  1. One thing is for sure....he won't outlive the river. 😉 Neither will the Niangua Cattle Company. 🖕
  2. It truly is. If I was buying a piece of riverfront property on the Niangua I would definitely want that to be it. The history of that particular spot is really interesting. https://thelibrary.org/lochist/periodicals/bittersweet/sp79j.htm
  3. https://youtu.be/W982uLqh9jE
  4. He does. I assume that some folks still camp there, and I haven't heard of any catastrophes YET, but I had an up-close and personal, totally unprovoked, confrontation with him awhile back that I truly thought was gonna end badly. I spoke with several people in the area about it and every one of them said the same thing......"yeah that dude is VERY odd" and had their own particular story about him. I have all the faith in the world that he'll be in news eventually. I just advise folks to stay the hell away from there. He packs a big ol' Dan Wesson hogleg everywhere he goes.
  5. You won't need/want the outboard. I can only think of one possible portage, and it isn't really a "portage". One of you may have to hop out and pull/guide for 30 feet or so. There are 3 spots between Bennett and Prosperine where you'll wanna be careful that the boat doesn't get sideways. Other than that it's an easy float.
  6. Thank you. Wooops! 😅
  7. I try not to criticize, but it does concern me about people that I like/love. I want to understand how they rationalize it all, and how it can possibly make sense to them. I'm also bothered by the people that I love being fake/phoney. If they "believe" like they claim they do.....then I have some troubling questions in regards to many of their actions. It's a trust/true love thing. That's all.
  8. To a Christian, an atheist is just a person who believes in one less "God" than the Christian does. The Christian is an atheist when it comes to Thor, Allah, and Hannamann (the monkey God), and many others.....which they would probably believe in dependant on where they were born and how they were raised.
  9. I wanna say that I have. Not read the book myself, but listened to it being read. I have done a ton of religious study (actually trying to convince myself) because I honestly do (or did) want to believe. Finally I came to the realization that if God wanted me to believe then he would know how to convince me. Maybe he will someday. Until then I'm a lowly skeptic. I don't believe in Satin either, so please don't say that he is the one preventing me from being a Christian. 🙄 If blind Faith is required then explain to me how Satin allegedly rebels against God. Satin would know for a fact about God and his power....no "faith" required..... yet he is free to go against God. Makes no sense. If Satin knows (has been shown) and still has a choice....then why do WE have to believe with no proof whatsoever in order to enter the kingdom of heaven ? I'm a good dude, live by the 10 as much as anyone else, if I'm not good enough because I can't believe something on the poorest of evidence, then so be it. His choices and decisions, given the power he is supposed to have, are far more deplorable than mine. So no, I'm sorry, I'm not capable of genuine worship. I could certainly fake it....but I don't play that way.
  10. 1. It makes more sense to think that maybe there was. 2. I would certainly be happy. It would be comforting to know that someone can be in control. But if the words of the bible in reference to him are true, I don't believe I would worship him like he allegedly wants me to. When I look around, it becomes obvious to me that God is either powerless, or does not exist, ......or DOES exist but doesn't give a $#!t.
  11. "If you say some Latin words over your pancakes and expect them to turn into the body of Elvis Presley you are presumed to be a nut case.....But say the same about a cracker and the body of Jesus, and you're just presumed to be a Catholic". 😅
  12. HVO has property 300 yards below the old bridge piers now, so you can have them shuttle you. Or you can access at HVO's takeout and it's a doable paddle/drag upstream to the riffles at Ho-Humm.
  13. I think it's great though that people are realizing, and almost expecting, a healthy dose of BS in everything they are taught/told these days. It shows that there is hope. The knowledge that even teachers, doctors, clergymen, and people of utmost authority will lie to you, both knowingly and unknowingly, is a valuable arrow to have in your quiver. They'll lie even when the truth would benefit them better.
  14. And the other set of keys ! Gotcha. 😅
  15. Billy 😊
  16. Even the journalist's that try hard to deliver straight info find it impossible. The fact is that unless you were there to see/hear it all go down from start to finish, and are in touch with what goes on behind the curtains.....then you're clueless. Hell I can't even give you a truly accurate accounting of the things that go on right here in my house. The middle kid woke up all pissed off about something this morning and nobody has a clue why. The world will never know.
  17. He won't bother anyone floating through I don't think, I've done that numerous times, but I'm not pulling into his driveway. We used to drop $5 in the mailbox and access that stretch of river from there during the winter, but that was when it was under the previous ownership. The mailman and the guy that grades the road don't like going around there either, so it ain't just me.
  18. Converting is not a good plan. Just sell/trade and get a motor with the shaft length that you need.
  19. 1/4oz.Hula grubs, suspending jerkbaits, A-rig, big thumper spinnerbaits. 3/4oz.football jig, 3" paddle tail swimbait.
  20. No you do it. I'll pay you. 😊
  21. Surely there's a way to disable/bypass this stupid control module.....but I'm betting that once bypassed you have no heat, A/C, and probably can't even use the windshield wipers. It's so frustrating 😫 At least give us a portal to select the settings. "Would you like your doors to lock automatically?" NO "Would you like your windows to stop going down when you release the switch?" YES "Would you prefer to manually turn running lights on/off?" YES "Would you like to be heavily reprimanded for neglecting to fasten safety belt?" NO "Would you like the stereo, dome, and headlights to stay on for 20 minutes after shutting off and exiting the vehicle?" NO!!! "When the key is in the ignition would you like to NOT be able to lock the driver's side door?" YES!!! I mean c'mon, at least make it user friendly.
  22. Oh of course. I can't afford fresher than 100k. Well I could, but the value for the dollar is unacceptable IMO. The day they decided to incorporate body control computers into vehicles was the day I gave up. All this locking of doors, deciding how far I want the windows rolled down, and when to turn the lights on and off, and ect....... Really pisses me off. If I'm gonna be the captain of this goddam ship then I wanna have control of these things!
  23. Do we really not have a good Chevy technician among us here? My 04 Tahoe has a mental disorder. Sporadically does things on it's own that it shouldn't be doing. Yesterday it locked me out while the engine was running. If that had happened down on the river or at a boat ramp I would have been screwed. I assume that the body control module is failing but I'd rather pay somebody else to deal with it than to attempt it's diagnosis and repair on my own. The Chevy shops around here are a bunch of crackheads so taking it to one of them is not an option.
  24. My daughter has the same affliction as I do (her thoughts fall immediately out of her head and spill right out her mouth), causing 2/3 of her alumni to avoid contact with her.....but oddly enough they all quiet down and listen closely when she speaks. 😊
  25. Hot dam, reality strikes, and it wasn't me that pulled the trigger for once. 🤟😃 It was still a killer shot. Inspired me to practice my bow & arrow casting in the living room. Shooting a hookless EHC at my wife's boobs, and at Orion's nose.
