  1. Yep, that's the place. There's a washed out spot on the upstream side of the old sunken bridge deck and that big flathead has been there for 3 (this will be 4) years that I know of. She's always there 12 months out of the year, even when the water is low and crystal clear. I'm guessing the max depth under that deck is 7-9ft and it really makes you realize that if a fish that size can winter out in a spot like that then the smallies can winter out in much tighter little spots. Maybe even in a 5" crevice in the bedrock 3' deep.
  2. Ok but do you think you can refrain from throwing s#it this time ?
  3. It's as open as it's gonna be, get it on video by all means. I know where there's another one but I don't think she's 50 yet, pushing 30-35 though. She snacks on escapee rainbows and brookies all Winter and is probably the best tasting catfish a guy could stink up grease with. She lurks within 50 feet of where we first met, Chief.
  4. Atta'boy GM ! My work here is done
  5. Good point, request retracted.
  6. Oh Cool, free readings? Do Me Do Me!
  7. Sounds like they need a joint and an assault rifle.
  8. The only thing about marijuana that will kill you is the prison food. LOL
  9. The lighter the better.... as long as it has enough power to get the job done, is what I would want on a shallow rocky river. Here are my thoughts; The prop shaft, drive shaft and gear housing on a 6hp is just as strong as the ones on the heavier 9.9-15, and some 20's and props are a bit less expensive for the 6. Theoretically that should result in less damage when/if you hit something. And you invariably will.
  10. Marijuana isn't soley useful for smoking either.... still illegal to possess.
  11. There was a time when a 6-7.5 hp was the popular motor of choice for the White. Has that changed?
  12. There is a bit more to assault rifles than looks and magazine capacity, and I'm surprised that y'all don't know that. The biggie is in the way they are designed to dissipate heat and deal with wet and/or gritty conditions and keep fuctioning at a rapid fire pace. You can slap a 30 round clip in a BAR or a ADL all ya want....but chances are it will freeze up on you before you empty the magazine if you squeeze them off rapid fire without a cooling down period.
  13. I don't think it's where they are made as much as where they originated from..... I'm out on a limb here but I think it is safe to assume that the development didn't begin as a thought that came to someones mind while in a tree stand, a duck blind, or at a target range. For someone to pretend that they just can't understand why some people see assault type rifles in a different classification than sporting guns is pretty lame. Everyone, especially the folks that own or want to own them, know darn well why.
  14. Old fire hose attached in loops. Lasts forever.
  15. The bottom 10" of water in a 3' deep fast riffle can be a killer holding area. One such spot on the lower Niangua holds smallies consistently. Stand at the top and hold a #2 Flash-dancer in the current, twitching it occasionally ....and they'll dart up off the bottom and cream it.
  16. Probably be ok for a guide but I wouldn't use it for bunks unless your supports are fairly close together.
  17. Rule #1. There are no rules.
  18. Never been into trolling myself but I've rigged out several nice boats for the purpose. The one I am most proud of was a 18' Lund deep V with a 115 Johnson/ and 9.9 long shaft kicker with sandwiched control boxes and steering link. 24v Auto pilot TM on the bow and 5 seat pedestal positions. On a Roller trailer with remote controlled 12v winch. Everyone that fishes out of that boat absolutely loves it. Comfortable, roomy, stylish, and can handle any kinda water from the gulf to the great lakes.
  19. I know that look...
  20. Another trip sans pup. How do you even sleep at night?
  21. Y'all are killin' me with all this kinda talk. I hope we get some big rain events this Spring.
  22. They must not be, because I don't know of a single person making a decent living giving them.
  23. Just wanted to capture that quote for future points
  24. There's never been any probate court deciding who got what after any death in my family. If whatshisface's mom had died in a car crash a week earlier I'm sure the guns would have been his and/or his brothers. Right along with the house, cars, and cooking utensils. And yeah I agree, a person convicted of writing multiple bad checks can be a felon.... yet they obviously drew their own personal line at robbing at gunpoint for money. They could have done way worse than write a bad check if they needed money....but obviously they didn't. So after their debt to society is paid they should not be restricted from owning a firearm IMO.
