  1. Several yes, but only one that fishes his way to heaven with prayer beads on his fillet knife for the church. The others do it for the VFW, ELK'S, or other organizational get togethers. I don't care because they are crappie, but you can bet your rear-end if it was bass (or Whites) I'd hotline him in a heartbeat. Somebody should pray for me because I keep his boat running. 😊
  2. Oh, and here's one I'd love to see challenged.... Lake oxark boundaries are at the 660.0 elevation, yet the creeks are considered "private property" and you can get fined for trespass fishing there at an elevation below that. Does that mean that a 12" bass is legal there ?
  3. My point was that I know that only one (possibly 2) guys supply the Catholic Church with crappie fillets to last the entire year. And they have a fish fry monthly. Their parking lot is the size of Wal-Mart's and on Fish Fry Friday that sucker is full. Now unless they are rationing them out like the cracker crumbs of Christ's body then you're not gonna convince me that possession laws are not being broken. No freakin' way. But ok, I'll just shut up about it. 🙄
  4. Ok forget I said anything about selling them. Can I possess 20# of Spoonbill eggs ?
  5. They why do they say 30 possession then ?
  6. I bet that church has a fish fryer bigger than our hot tub.
  7. So some short walleye in my freezer would be ok? How about this 20 pounds of Spoonbill eggs from.....wherever it's legal to have Spoonbill eggs. I caught them from the bank so I can sell them, right?
  8. Nope. 30 here. And we're talking about the Catholic Church castle ..... for Christ's sake. (Now that was punny) 🤣
  9. Tell him you'll give him 4.00 to release it alive. Save him the hassle of cleaning and packaging it.
  10. You're assumptions are flawed. I might be way worse than you're giving me credit for.
  11. I'm pretty sure that is the understanding of alot of people around here. I have several aquantances that supply crappie for giant monthly fish frys at their Church and at VFW club functions. It's a safe assumption that they are not doing that in adherence to the wildlife code of Missouri. Numerous police and county lawmen are members of the church's though.....so they need not worry about a sting. Proof that a blind eye is turned when it benefits the proper group of folks.
  12. Exactly! I will admit though, that I have never liked waterfowl at all, and had tried it cooked several different ways, but ol'Billetheads goose fajita's are truly delicious and I wish I had one in front of me right now. So there's that. I can't imagine anyone tasting the Whites we cook here (either fried or baked) and honestly saying that they don't like the flavor.
  13. It has always been my belief that "possession limit" is the most you are allowed to have stashed anywhere, per license. I always stop keeping Whites when I have 30 in the freezer....until we have eaten some. Technically we could have 30 more on my daughter's license, but there's never a need for that.
  14. He ain't poaching (that we know of) he just loves to fish and is so dang poor that he has to sell his fish to buy gas. In all reality.....how many do you think he'll find buyers for? Leave the poor bastard alone and go fight some REAL crime. 🙄
  15. Boy wouldn't it suck to get charged with a felony over less than 20 bucks ? That probably won't even pay for his gas to court.
  16. Well his girlfriend is a graduate from Smartass U. so I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. 🤣
  17. Don't think Duckett offers fly rods. The PROPER way to fit a reel seat is to slide it down from the tip and land in position on the tapered blank. If a rod was built well there's no pulling a reel seat off the butt side. Can't happen. Building a rod in any other fashion is relying too heavily on glue.
  18. Fishermen are so kind ! People start businesses in every field imaginable, but only fishermen are concerned whether or not they are capable of doing a good job and genuinely pleasing their customers. Having other ways of entertaining folks when the fishing sucks (either because of conditions, or because the client simply can't fish good enough) is what makes/breaks fishing guides. I would always tell jokes, feed them well, and had several other interesting things to do and see on the water if the fishing thing wasn't working out.
  19. Yeah I've been tased about 4 times, but only once was it my fault. When somebody drops off a boat with problems, and you've never seen it or them before... you never know what kinda bomb you're uncovering. Let's discuss these issues that you perceive. 😊
  20. Oh the LANYARD. You said switch. I was gonna give you some tips on replacing a kill switch 😃. You gotta be careful around that black/yellow wire, that sucker will knock your weiner off! 😋
  21. Holy crap, just merrily idling up a ramp and that sucker threw a rod? That totally blows! Pretty Smallie though.
  22. Good stuff! Now let's go to the other end of the steering link rod.
  23. I like that! Since I strictly flyfish for Smallies any fish that takes me to the reel makes my day. When your buddies stop fishing to watch the fight, then start grabbing nets and cheering you on......Trophy! But, the word "trophy" almost implys that it's headed to the taxidermist. I prefer a decent photo. 😊
  24. I have only had one over 20" and to be honest I was kinda disappointed in her, she didn't jump or do anything cool, just swam around in circles until I wore her down. I truly love the 15-18 inchers, they really put on a show!
  25. So yeah.....Pretty cool !
