  1. That was awesome! And something you'd have to pay a hell of a lot for in ANY campsite. Right, Jason? You hit a freakin' goldmine by getting it all for free.
  2. He looks pretty cagey in that second pic. Good luck getting a shot on HIM !
  3. Back then it HAD TO BE a Yamamoto. And if you loaded them into your box wrong you'd ruin them. They were expensive pieces of crap but they DID catch fish. I'm all non-garlic Chompers now.
  4. I think I know what's down there...... A 1-3' deep blanket of silt covering everything except the steepest of ledges where it hasn't built up yet, similar to the landscape after a blizzard. This is why I prefer fishing shallow areas where wave action and periodic drawdowns keep things swept relatively clean. Fish (especially bass) really don't care much for fluffy mucky bottoms. Cats might burrow down in that yucky crap but I'm surprised they can even breathe in it.
  5. PDT fishes great in the Winter and Spring. It's pretty tough in the Summer, and I don't think I've ever fished it in the Fall. Looking through my old journals I see that back in '96 I won a little club tourney there in mid- Sept. with a whoppin' 9lbs. Those 13 inchers were caught on the ledge in the take-off cove within sight of my truck. . 5" Yamamoto hula grub.
  6. True. Snapping turtles are another story.

    What's Cooking?

Seeking out elder female contractors for hire now. You're hornier than a pet coon !
  8. Because you can patrol a trout park without getting out of your truck and getting mud on your shoes. Those guys have to look clean and neat at all times, they can't just go walking off into the woods, breaking a sweat and getting all dirty. Look at the pics of them in the Conservationist Mag....... Clean shaven, not a hair out of place, manicured nails, shiney shoes, pressed slacks. Very dapper !
  9. Pfffft! Whatever. Those dudes haven't been more than 50 yards from their truck in the entre time they have been employed by MDC. They are afraid they might get into stick-tights or pick up a tick.
  10. To hell with the weights..... What's it gonna do to the supply of Wiggle Warts ?
  11. Oh no you don't ! I discovered this magnificent life form and since nobody else, biologists included, can positively identify them then THEY ARE MINE ! They are "WrenchBoogers" and I'm pretty sure that they should be added to the endangered species list until further studies can be made. I'm applying for federal funding now, and if that goes through I'll be putting down my tools, retiring FAT, and closing off Gravois creek to all further dredging and/or development. Thank you for your participation, and I'll see you all at the next Bilderberg meeting. If you would like to donate, please visit www.wrenchbooger.com and navigate to the donation page. Note: Donations of 50.00 or more will receive a "Save the WrenchBooger" T-shirt and key fob.
  12. Well hey, he IS a biologist ! Seriously, that has to be the biggest phoney-baloney job in existence. I'm sorry, but for the love of Pete..... The stuff that they know is either worthless or wrong 99.9% of the time. Drives me crazy.
  13. What IS that thing licking the carps asshole ? Cat or Dog ?
  14. That fish is actually kinda pretty, in a buttugly kinda way. Nice job, bro. I've never caught one.
  15. Where's all the hotshot BIOLOGISTS when you need one ? Considering where they came from I have to doubt that they are snail spawn. The little tube/tail thing that each of them has should be the give away. Do snails have those?
  16. Get your Pomme tourney out of the way and gimme a shout, or shoot me a text. 573-569-5406
  17. Is that an invitation ? Let's do an afternoon in your area, then an afternoon in mine......then discuss the comparison over a cold beer or two. Wanna ?
  18. Not 100% sure because I've been both places in the last several days. It seems to take 3-4 days for them to dry out and turn dark, otherwise you really can't see them. They either came from up above Proctor cr. or here in the Gravi.
  19. No shell, a few that were still kinda wet are the consistency of a booger.
  20. Maybe not Zebra's but regular mussels ? The little tube/tail thing is what makes me think it is a mussel of some kind.
  21. They are a bitch to clean off. You have to scratch them off with a fingernail or plastic scraper then scrub like hell to get the remnants of each one off. Total PIA ! I apparently ran through a big cloud of them. Quite a few above the waterline but thickest at the bow right at the water line.
  22. Some kind of larva. Zebra mussels ? My bass boat hull is covered in them and I'm seeing them on customers boats too. They are transparent until they dry out, then they turn black.
  23. Problem ? I hadn't realized that there was a problem I just want some more color in the water to put them on a wicked buzzbait bite.
  24. Right, I'm seeing 73-76. I would like to see us get an inch or two of nice cool rain.
