  1. I don't believe many falsify their genuine findings, but I believe plenty avoid trying certain things, and/or keep trying certain OTHER things, repeatedly, until FINALLY they get a certain (hoped for) result.....then run with it. Again, it isn't the scientist himself that truly upsets me, because they aren't the ones deciding what is or isn't going to happen, or be allowed. It's the ones making things happen BECAUSE of what a scientist has reported to him. Didymo is a fine example. Scientists were NOT the ones who banned felt sole boots. But because of them it got done.....and for no good reason. Scientists were also NOT the ones who put hybrid stripers into a fishery with native white bass either....but they DID say that doing so would cause no genetic alterations of the native whites.....and that was an oopsie that can't be reversed. Maybe it's ok, and maybe it isn't, but that's a pretty bold move to make with a native species just because you think you did something cool. It ain't cool. Playing genetic stewpot with species that have been doing just fine on their own since the beginning of time is playing with fire. They phucked around and ruined marijuana too. The strains of yesteryear are gone forever, so now I can't take a few hits and go fishing....or do ANYTHING for that matter because I might as well have dropped a hit of acid. Studying things and learning all you can about them, that's great, but once you have learned all you think you need to know... then STOP. Quit going all hot-rodder and genetically altering things. Because it becomes permanent and you can never go back. Scientists are smart, but they aren't smart enough to know when to stop. Therefore they are as dangerous as they are helpful. (Consider AI and where that's headed, are you perfectly comfortable with that?)
  2. What test results? There you go assuming that I've ever had a biopsy. I think you might need a nap. If anybody ever tells me I have cancer, my response will be "no $#!t Sherlock, who doesn't?"
  3. Oh I totally agree, but I keep seeing people standing firmly by the words of people with titles that indicate higher education. And I'm confounded by the fact that I have witnessed alleged dumbasses do a better job in the same place with way less expensive equipment.
  4. It isn't an argument that some things were better years ago, it's a fact. The argument is why it has taken a longtime downturn in spite of better education/smarter people, way more sophisticated and modern equipment, and ALOT more money. Got any ideas?
  5. Spoonbill, hybrid stripers, and the urban trout program..... because they actually pour funds directly into it, and they honestly try without making lame excuses of why it isn't cost effective.
  6. I CALLED THE GAME WARDEN
  7. The urban dictionary says that: "Wallowing in the bowels of ignorance", means to have anal sex with a member of the Westboro Baptist Church.
  8. Another arrow in the quiver! A "scientist" just informed me that ignorance has bowels. See how full of $#!t they are ?!!!! 😂
  9. I think you're a scientist in need of a psychologist.
  10. Oh please! In the scientific world ? Or in the real world ? I'm truly trying to be done here, guys, I promise.
  11. Resemblance of Vulpes vulpes is undeniable.....but let's not jump to conclusions here. We need to fund a study.
  12. Once again.....hands in the air 🙄 I not going to lower myself to listing undeniable examples of elongated experiments, skewed data, and such stuff like that.
  13. Are you sure that this "fox" was properly identified as a fox ? I mean....people have border Collies that look kinda like foxes. 😂 Unless you had a DNA sample examined by a certified foxologist I think it's very irresponsible for you to make a BLANKET STATEMENT like that.
  14. I am indeed saying that some do. Not necessarily "intentionally falsify", but yeah I think you pretty much understood what I was trying to say. Only a slight pouty twist on it.....but that's ok, I understand. I sometimes purposely don't fully inspect the gears in a guys outboard if I know that he can't afford to repair them anyway and he/she didn't specifically ask me to. So I guess technically I'm no better.
  15. If your occupation is a scientist then being successful just means that you continue to have money to pay your bills. I know alot of successful mechanics that can't properly fix anything. But yet another year has passed and they will still be out Christmas shopping.
  16. What a shame! Look at that pig! If that is their way of luring folks into the sport of trout fishing.....all they are doing is setting them up for years and years of frustration and disappointment. That's the furthest thing from healthy/friendly encouragement.
  17. You don't owe me an apology, we're fine. I'm not "intelligent" and don't claim to be, I just call it as I see it. I'm all about reality, that's all. Pretty shallow, I know, but that's just me. 😊
  18. Wait, let me retract the minimum wage part. I actually don't know how much money they made. There ya go, I did post a potentially false statement. I apologize. You win. 🤟
  19. That "statement" is 100% true, man. The evidence is in the experience.....which you seem to lack. If that's the best you can do then I'm "throwing my hands in the air".
  20. I think there are scientists working towards a goal, in which case it is probably near impossible to be unbiased. And then there are scientists working towards trying to find the truth, and those guys probably have a constant fight on their hands....to the point that they just throw their hands in the air and give up. And who can blame them?
  21. We have at least 4 (probably more like 6-10) wild hogs in the woodlot behind our place. They've been there for at least a full year and we hear them and even smell them occasionally but rarely does anyone see them. It's amazing how well they can keep themselves hidden in such a small area. The neighborhood hounds have gotten them cornered twice since Summer and there's no mistaking what's going on when that happens. So far no casualties. I saw a group of 4 nearly a year ago but haven't laid eyes on them since.
  22. Me either. If I feel a certain way I should be free to express it....and I do. So why do you have a problem with me ?
  23. I love science, it was the only class I ever actually didn't dread going to. Good science is great, but in the area of fish and game management much of the science is BS.....and they use that BS science to control the things I enjoy most in life. One of my closest friends is a fisheries biologist, and I unload on him all the time. He fully agrees with me 90% of the time, and when he doesn't agree he at least understands why I "feel that way". It never changes anything but at least I have retained my foothold on reality, which is important to me personally. I don't have a dislike for scientist's, I have a dislike for people who make decisions (that effect me) based on science that is flawed or incomplete. And there's alot of that going on in the world. Now that we've cleared that up I am anxious to see screenshots of posts I have made that are allegedly untrue. And which assumptions are untrue?
  24. I try not to bash other outboard repair guys because #1 it's unprofessional, and #2 if I did you would think I was doing it to get your business. I don't talk outboard stuff on here to ADVERTISE, I'm just trying to help because I truly like you guys. If I wanted to advertise I would send Phil a check and you'd get my business logo in your face everytime you logged on here. I'm confident that none of the stuff I post is untrue.....and if it is then I'm always open to being corrected, but please be more convincing if you can. Can you point me to a genuinely untrue thing that I have ever posted on here (where I wasn't obviously joking around)? I bet ya can't. Before you do that though, be cool and tell us why you changed your handle from mjk86 to topdollar. I've had the same handle since I first got internet access. Full of BS as you might think I am, I have never had a reason to try to hide my identity.
  25. More trout fishermen nationwide, maybe, but not more trout fishermen that fish the Meramec. I'd argue that there are less, and the ones that do and kill them are way WAY less. More predators? A few more eagles maybe.....but eagles exist everywhere that trout live, yet trout still flourish in the company of eagles/otters/bears/ect. The weather is volatile everywhere, even in places where trout populations are excellent. So that's not a reason, it's just another lame excuse IMO. Let's just go ahead and admit it.....The reason is poor management. The "biologists" are supposedly smarter, their education and equipment is supposedly far superior.....yet they flat out SUCK at their job. Chain smoking, half drunk, high school dropouts did a far better job with far less cool $#!t to work with. And they did it for minimum wage. It's true!
