  1. Well thanks, Mitch But I'm wagering that neither of those well suited gentlemen are currently plagued with boating problems
  2. Hi Lee, Will do. Being from Richland do you know former Charger boats owner "Bob Cox" ? Is the Charger plant still up and running ?
  3. LMAO ! Been there/Done that My smoke detectors are interlinked, so when one starts chirping they ALL chirp...but not at the same time and in no particular sequence. I live exactly 16 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart, so I have to either go get six 9 volt batterys at the corner store and pay tourist prices for them... and change them all out. OR run around sticking them all to my tongue to see which one bites the least and then swap it out with one from the weather radio, OR throw the breaker and pull all the batterys to disable the whole system (not an option). The worst part is that I can NEVER remember to pick up batterys when I'm out running around... then I come home, walk in the door.... Beep ! My daughter also has a haunted stuffed animal that starts this creepy song all on it's own...then stops when you get close to her room. If I ever figure out which one of those cute little poltergiests is doing that I'm gonna throw it out in the driveway and run over it with the truck. It gives me "Chuckie" flashbacks.
  4. You ain't woofin' If you ever get to feeling like nobody cares about you... just miss a payment.
  5. Aww Man, Y'all are the best, seriously. I've got plenty to be thankful for, I'm healthy, I've got good friends, and there's fish to be caught. To hell with some stupid money ! Thanks for the attitude adjustment, Ronnie.
  6. This coming year I think I'll slip into a level of debt and poverty that I've never sampled before...just for kicks, and just so I can say "I've been there". Should be an interesting year.
  7. Well, it wouldn't suprise me to have a few of them in the family too.
  8. Hell Chief, there's a dead indian in everyones family. Death certificate ? Hmm, They didn't give us one at "the ceremony", but if I can produce one do I get that govenment check ?
  9. ....unless an Indian gives it to you
  10. During the Winter C&R in the trout parks a #16-18 Trout Crack in "Dead Orange" is absolutely deadly. Plus in clear water you can sight fish it easily, no need to fuss with a dropper rig. Go get'um ! And if you happen to run across any big blue plastic pipes...shove a log, dead muskrat, or whatever is handy in it
  11. Leo, I've yet to discover one that produces better than the following two... Wilson's Trout Crack [/url TMC 2487 #14-18 Thread: clear mono Underbody: Sow scud dubbing (.041tan, lt.olive, orange)dub from front to back Shellback: brown D-rib lashed on top and trimmed. Pregnant scud TMC 2487 #12 6/0 tan uni-thread Tail: tuft of sow scud dubbing (lt.sowbug) Shellback: 1/8in. scud back (tan) Body: Sow-Scud dubbing(lt.sowbug )dub from front to back. Egg sack: Sow-Scud (dead orange) Rib: tying thread As for using them as a dropper fly...I don't. I fish them tightline with either a #4 or #1 split-shot, but you can suspend them under a bobber in slower water if you like.
  12. Just lovely I'm guessing you met up with these two residents... URL=http://img715.imageshack.us/i/pc050856.jpg/]
  13. The man speaks truth. Once when Rick Clunn was asked about the devil worshipping rumor that was going around about him, Clunn responded, "well for starters it ain't the devil...it's Paul Dallas"
  14. Stick with the dealer you bought it from if possible.
  15. Without the commercial slant, and the political correctness. There's nothing wrong with a writer displaying his true feelings and character.... that is unless he/she is ashamed of himself or is insecure about the accuracy of what he is putting out there. If I ever write a book I'll be making some blunt statements along the way, and I won't be apologizing for it on the last page. Too many books are being written where the authors main goal is obviously to never step on a toe and make sure EVERYONE loves him.
  16. A jet/Jon is going to give you access to more "bigger water", so I'd say if the time spent in each is equal you're gonna catch more numbers in the jetboat....IF you know what you're doing and where to concentrate the balance of your efforts. On the other hand, if you are using a jetboat to access water better suited to canoes then you are creating more of a presence and would likely do better in a canoe.
  17. You think you're sick of your current career ? Just wait and see how badly you hate boat shows and tackle trade shows in a few years
  18. Mongo, Where (and what size flies) are you fishing that you feel the need for such delicate tippet ? Just curious. Wasn't it ozarktroutfisher that was fishing #4 crawdad flies on 7x last year? That's just crazy IMO...but TETO.
  19. The guy that now owns Virgil's old blue custom Ranger 360V / Johnson GT150 is a customer of mine, I've been servicing that rig for 11 years and she's still running strong.
  20. I dunno, Gavin. I think the big snows we used to get when we were younger, were memorable because they were FUN... Whereas NOW that we are all grown up, consumed with more serious things, and basically more boring....big snows are a PIA Heavy snows (12-15") crushed roofs of docks and condos by the hundreds here at the Lake in 1995, 1999, 2007,and again in 2008 What I don't remember getting so much of when I was younger though is ice storms, and we used to love to skate so I know I would remember an ice storm like the ones we seem to get at least twice every Winter now that I'm too fat and lazy to go ice skating.
  21. Dennis, were you island hopping last Friday ? I thought I saw your truck.
  22. Does this mean I won't get a "E78 Sinister Stone" ? I'll tye mine on Justin Allen's hooks...just so everyone can sample them Sorry Justin, but darn...
  23. Easy Now ! I'll be sending SJW's if it gets much bigger
  24. Unless they deviate from the norm, whatever trout are in the river now is all there's gonna be until Feb.- March. They are running a bit small now (too small to eat) but that's a good thing. They'll be alot more sporty and stand a chance at getting BIG if they do their growing up in the river. I haven't fished the Barclay area all year, I need to get down there.
  25. Sup Homey ?! Just stirrin' it. WTH you been ?
