  1. Yo Nessie, bring me up to your level here. I'm lost :?
  2. Ness is a flatlander. Wayne already has too much sh!t. Ronnie will just take pictures of it and never get it wet. And Gavin is a Blockhead kinda guy. So that narrows it down to Jason, Jpb, RVC, and Me!
  3. Is it run by the people that have the restaurant in the cave ?
  4. Whaaa....?
  5. It really doesn't matter how deep it is unless there's something down there that fish want. There's really no need to "pattern fish" a 5 acre pond....just fish it ALL. I think you'll find that almost every decent fish that comes from small-med sized ponds will bite within 10' of the bank, regardless of the available depth.
  6. Kinda ironic isn't it? What about those cow farts that were giving us cancer causing sunburns? First we were told that darn near everything we loved to do caused cancer...... Now we're told that everything we love to do prevents it !
  7. Seth, try concentrating on the little micro-eddys along the shoreline that are created by roots, rocks, ect. Hard to beat a Texas rigged 4" tube with a 3/16 weight shoved up its butt. Get in tight to the bank and fish parallel when you can, keeping your line from laying across the faster water. The bigger (obvious) eddys are less productive IMO (or too full of carp). That's all I got.
  8. Yep, you're rockin' it! Awesome! Now where the hell are you fishing ?????
  9. Why launch at PB2? There are a dozen good ramps located between Shawnee Bend to Dam and the upper Gravi.... if you want to fish the Northshore to Gravois area. All those extra miles are better placed upon your land vehicle. As for the roughfish, I'd say that gar are overpopulated in most bodies of water.....but before I can declare that I have to look at how overpopulated the shad are. I think we need all the help we can get as far as keeping the shad in check. Too mu h food in the water is not a good thing. There needs to be a balance, so as fun as it seems to me I cant get behind bowfishing just for the sake of shooting practice or "scores". I'm sure there's a way to anchor underwater targets if that's all it is about. Kinda like 3-D bow shoots. Killing living critters just for the hell of it with no purpose or science indicating that it needs to be done is freaking sick! I make an exception to ticks, monkeys and spiders however.
  10. In a situation where blind curves are present you're safer in a canoe. At least you can hear a jet coming and usually have ample time to hug the bank. Then again......if it is a dreaded whispering 4-STROKE you just might not.
  11. Still amazed that the PWC hatch hasn't taken hold in the rivers yet. That will add considerably to the excitement. Shouldn't be much longer, right?
  12. Getting there is half the fun. Getting BACK takes it away.
  13. I haven't been to FF since late April but typically after extended low flow periods it will be kinda slimey and gross with algae on that stretch. If your kids are a little on the timid side they'll probably not enjoy that area much, it's kinda snakey and there IS a fair share of cottonmouths on the LN, so watch your step. It's considerably cleaner (prettier) further upstream. During the weekend you'll have plenty of company as the local hillfolk pull down to drink beer, shoot bottle rockets and scream and cuss at their kids. And after an afternoon of being within sight of them you'll probably be screaming and cussing at them too.
  14. Yes you can pitch camp (riverside gravel bar) at Fiery Fork, but I dunno why you'd want to. The designated camping areas are a way better option and "close enough" to the river IMO. There's plenty of good (Better) camping gravel bars up or down river outside of the CA.
  15. Yep, and there will be a beer in the canoe so they can chalk up another for the "alcohol involvement" statistic.
  16. Nice job! Let's hear it......
  17. So, bites were 12-18' ? The blues ate the cranks too?
  18. Yeah well, in our case there was a fubar with a conflicting event at the same ramp, there was rushed discussion on moving our take-off to the Hermitage ramp....but then they decided to just go ahead with the original plan. Time was being wasted and the place was packed. We just "hurried up and got launched/parked" figuring it would be ok to settle the piddly $#!t later. Well....it wasn't any less confusing and/or hurried at weigh-in. Two weeks+ later I received the "thing" in the mail, with no officer# or signature on it, and conflicting addresses and no phone # to call to "clear it up". I freakin' blew it off. End of drama.
  19. Woah! Out-freakin-Standing !!!! Any location pattern at all to those striped beasts?
  20. Nine's company, Ten's a crowd!
  21. Fish deeper. If your fishing is confined to shallow flat mud bank areas then there's not much way to keep turtles from finding your bait......cuz that's where they live.
  22. Nice Man! They are awesome boats. I'll have another one someday if I ever get a chance to snatch one up.
  23. Be sure to cuss at him alot and keep reminding him that if he hooks you that you'll kick his @$$ up between his shoulder blades. Then when you get the slightest bit frustrated with the way he isn't understanding your barks of instruction, snatch the rod out of his hands and make him paddle and fetch beers while YOU fish. Hey, it worked for Me. Thanks Dad, love ya
  24. No kiddin'! And that GT was completely refreshed for 2600 P&L if I remember right. Original failure was caused from an overheat (lack of maintenance). You can SAY it all ya want....but it'll be 6k before it's done right.
