  1. I know a couple of banks that there is absolutely nothing special about, not near any channel or anything, no unique rock size or depth changes, no brush, nothing that would make anyone want to fish them at all. The only thing special about them is that they are absolutely LOADED with crappie during two times of the year. No clue as to why. I thought maybe it was just the angle that the sun passed over them, but both are different by compass headings and other banks situated the same way are always a bust.
  2. I would welcome it. I have no outstanding debt with the IRS either. Sugarbritches will make them a pitcher of sweet tea and they can pour through all my stuff until their heart is content. 😊
  3. Well they either have a cocaine habit, or they are frequenting strip clubs too often, because I fall within that income range and have all of the above, plus boats, airguns, a stout inventory of fly fishing kit, ect......and have zero debt. My wife doesn't even "work" (outside the home). Gotta be careful saying "she doesn't work", cuz I've been put in the dog house over that before. 😏
  4. You missed the point. 🙄 The ones that agree to fund them are the "controlling dictatorial entity". Why do that and then ignore their recommendation ? And if it was all figured out prior to the early 1960's then why are they still studying it ?
  5. If you drive a fresh vehicle (or two), have a nice house, and can afford to spawn and send those hatchlings to college, then you are getting paid well. How's your love meter swinging on that one? 😊
  6. Lots of science in mechanical things. Moreso than just about any other field, wouldn't you say?
  7. I'm not sure you can determine much by that. I can travel 1/2 mile in any direction from my house and experience a 5-10° difference on almost any day because of a cloud, the wind, or the elevation. I can guarantee you that nobody in Gravois Mills works hard enough, or fast enough, to make a difference in the temperature. 😂
  8. Right. And that is why most of us over 40 are prone to roll our eyes and not take any of this serious.....even though it very well may be. The world science brain community would do far better if it didn't share it's ongoing studies with the media until it had some solid evidence of a delimma, and a solid plan to fix it. Then enact the changes overnight. If there truly is something society needs to change then bygod make it happen and stop all the back & forth bickering that does nothing but waste time. If coal fired power plants need to be shut down in order to save humanity then freakin' DO IT YESTERDAY. We will learn to live without them again. When an inspector determines that a project is definitely unsafe and at risk of blowing sky high....the project is halted immediately until someone figures out a way to continue SAFELY. There's no come to Jesus meeting that lasts 10 years where everyone debates whether or not the inspector is just being paranoid. If this human caused global warming thing is a real issue then make the necessary changes ! Who the hell are they so afraid of inconveniencing ? We hired these scientists and pay them quite well, we provide them with whatever they need to study things..... but yet we are gonna ignore their judgement ? That is just ignorant. Either listen and follow instructions.....or fire them and give us our money back.
  9. Well I guess it depends on which accountant gives the report. Because the one I read clearly showed that on average a wind turbine generator does not last long enough to pay for itself, and to allow the ones building, installing them to make a profit. Apparently studies are bias (shocker hu?). So with differing results being posted let's shift gears on our debate and decide which one we can all agree to listen to....then we can proceed.
  10. Well I missed which part you weren't buying, and what you are calling me on. Help me out here.
  11. They didn't just punch it out, they knocked it into something that never was !
  12. I stopped researching when I got THIS far. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/energy/windpower/9770837/Wind-farm-turbines-wear-sooner-than-expected-says-study.html You can get all indignant with me if you want, cuz IDGAF about any of this. It isn't going to happen so why are you being all defensive and snarky about it? Go have a beer and calm yourself down! Good grief You have been a "Wrench hater" for going on 2 years now. Let's examine what I did to originally hack you off, and how I managed to keep you hacked off for this long. We can probably fix THAT. Do I owe you an apology for something, or what? Wind turbine efficiency is DEFINITELY not going to be solved here. Ever. 🙄
  13. Do not invite him. He is a BITE KILLER, and I've known guys like him before.
  14. I'm not claiming to be smarter than anyone, but it is my understanding that a wind generator cannot generate enough power, before it has to be replaced, to pay for another wind generator, even taking into consideration that the materials can be recycled. Therefore it is a looser. Kinda like paying 20.00 for every 5.00 bill. You're investing poorly.
  15. There can't be an intelligent conversation until everyone in the crowd has shared their thoughts. The guy that concludes that everyone in the room is stupid, but doesn't care to explain why all of their thoughts are flawed is what keeps the "intelligent conversation" from happening. Ya gotta start somewhere !
  16. Yeah, it's rediculous. The ones with all the brilliant ideas about things never calculate where things come from and how they managed to get their hands on them. Just pick up something as insignificant as a rivet.....and take a moment to consider how that rivet came to be, and how it made it's way onto your workbench.
  17. Battery's will need to be kept 3/4+ charged or else the life of copper windings and voltage controllers will be shortened. So when considering battery charge frequency you had better shorten it x3 or else you are upside down in any "green" agenda. You operate that electric car under a load with a battery that is 1/2 discharged and there is no way to keep heat down in the circuits. If our roads were all nice and level, and we all weighed 60-70 pounds then they might have a chance. And if you think you can build all new roads, that are level, with electric machinery...... you're just crazy. I don't see any way at all that electric cars and trucks will ever happen. The whole idea just needs to be scrapped IMO.
  18. Totally unconvinced of that. Where could that "fact" have come from ? 😊 I really don't even care. Combustion engines aren't going anywhere, and that's a "fact" that doesn't even need a link attached to it. Even when the time comes that humans can teleport themselves from point A to point B there will still be combustion engines doing all of the "heavy lifting" in this world.
  19. If you are eliminating the powerhead then you can go as high/low as you want. The gearcase can take whatever you throw at it. 1.5:1 or 2.2:1
  20. Electric cars are pretty darn cool, but if you're in the camp that thinks that if more people had them then we'd save the world, don't forget to consider that it takes a considerable amount of fossil fuel to produce the components needed to build one. Mining and producing copper, steel, lead, mercury, various insulators, magnets, and doing lots of case hardening. I haven't spent 30 seconds studying any of this, but my initial thought is that they somewhat resemble wind turbines in the sense that it takes more fossil fuel to produce one than it can possibly save in it's usable lifetime. The end result being a push at the very best, as far as environmental benefit is concerned. Maybe they should begin by making electric bulldozers, cranes, dump trucks, kilns, freight trains, and semi-trucks first. Cars and other means of personal transportation is quite a ways down the line.
  21. Gee, wonder where you could find one of those ? 🤔
  22. Oh it's fishable. One of my customers caught a pretty solid limit this morning before the wind started blowing and the gears in his lower unit shelled out.
  23. A little brown and white capping.
  24. No that was from February last year. We are a bit behind on weather this year. Only takes a couple days around 60° though, and it'll be on. Those dirty water flats warm up quick.
