  1. They don't "bite it" but it isn't hard to drift a fly in their mouth if you can see them. Let's call it elite snagging.
  2. Nice work, brother !
  3. Whaa? Now I'm curious what you spent on the repower. And do you now have the blown 175 for sale ?
  4. You gotta buy those Poe's by the dozen. At one time I had a coffee can full of broken ones. It's a fish catcher though for sure.
  5. Y'all are funny. The MDC tells you the cottonmouths at Crane won't hurt you...and you believe that. But then they tell you NOT to eat red shrooms and you're all.... "Oh horseshit, gimme another plate full!"
  6. Since when does the MDC investigate the cause of every death in the state ? Do their biologists do autopsies on the side ? A canoeist is found dead, and they just call it a drowning..... Nobody thinks to check him for a bite mark. Boy, I say BOY.....Ya gotta use yer head Boy !
  7. Why don't you clowns just go fishing, and then swap stories ? If you need to win/loose money then play liars poker with 20's
  8. Sure the guys that are STILL LIVING claim they won't chase you. But the dead guys tell a different story.
  9. Who wants to fish where you constantly have to worry about something slipping up behind you ? This is why we have trout parks.
  10. I was told that a defense lawyers best advise was to keep your mouth shut. And that the right to remain silent was the most important one of all. The hardest person to convict (and easiest to defend) is one who is a deaf mute.
  11. At the current lake level I doubt if you can get launched at the Brown bend ramp with anything bigger than a jon boat. Mimosa beach might be OK. That's the only other ramp I am familiar with over on that side of the lake. Not sure if Coffman marine is still in biz ?
  12. I have very shiney balls, and one is bigger than the other !
  13. Hook a trailer to it.
  14. I think the only reason I quit them is because I started dragging C-rigs and they didn't work very well for that. So to avoid carrying separate hooks for Texas/Carolina rigging I changed over to Gamakatsu/Owner style hooks. Those Tru-Turns did me well for a lot of years. Had to sharpen them though!
  15. Just out of curiosity I looked to see what was the oldest bait in the boxes that I carry, and it turned out to be a floating Rapala F7 in blk/silver. Pretty sure I have had it since I was a teenager. Second oldest is either a Baby Torpedo in "baby bass", or a Pop-R in silver/blk. The really cool thing is that I can vividly remember every good sized fish I have caught on those baits even though it has been MANY YEARS AGO. I can remember where, what boat I was in, and who (if anyone) was with me. I should really hang them on the wall, cuz if I was to loose them now I think I'd cry.
  16. Nah, I can only HOPE that my future SIL turns out to be a die hard fisherman.
  17. 8" Electric Blue Larew was a hot number on LO back when we had milfoil and the water was blue. Can you even buy Tru-Turn worm hooks nowadays ?
  18. I can't understand why Ameren started doing this second drawdown bullshit. The same thing jacked up the spawn last year....and now here they've done it again. These fish are gonna start nesting at the current level and THEN they'll put 5' of water on top of them. Sonsabitches!!!! Works out great for the catfish but it's not good at all for green bass and crappie....and it is devastating to the whites.
  19. Stagger your splices over a 4-6" span so you don't end up with a big set of dog testicles, and it will withstand the bends and flexes just fine.
  20. I have a 20 y/o daughter that can outfish most guys, but those skills have taken a back seat for now as she has "more important" things going on. I hope it is temporary.
  21. I will tell ya one thing (that I actually think is hilarious), Setting down a talon/power pole will keep you from getting a lot of bites.
  22. I always answer my phone. Ya never know when it's someone wanting to give you money !
  23. The extreme back ends of little cuts and coves, on the upper end of a major tributary arm.
