Ha! That first clip is from July '10 and that's MY DOG! and my girlfriends nephew at Riverfront. How cool ! Riverdog made the future news ! Now, back to the point of the post ..... Are they talking about not letting them put in at the MDC 64access, nor take out at Barclay? Or are they just not allowing them to enter the State Park (Spring branch) area? Technically they never should have been inside the park boundaries in the first place unless NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES were onboard any of the canoes or shuttle busses. It's illegal to have a beer, or a flask of whiskey, or so much as a wine cooler at Bennett Spring.

Couldn't be possible that they were just chillin, saw you hop out with a smokepole....and hauled @$$ figuring you were about to slay your wifes lover, and preferred not to be a witness. But you have this little play going on in your head that excites you, so you choose to assume they were probably assailants that got thwarted by the presence of cold blue steel.

Marine Mechanic For Hire! (I Come To You!)

Outstanding! I hope you dropped an extra benjamin on him, cuz he deserves it. It's good to know that the o/i drive gear is still hanging in there. Here's one (1996 150 EFI) that didn't -
Marine Mechanic For Hire! (I Come To You!)

I was just curious as to what extent of troubleshooting/repairs he was willing or able to complete on-site. I usually know by the discription of the problem whether it's something that can likely be fixed while hanging off the back of the boat, or whether it's more likely to have to be towed to the shop. No need charging someone an 80.00 service call if you're reasonably sure that it's gonna need more extensive looking into. You can't even locate and repair a fuel leak or do a control cable swap on later model outboards without removing the lower cowling..... and ya can't do it while hanging over the water off the back of the boat. No worrys about "stealing work", was more thinking about farming out some service calls to the dude depending on what he feels comfortable doing while the boat is on a hoist, floating, or sitting in an access parking lot. That is if he wanted to make the trip up here ever so often. Ease up, Ham. -
Agreed!

"Prepared"? You're not prepared with that short nosed brass ratchet tucked securly under your jacket or pant leg.... you wanna be prepared? Then carry around a shotgun loaded with 4's I have sat at the range and watched plenty of permit carriers (men and women alike) handle and fire their "protection"..... YIKES! I'm NOT making assumptions on YOUR abilities, but rather the abilities and skill level of the majority.

Good luck Josh. Do you pull flywheels and do gearcase reseal/relubes over the water, or off the tailgate of your truck ? There's only so much quality service you can do on a service call.... right? Removing lower cowlings to do most work on todays outboards is kinda difficult to do over the water unless you can levitate. Just keepin' it real. What's your labor rate and service call charges at this year? -
Not at all. I don't talk about it much but I am actually a trained and confident gunsmith and once had a FFL. I am a Sporting Arms enthusiast through and through. I just think that most people who C&C have no business or reason for doing so. Haven't you noticed that 80% of C&C permit carriers are always ANNOUNCING IT at every given opportunity ? What's that about? I also am mildly annoyed that the number of C&C permit owners who have been to DUI court seems to escape the news. The local bar is full of permit carriers. Why Conceal? Open carry if you think you need it, and remove it entirely when you dont. If you're afraid to go somewhere without a "weapon" then you prolly shouldn't go there. That's all.

Sorry man, but Dammit! I'm just trying to make a valid point and you're acting like I'm being a foolish old fart with no street smarts. From my viewpoint that's coming from someone who goes fishing without a reasonably well stocked flybox....but byDog he's got his firearm. Thats some crazy $#!t. No? And don't you dare go all tender on me now, you know me better.

So, you dont wade deeper than your knees, or you keep it under your hat? Never get caught in the rain? Do you even know how to properly strip that Ruger down after a dunking? I bet if I took it apart you couldn't even put it back together. I can think of plenty of times that I'm glad I don't have to pack a pistol. Besides I've seen you shoot when you were calm and collective....and trust me, that thing is nothing more than excess baggage on you during a time of intense nervousness. You really don't wanna debate this topic with me in public, Crick

I think it's time to put to rest the tired old false flag fear that pot growers and Meth heads are profoundly notorious for killing random people. Most of the information you have processed is only there because it has been pounded in your head so that you'll continue to support certain lucrative projects that your tax dollars are funding. When everyone began referring to their Sporting arms as "weapons".....it really bummed me out. That's not a healthy mental state IMO.... I'd rather take my chances.

I quoted them from Julien Penn, feel free to double check his sources....I'll take his word for it until you set me straight.

The Shafted Backstabber Super Simple Crayfish/backstabber
fishinwrench replied to esox niger's topic in Fly Recipes
There you go with that "orange" business again I take it that there really is sonething about Carp and Orange? I see/hear that alot from the successful carp chasers. Seems it's either Orange or Black 99% of the time. Does that theory hold water? -
And astounding odds indicate that it never will, regardless. But if it brings you peace of mind that's cool...... just keep you mind about the piece. (Piece/Peace)

I have to plead the 5th on that one. Don't wanna get a ticket in the mail.

Doesn't matter, I did. And I wasn't involved in an unavoidable head-on collision on the way home either. Imagine that.

Noooo, that's horse crap! Tinkering with the weather, yeah. I think THAT.

Here's how you handle a situation like rounding a bend on a float trip and encountering someone that you feel has intentions of doing you harm. You just say "yo dude, Heads Up. what's with all the lawdogs upstream?" He/they say " WTF are you talkin' about", Then you say " F#@k I dunno, but I'm packin' a bag o weed so I need to get on downstream, later". It's all about how you carry yourself. Works better than sitting there looking nervous and wondering if you should reach for your "equalizer". And yeah I've been there, talked my way out of a knife fight on the Niangua (see thread about area below tunnel).

Just sayin', you're more likely to get killed by a psychopath, or have your children raped or beaten while participating in church activitys than while enjoying the great outdoors. That's a fact. Do you pack heat in church?

Pulling out a gun during a fist-fight will land you in prison. The world isn't full of evil strangers, y'all have just been brainwashed. Do you carry lightning strike protection and a snake bite kit too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx6nGxw_hnM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I'm with ya, JoeD. Most of these C&C cowpokes just pack their cute little 9's just to feel cool. If they ever had to truly depend on it to save their butt they'd most likely get shaken and botch the job., making a bad situation even worse. Everytime I hear someone say "I'm not worried about such-n-such cuz I have a C&C permit", I wanna drag them outside by their earlobe and kick them in the neck Billy Jack style. Especially the ones that blow all that ethical rhetoric about..."I'm packing....but I hope I never have to use it". Yeah, me too....just makes you weigh more for whoever has to carry you out of the woods. LOL
