  1. I meant the first one. The second one I was just trying to fire some of y'all up. Everytime someone talks about how the gubment wants to take our guns, I wonder where they got the idea that the gubment even cares who has guns or not, or who may have gotten killed by someone using one in the first place. I don't see stolen guns being any worse than stolen anti-freeze or gasoline. A person can get their hands on something easier to kill people with even if guns didn't exist.
  2. Nice ! Real Nice!
  3. When you get one take the price you gave for it, plus maintenance, and divide that by the number of hours on it when it lays down for good, and tell us what the cost per hour of operation was. We did that recently on a reasonably well maintained 115 4-stroke that we knew the full history on, and the cost per hour was $24.48 For comparison I also figured up a Johnson GT150 that is 16 years older than the 115 4-stroke and the old Johnson (of which I also know the full history of) came out to $8.31 per hour. Now, will you save $16.17 per hour on gas? Close....but not quite. And the 2-stroke is 16 years older....and still running. Add to that it's resale value, even at its age, exceeds the non-functional 4-stroke by enough to compensate the majority of any fuel cost savings along the way. And did I mention that it's still running? Runs good too, so in another year or so she'll be paying ME to run it. Let's also not forget that we are comparing a 115 pontoon pusher to a 150 bass boat motor. Sorry, but 4-strokes are losers if you plan on keeping them awhile. If you're one of those guys that trades boats every other year, then fine, but somebody down the road is gonna get hosed. No two ways about it.
  4. Boat doesn't even have it's first scratch and he's already lost confidence in that POS 4-stroke.
  5. Yeah that's my position as well. I wanna like the guy but he keeps answering questions that nobody is asking, and turning every possible conversation into something about carp. And now here he is trying to make the case that other fish are no better than carp. I've never hit the ignore button on anybody, and I really don't wanna do it on him because I value some of his input. But dang! MoCarp, your crusade is having a backward effect, it is making many of us despise carp even more than we did before. Please don't make me start fishing for them just so I can stomp them into the mud and laugh like a maniac while doing it.
  6. Why do guys do this? I launch and load boats and pontoons by myself all the time, it's a piece of cake (unless it is a closed bow runabout with a roller trailer, then it's a PIA.... but I can still do it). Nothing sets me off worse than some lazy prick screaming at his wife like a retard over something that he apparently can't do either. I just wanna tell her to serve papers on that jackoff and make sure she gets the boat in the divorce.
  7. Wait until they suck the lake down to 655 or below, put on some leather gloves and wading boots, then go for a shoreline stroll, building rock piles and cairn's along the way. A rock pile directly underneath a dock cable is MONEY. Did this one a LONG time ago, it has fallen completely apart but still produces a fish or two nearly everytime I visit it, Spring-Summer-Fall. And has for over 10 years. Lake level is at 653.8 in the pics
  8. Probably a false flag/inside job, so they can enact new regulations on how firearms can be shipped and delivered. The guns will probably "miraculously" show up at a gun show somewhere.....and then gun shows, and the parcel shipments of firearms, will be outlawed. Then they'll start chipping away at private sale and transfer, as well as inherited guns. They first have to create a good REASON to enforce these rules.....and now they have successfully completed that. I mean c'mon. A whole pallet or two of guns and zero security around them? You really buying that crock of bull butter? That 25k is more likely BAIT. If you have any information then you ain't getting 25 grand.....You're getting a shot in the arm that causes a sudden heart attack.
  9. I think the popularity is in how well they cast. Usually used on blitzing stripers and stuff where the most important thing is getting a fly in front of them quickly. Kinda like a Deciever which truly has no tempting qualities but can be cast a 60-70 feet with ease. Sometimes the fish will eat anything that moves as long as you can put it in their face when they are all fired up.
  10. Oh that's just GREAT! Took myself yet another butt Whoopin this evening. I've obviously lost my White bass flyfishing mojo. Gonna have to break the gear out I guess. Darn it!
  11. Sure. One girl could have too. All we know is that they got taken, I didn't hear/read anything indicating that they all vanished at once. Last I heard was that they had no video or evidence pointing to how they disappeared or who did it. Automatically we assume it was a couple guys, but that's not good investigating if you have no evidence.
  12. Crap. Man I dunno. If you're feeling good I wanna tell you to leave those doctors alone. Stay as far away from them as possible and don't let them chemo you to death. If you're feeling poorly, can't do anything, and have nothing to lose THEN let them practice on ya. That's probably the wrong thing to say, but it's what I feel in my heart and I'm not good at keeping my thoughts to myself. Good luck, brother.
  13. I don't think it matters on that style baitfish pattern. I honestly don't understand the popularity of those. They have no action whatsoever and tow through the water like a snagged leaf. Just any old thing with eyes on it does not a good fly make.
  14. Was it multiple males ?
  15. That was "encouragement" ? Reads more like a fold to me. Maybe my reading comprehension is wack. Either way it's older than the cottage cheese I just threw away, and I no longer have a taste for it. You win by default. Congrats, bro.
  16. Speaking of turning over...
  17. My wife's BFF works for ATT wireless and has been with them for 11 years. They trade ownership on average of twice every 3 years. Always in a perpetual state of policy changes and meetings with new GM's. With each new owner, surveillance gets stepped up. No substantial thefts or anything have ever happened but each new change includes MORE surveillance and less chairs. It probably drives them crazy that they can't put in a toilet cam. Buncha weirdo's!
  18. No problem splicing transducer cables (they are "spliced" in the connectors) but yeah you gotta seal the splice to eliminate water intrusion. Liquid tape over each splice, then shrink wrap, then smear silicone over the shrink wrap.
  19. If you'd quit chasing them they'd quit running !
  20. Beats me. Homeowner's covered it so I really wasn't out much, but that whole deal was messed up. The truly odd part is that even though I had a judgement against me that never showed up on my credit report.
  21. Definitely.
  22. Never see them myself but I know they are around. Kinda like skunks, only time I see one is dead on the road.
  23. True. There's something about a noisy black buzzbait that these fish just never seem to get tired of. A 1/2 or 3/4 Crock-O-Gator Head Knocker in black never gets put away in my boat. Always good for a few bonus fish and quite often they are large.
  24. I'd start in the backs and work your way out. A large cove that faces south and has a nice wide backend flat would be a ideal place to start.
  25. I financed a new Lowe 180/Evinrude 115 just to help a local dealer out....and it was a really good buy. The finance company sent letters saying that I was obligated to carry full coverage insurance on it and they knew that I wasn't. I told them that it was in my garage therefore covered under my homeowner's policy, and wasn't being used, wasn't even licensed, and I acknowledged that I realized that I was responsible for the loan regardless. They didn't care and insisted that if I didn't fully insure it separately that they'd apply a "forced placed policy" and add the premium to my monthly payments. I asked how much my payments would increase and it was only 14.00/mo. Well that was cheaper than any policy I could have gotten on my own so I said "fine do it". 10 months later a tornado ate the boat, I called and informed them, and they said I still had to pay off the loan in full. I refused so 4 months later they repo'ed what was left of the boat, got a judgement and WON. The judge never even allowed me to speak. WTF was that forced placed policy and payment increase for?
