  1. Nice bag! Can he do it AGAIN? 😅
  2. Doesn't ring a bell, no. 🤔 That's been a looong time ago. Dial-up days.
  3. I remember Kipster from the old Conservation message board. He was a genuine smartass.....but I must say, he does some fine woodwork !
  4. Is it claimed.....or is it going up for auction? 😉
  5. Rolling Hills Rd. to Gateway Rd. to AA ? That is all paved? Sweet !!!! Thanks 👍 Having the vehicle covered in either dust or mud is a drag.
  6. Coming from the North, Independence Rd. (right before the water tower on 5 hwy.) will take you to AA. It actually cuts 3 miles off the trip to Bennett......but it's gonna be either dusty or muddy because it's 5 miles of gravel. You'll wanna hit the car wash on the way home for sure.
  7. No problem. A better deal on a better motor could fall out of the sky at any time, but right now that's all I have in the 20hp range. I actually hate those old hard-pulling Mercs..... that's why I haven't done anything with it......But there are guys out there that just LOVE THEM, and the parts off of them sell like gold.
  8. Appreciate the kind words, but deny the rest 😅 Hillbilly seems like the kinda guy that can do his own wrenching, so that ol'Merc 20 would be a fine project for him. 👍
  9. I've got a 20 Merc that would make a good project for ya. 300.00 as/is. It's all there, just needs someone to love it. Could part it out on eBay for over 1000.00 but who's got the time for that? 🙄
  10. Those old Richline's will last forever 👍 Do you have a motor for it ?
  11. Speaking of Pickles.....a pickle jar makes THE BEST margarita glass👍 One fish oddity that I've witnessed over & over is that fish shut down LAKEWIDE when a big event like the Big Bass Bash starts. I'm talking about even in areas that haven't been visited yet. It's as if somehow the clue to shut-down is broadcast through the water. So you can't blame it on actual pressure or local boat traffic. Fish activity changes EVERYWHERE when heavy pressure is ANYWHERE....or so it sure seems.
  12. Let's just say.....that anyone holding a state record is no longer a virgin. 😳
  13. Lookin' good ol' boy ! What river are you on now?
  14. Either hit the lottery and is currently buried in hookers.......Or he went Babler on us. 🤔
  15. I've been on a bit of a frozen margarita binge too, since Fathers day. They sure are going down smoothly 😋
  16. Let's see that old boat! 😊
  17. I spent the first half of my life in the creeks north of I-70 and when I moved to the "Ozarks" I was actually disappointed in the size of the Smallmouth. Yeah the creeks south of the Mo.river have more numbers of smallies......but the average size is considerably smaller. The AVERAGE Smallmouth on those northern streams is 14-16". I never caught a 20"+ until I moved south.....but I caught a lot more 16-18 inchers up there. My Papaw had them figured out 😊
  18. Elk fork and Middle fork. 👍 No sense in keeping it secret.... because anyone who puts in the time to figure out the right kinda stretches DESERVES to sore mouth them. 😉
  19. The avoidance of anything scented strongly of GARLIC, by little 10-12 inchers, was proven to ME years ago. It was like they were born knowing to avoid it.
  20. Well, if the lake that it is a feeder to fluctuates wildly (like Truman does) then there's your answer. I fish the Lake O tributaries alot, and things have certainly changed since Ameren took over. Back when UE managed the lake level all of the feeder creeks fished differently (better) with the exception of the Niangua and Little Niangua.....which both have "dams" that help sustain a decent average gradient through the year, and prevent mass migration. Alot of guys wanna blame OTTERS.....but it isn't just otters..... which I very seldom see BTW 🙄 Birds of prey probably get more bass than any otters do, especially when the streams are at low levels. The fact that you're catching channel cat tells ME that you're a good bit less than 3 miles from the lake. Am I right?
  21. Yeah, a fast and easily maneuverable canoe is no place for a 100lb. Labrador with a horsefly pestering him. That's a good way to loose a bunch of gear. 😅
  22. I studied the Mad River line awhile back, and they are super good canoes. More designed for secondary stability (faster) than what I personally prefer..... because I have a dog. 😅
  23. So..... it's a tributary of Truman lake ? 🤔
  24. I probably shouldn't post this publicly, but a portable outboard is a PORTABLE OUTBOARD! You are required to carry a copy of the BOAT REGISTRATION but that registration has no mention of what motor pushes it. A portable outboard burrowed from a friend in another state (including states that do not title outboards) is perfectly legal, as far as I know. Are you following me here?
  25. Have you covered a sizable portion of said creek ? 2 streams that I know of in the northern portion of the state have truly good bass fishing....but the good stretches are the ONLY place where you're likely to catch a bass (LM & SM). It has to do with the orientation (N-S-E-W) and the bottom composition.
