I can tell you for certain that one of those well maintained rigs are a better investment than a similar one that has only been run 20 times in 5 years and left to sit covered for months at a time.

CPS doesn't like to back off and admit that they wasted any time or resources on anyone. Apparently that doesn't lookgood on their end of year report....or whatever, so they'll try HARD to make a case on anything they possibly can. (Unlocked liquor cabinets, knives left laying on counters, ect.) I've heard some pretty rediculis accountings from folks who have had unjustified dealings with them. Makes me wonder if some regional agencies aren't in the adoption business or something.

Waste of time and money. He was hotlined and it is their appointed job to investigate, heads would have rolled if they hadn't. So why "tie up the courts" with bs?

The thing I'm a bit uneasy about....and of course it's not shown or mentioned, is the eventual release of brood stock that have been injected with "synthetic hormone inhancers" (or whatever it's more correctly named). Makes me wonder how many frankenstien walleye have crossed peoples tongues ? Is that safe?

When things go wrong at speeds over 50 it's no fun at all. I got ejected at 72mph into 40some° water, scared me bad but thanks to a kill switch and a good PFD I didn't get hurt. Then on another occasion I got thrown from the helm and faceplanted a Motorguide gator mount, broke a rib and lost some teeth. I didn't have the option of not ever getting in a fast boat again, but now I operate with alot more caution. I've never caught a fish at 60+mph, and I've never won or placed well in a tourney because I had 10-20 extra minutes of fishing time that day, so for me there's no good reason to haul-@$$ when fishing.

Yep, I was taught the same way Al. And it wasn't just "taught" it was pounded into my head relentlessly and my gun taken away for almost a whole season the one time I had a momentary lapse and swung the muzzle of my .410 past my brothers knees. I'll never forget my Dad asking me if I'd like to push my brother (who is a big ol'boy) around in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. On the way back home from the field I told my brother I was sorry, and my bro says "it's ok"..... Wrong (but right) thing to say, cuz it wasn't "ok" and the lecture started all over again and lasted all the way back home, and then for another hour almost while sitting in the truck out in front of the house before we carried our gear and birds to the house. I wasn't even allowed to carry my gun back in to the house. Later in life, as I hunted and plinked with various other friends it was immediately obvious that they hadn't endured the same degree of training. Not even close. And I doubt that very many of these daily gun toters have, and that is exactly why I am against everyone packing guns. Especially guys (and gals) that call their guns "weapons". To me that is a signal of a certain mindset that I am staunchly against. It's not a "weapon" until you use it like one.

Best advise I can give is to pick a species, learn everything you can about them, and concentrate only on one species of fish for awhile until you gain enough confidence that you feel like you could catch one just about anywhere one lives....and maybe even a few places they "aren't supposed to". The learning curve takes alot longer when you allow yourself to be distracted by "other" fish.

It happens because everyone "thinks" they need a "weapon"..... And guns have become the popular weapon of choice. Hi, and welcome to "Itty Bitty Merc Fuel System 101/Carb" 3 things.... If it is a Walbro carb (stamped WMB) then the fuel pump is operated by vacuum through a port at the carb flange, so a torn gasket is not acceptable, and gasket position is important.....see the little hole in it? When you put the carb back together what setting did you end up with on the idle jet (needle valve) ? Initial setting (before fine tuning) should be 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated. Regardless of whether it has the Tillotsen or Walbro carb there is a service update on the inlet needle valve (the newly recommended one has no spring on it and float level is set "level with the flange while holding the carb body upside down"). Good luck.....and isn't that starboard side flange nut a PIA to get on/off? I use a 7/16 snap-on combo wrench and a "kabob skewer" (also known as Itty-Bitty Merc Special tool # 762) Not to add extra pressure to you or anything....but if you drop that nut you're phucked. LOL

Yeah well, they also drained their oil on the ground, threw waste of all kinds in ditches and creeks (old appliances, mattresses, shingles, tires ect.) There wasn't a mile of county road free of rusty 55gal. barrels, wads of barbed wire, and various tractor parts. Then there were the "town branches" .......Ugh!..... Crappie don't migrate up creeks to spawn, and resident (creek dwelling) crappie are generally small and thin compared to lake crappie. There is a bunch that congregate just below the slab below Fiery fork but that's about the upstream limit of crappie in the lil'Ni. Greenmill to Prairie hollow is crappie spawn central beginning early-April.

As long as trout management has been going on in Mo. you'd think they'd have it pretty much figured out by now. Pisses me off when they act like it's a new thing, and still in the experimental stages. Things sure seemed to be alot more consistent back when everyone wasn't so blasted smart. LOL Whatever !

Lake O truly lacks in "fishing campgrounds". It's a shame. The only place that comes to mind that you haven't already mentioned is Red Oak, it's on the Osage arm in Standing rock cove, close to the mouth of the Nianguas. Nice ramp, docks and shower house, but more tailored to RVs.

That's the electric fillet knife that I have also, the blades flex and are easy to touch up with a chainsaw file. It has lasted a long time and is still going strong. Even got knocked in a bucket of water and tripped a breaker once. Dried it out and kept right on going.

Trout? Pfffft! Do you just consider it to be "underperforming" because there's a lack of trout? How are the native species holding up?
