cable or gear (mechanical) tension. It is probably dry and sticky under the flywheel and needs to be removed/cleaned/lubed/reset.
  19. Make sure that the rotating timer base (the part that turns under the flywheel when the throttle is moved) is rotating fully back to its preadjusted stop. Then check the idle speed screw. It is located beside the carb(s) at the throttle cam linkage. Turn it CC to lower idle speed.
  20. Yep, I need to do that too. So many fish/so little time.
  21. Sunday was a kick in the nuts for us. Fought that rediculis wind all day long for 2 piddly keepers and a couple of big drum. Then I hear that several strong limits were caught on BUZZBAITS ! Who'da thunk it. If my partner had tied on a buzzbait I would have looked at him like he had lost his mind. Just when you start thinking that you know everything......
  22. I'll be darn. That is the same fish, isn't it ?
  23. No no. She's going to live out the rest of her days in luxury.
  24. Yep! And that Towee is freakin' SWEET ! Pretty sure I need one.
  25. Yay ! A few customers might get a little cranky but I'm playing hooky tomorrow.
