  2. Very nice! What did they bite on?
  3. Ahh, OK they can hold it back then, no prob.
  4. What is the highest water Truman can hold? They'll likely be at 720+ by tomorrow.
  5. Bring hummus and you will become my daughters best friend. Personally it smells like dip bait to me and I can't bring myself to try it.
  6. Where does MDC get THEIR fisheries info from? Of all the fishing reports you'll ever find, you can count on one thing....The one from MDC will be the least reliable. I guarantee it. I've known a bunch of MDC employees and none of them fish. They don't accept info from US (the ones that do), so where the hell do they get their Intel from? God? (wouldn't surprise me).
  7. They always say that. They are ashamed to say the truth, which is... "we don't know"...because they think they know everything. Of all the fishing reports you'll ever see, the ones from MDC will be the least reliable. I prefer to blame their biologists
  8. I can't remember how high it got in '93 but they closed the lake off to all recreational boating for fear of dock walkway and seawall damage from boat wakes. I wanna say it got to 663 but I'm not sure. I do know that pitching in the bushes at 661 is a BLAST. I'd be out there right now if my daughter hadn't commandeered my truck ! Little Hefer!
  9. I eat WHITE bass. I let the green and brown ones go, but if I could keep some 12-14 inch LM I'd sure enough knife a mess from time to time. A big September fish fry and hushpuppy shindig here is actually in the planning stages. All who know their way are certainly invited.
  10. I'd love to see it top 662. C'mon RAIN SOME MORE!
  11. Yeah, still waiting for that to happen.
  12. What fisheries information ?
  13. You won't hear this from a BIOLOGIST so you won't believe it, BUT the Lamine headwaters get so much runoff from Turkey farms that I wouldn't want to put my body in it. I'm glad it flows Northerly to the Missouri instead of Southerly.
  14. Y'all keep trying to compare MY career to a biologists career. I didn't design or invent outboard engines, but I can sure enough point out areas that need improvement moreso than the areas the designers are spending all their time on. And you can't Google that. You CAN Google the intelligence of the design.....but nothing comes up concerning the shortcomings. MDC biologists always come to the conclusion that they are regulating resources perfectly, and that no changes ever need to be made. Ironic isn't it?
  15. Awesome, good job! Yes sir, I'm loving all this water. I hope it holds at 660 for a week or so.
  16. For a biologist to impress me he'd have to teach me something that I can't learn from a Google search. In trade I'd be happy to teach him/her a few things that they couldn't Google.
  17. Carbs ? Nope!
  18. I'll give you that one. LOL
  19. I don't "hate" biologists, they are just looking for stuff to "study" and trying to keep busy to justify their phoney-baloney jobs so the paychecks keep coming. If I was one of them I'd prolly do the same thing. What bugs me is everyone automatically accepting what they say as iron-clad gospel.
  20. Yeah, and that yellow one isn't even a legal keeper.
  21. If you wish to stay safe from other boaters then stay clear of them. If the lake is already too crowded when you get there then don't launch! or if it gets crowded while you are out then chill in a quiet cove for awhile until the crowd thins out. That is the smartest way to operate. Buying a boat capable of handling rough water just so you can blast off out in the middle of a crowded lake, and then cursing the heavy boat traffic....Well that just seems ridiculous. Keep your distance from other craft, it's easy to do.
  22. So you pass the test in a 14' Jon boat w/15hp tiller.....and THAT means you're OK to hop in a 35' Scarab ? Or do you have to take a new test every time you buy a new boat? Best just leave things alone IMO.
  23. I've been near killed multiple times on the roads and government involvement couldn't be more intact there. Why would WATER make it any different ? At least on the water you have a choice, you can STAY AWAY from other boats, which is what I always do. I trust nobody to maintain their course and I don't want to be trusted to maintain mine.
  24. Thanks. I do too! I haven't been on a good Spinnerbait bite in years, and I have our own Jerry Rapp to thank for this one.
  25. Gotcha. Yeah in my mind the place they SHOULDN'T be is in the deep/dark abyss, but they do get caught there, so who knows? I would just rather throw at something I can see instead of something I have to try to imagine being there.
