  1. Well then maybe that's what they were busy doing while those dirty rotten scoundrels were powerbaiting zone 1.
  2. Dang, you'd think that PB2 was the only decent ramp on this lake.
  3. I'd have kept going West until I got word that she'd had the A/C fixed. Otherwise it's YOUR responsibility.
  4. Hell I predicted who it would be. 😊
  5. If you find yourself at the wrong place at the wrong time you can sure enough get attacked by a carnivore. Bear, Wildcat, Shark, or even lesser ones that you never worry about like coyotes or wild dogs. I've had less than comfortable run-ins with both of the later two.
  6. My apologies. I don't discuss Government, race, and religion "every day", so for me it was kinda fun. Sorry that it's an everyday thing for ya, that must suck. In my defense, I didn't start it. So..... Do you have a fishing strategy you'd like to share ? Wasn't aware that anyone was preventing that.
  7. Buy the pistol she wants, take it to the nearest Lowe dealer. Tell Sugarbritches that you found a boat you wanna buy.....and it comes with a free 9mm during the Memorial day weekend.
  8. You haven't said anything in this topic UNTIL it went there. So suddenly it interests you ? Cool! 😊
  9. That's called Pascal's wager, (pretend to believe whether you do or not). If he is real, and is what the bible claims, then I would hope that he'd respect my honesty. I'm not gonna be phoney and pretend to believe when I don't....just for the chance that he loves phoney butt-kissers and will grant me eternal life in heaven. All we know about God is what is in the Bible, and honestly, if the bible is truly the word of God then he is a selfish, worship hungry jackass that I either cannot understand or will ever agree with.
  10. "Believing" that something exists, with absolutely no evidence that it does, to the point that children are brainwashed from birth, wars get started, and people are killed by the thousands over it......is without a doubt the most assinine thing in the whole world. As long as I'm given the choice I'll not be a part of it.
  11. You don't know that heaven even exists, and I've certainly never seen anything that confirms it. So as far as I'm concerned this is as good as it gets. So there! 😋
  12. If you can clearly see then sure. If you can't then no of course not. Every decision requires the use of a brain. Some brains are better than others apparently.
  13. I do everything except copying and making invoices on my Moto Z. It even has a projector, if I need a larger screen I can make it as big as my garage door. Greatest invention ever. We have 3 laptop/tablets and honestly never use them for anything but letting the kids play games on them.
  14. I've seen videos. If you plan on being successful then yeah there certainly is a need to wade. Current seams and things like that pretty much demand that you consider your position when presenting a fly or lure. I'm surprised that you don't know that. A cast from just anywhere within reach is very seldom good enough.
  15. Someone that hasn't waded in awhile SHOULDN'T feel safe. Start wading in gentle easy spots and graduate from there. I'm tired of hearing older people claim that they CAN'T do certain things anymore. Yes they can, it's just been awhile and they need to restart and build up muscle memory and confidence. They learn that it's difficult to just jump right in like they were 20....so they just give up and say "oh well, I'm too old and feeble to do this now". Horse Manure! That's a cop out. If you really wanted to do it you'd do it. People with no legs at all can do it, so quit being a wimp.
  16. I can tell you that on Mark Twain, Truman, and Lake O the roadbeds deeper than 10-12' are covered over in a blanket of soft soggy silt. For the most part they are worthless as fish structure. Imagine an untravelled road drifted over after a Winter blizzard and you get the idea.
  17. Well you can't cuss, smoke, eat pork, or drink liquor there....so yes, technically I do.
  18. Gentle cruising speed in a boat like that is 28-30
  19. Everybody around my town pretty much hops into action anytime someone needs a hand. The only thing people around here don't do that I wish they would...is pick up more trash. Even truly good people seem to freely litter and toss trash around constantly. If somebody breaks down alongside the road, gets stuck in a mudhole, or a tree falls across the road.... before ya know it, it has turned into a tailgate party. Just yesterday a culvert washed out on our road. My wife and I grabbed a couple shovels and headed down there. Within 15 minutes we had 3 other guys shoveling and a tractor on the way. Then here comes a gal with a giant bag full of BBQ corn dogs and another guy heads over the hill to grab a case of beer and a diet Pepsi. Heaven ain't got $#|t on Gravois Mills. 😀
  20. Can't say that I've ever known anyone that would ignore a situation like that and just keep fishing. It's kinda like having an article published about you for shaking someones hand. Breaking News:. Ketchup reaches out and shakes Wrench's hand. What a wonderful gesture from a true American!
  21. I got a little concerned about this earlier. Was on my way to get parts and decided to turn around and go back home. Nothing came of it as far as I know.
  22. As always, the stories fly around and nothing adds up. I have a customer in the area that said he swam to a dock, called for help, and waited on the dock until help arrived. Allegedly he seemed reasonably sober, but badly shaken up and had a bad gash on his shoulder.
  23. Many times the "designated driver" isn't a very skilled boat operator, and doesn't know their way around the lake. It isn't PC to say it....but I'd rather have a legally drunk guy at the helm that knows his way around and knows how to drive a boat, than someone that's only driving because he's the most sober one in the group. When you run into a bluff, but are sober enough to swim to safety and call for help, that pretty much tells me that inexperience likely played a bigger role in the accident than anything else. I mean, if I'm so drunk that I run into a bluff then I'm incapable of walking, much less swimming to a dock, climbing up on it and completing a call on a wet cellphone.
  24. I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and claim that if he was capable of swimming to the nearest dock and calling for help then he wasn't THAT drunk. The authorities and the media love to blame everything they can on "being buzzed". I wanna know what kinda phone he was carrying, because I want one.
  25. What's the truck worth on trade-in ? Having 2 vehicles and a bicycle insures I'll never be without transportation.
