I guess one way to get it done would be to appear in court when/if given a summons for failure to register. Have property tax receipts in hand and ask the judge to direct you to the person who can take your money and make you legal. Surely you can't be cited for failure to register a vessal if registering is impossible via state agency's. They'll have to think of something else to charge you with. Maybe you can have it Coast Guard documented....which doesn't require state registration ?

Well in a more perfect world something so trivial and simple would be a breeze, but the world we live in has people working for the DMV that get off on making your life as miserable as possible. Therefore my advise is to not even bother with registration in this case. Run it, and IF you get busted pay the fine. Trust me, the quality of your life will be better doing it that way.

Ours haven't made a peep yet. Daffodils are popping up though. -

The first step to any kind of restoration is to closely examine the transom and the cap to hull attachment. Fish&Ski type boats typically have a very strong transom but are a little weak at the bow. Remove the rub rail and check out what kind of movement has been happening where the cap meets the hull, chances are that you'll find some areas that need attention. Older boats of that era were simply screwed or riveted together and those holes will have alot of slop in them. If you can access the underside of the cap at the bow, look to see how you can sturdy that area up because FS boats aren't built very strong up front and a heavy trolling motor mount will start tearing the nose apart in choppy water. Once you've verified the transom is still solid, and you have tightened everything back down BETTER THAN THE FACTORY DID, then you can modify the deck and interior any way you want. Have fun! Edit: oh and post some pics.

I don't give you any trouble. I can't remember the last time I said anything directly to you that wasn't a reply.

Me refusing to work on their boats/motors isn't going to keep them from doing what they do. Now is it? And I have said things to their face. Told a group of bowfishers that if I started seeing stuck bass out here on the flat that we were gonna have trouble.

No I didn't hear that. What I heard was that they DIDN'T lose many at all, but were concerned about POSSIBLY loosing some in the future from "delayed mortality".

Bigger and way more technologically advanced Hatchery = Less fish. Got it.

Fishing shows and guys making videos are the worst. We see it already and yes it's a nice one..... Now let it go and THEN tell your story or pimp your baits! Someone mentioned holding your breath while the fish is out of the water. Not a bad idea. Getting them back in the water ASAP is the biggie. ASAP to be taken literally.

Look man, a bunch (almost all) of us here LOVE Smallmouth. So knowing that they are being needlessly killed and the people who get paid WELL to protect them don't seem to think it is a problem worth any type of action. THAT is frustrating to a bunch of us. The cold hard fact is that only a select few that gig do so ethically, and even the few that ethically gig openly admit to the occasional mistake. So crowning me jackass of the month for having an attitude about ALL giggers is weird. I work on their darn boats, so me slamming giggers on an open forum where everyone knows who I am is kinda like cutting my own throat....but I don't care. I enjoy smallmouth more than I enjoy money I guess.

Captured for posterity. Regardless of which "self" I'm being, it is a given that you will be annoyed by it. I'm running with the same crowd I've been running with for YEARS. No change on my end.

Who's upset ? I personally haven't frowned for at least 2 months. You have a faulty comprehension thing going on. Or something. I understand Ronnie being pissy cuz he lives in an estrogen war zone. But you......? Whatever.

I don't understand this bitching about threads that you wish you didn't have to read. Guess what? You don't have to read them. I don't read the cooking thread. Know why? It's boring to me. I just skip it. It's like magic, I'm not bothered by it.
-
I didn't "drag it up". I just speak my mind about it when it does get drug up. Why does that bother YOU ? Brian Jones drug it up. And if you don't wanna read the thread then don't friggin' click on it.

The 54 Niangua bridge, or the 54 Glaize bridge?

A buddy and I were fishing just above Prosperine one evening, and 3 dudes launched a gigging rig and made their way up past us. About 20 minutes later a dead Smallie floats past us, then 10 minutes later here comes another one...a nice one too (15-16"). It was getting dark so we headed back down to the truck, collecting the 2 Smallies along the way. No phone service at Prosperine or I would have just called the hotline and stuck around until an agent got there. I put the two fish on the hood of their truck and pulled the valve stem cores from both trailer tires to keep them there awhile and put the valve stem cores under the windshield wipers. Called the hotline when I got to the top of the hill and had service. I doubt that they even sent anyone out there. So there, Chief, I have done SOMETHING.

Well Spoon, killing a bass with hook and line is legal. Killing them with gigs, arrows, electricity, and dynamite is not. The point of conflict is that a blind eye is being turned, and guys like you and Chief don't seem to mind. Others do.

I think it could be quite simple. They should put up signs at all accesses saying that when the number of confirmed gigged sportfish has reached a sufficient number then gigging will be prohibited on this river for a period of 7-12 years.

Hmm, been patiently waiting for another George Cochran win and it hasn't paid off. Impatience probably helps build good fishing skills moreso than patience. Waiting for things to improve on their own is a sure way to skunk.

Interesting geometry on that Schwinn, Ness. I'd take a header on that bike without a drop of liquor in me.

Ain't no golf cart gonna pass me ! Looking to buy a 4-wheeler this year. Anyone have one for sale that hasn't been badly mistreated ?
