    Some good sized ones have been following the shad to the surface in the evenings. Following the schools of 2"shad and suspending a jig 3-4ft. under a bobber might work, but tossing small jigging spoons into the schools is a quicker way to get a few decent ones before it gets dark. Seems to only last about 45 minutes, but might last longer on a calm cloudy day if we were to get one. Other than that, there are tons of dinks in the deep brushpiles and along bluffs like always. That's all I got..... Good luck if ya go.

    You're a tad bit mis-informed, I've watched them throw frisbee, win repeatedly at Horseshoes, and ride moto-X with extreme precision. A true addict is only slow and sluggish when he/she is "crashing". The dung turns 59 year old couch potatoes into 23 y/o atheletes. Why do you think so many people get hooked on it?

    Guys! I was mistaken. Truman is currently 704.6 Wanna know what the lake level was on Aug.20 2011 (last year) ? It was exactly the same, 704.6 November (deer season) 2011 it got down to 704.1 or thereabouts.

    I guess I've never "camped" where I felt that was a problem. We leave all sorts of valuables unguarded when we camp and the only thing I can ever remember being vandalized was food items, by critters.

    For creeks I think it's hard to beat a 1/8 Strike King Bitsy bug jig with a Zoom Lil'critter craw trailer. Pitch it close to cover (or in the cover) and let if fall on a semi-tight line. Most times if a fish is there it won't hit the bottom, but if it does give it a slow drag, then a hop. No bite? Crank it in.

    Well sure, if you pull a truck out of a ditch with it it might stretch a bit before it snaps, but your not gonna stretch one while it's hooked up between the outboard shift linkage and control box.....other things will give first. Control cables both push and pull...... why do we never hear of them "being compressed" ? Next time you are faced with a cable that you think might be "stretched" go ahead and pull that core out and measure it. If you bring me a stretched one I'll buy you lunch.

    Shouldn't be any racheting in Neutral. If you can't adjust the cable barrel to get a clean Neutral while still getting a solid shift to F&R then you'll need to have it checked out and fixed right. Could be a worn shift cam or broken detent in the control box, or the bearing carrier in the lower unit walking out. Shift/throttle cables do not "stretch" (I hear that all the time..... Not sure where that "diagnosis" ever came from, but it's BS). LOL Don't just let it go though cuz it's probably wearing your shift clutch down pretty good while going down the highway.

    Is there a shortage of them in China? Are their waters so polluted that even Asian carp can't flourish? Sounds like the end of unemployed Americans if so. What methods are legal to capture them and transport to the plant ?

    Are you 100% legal being there in the first place? I ask because you said it was your "local haunt", which could technically be trespassing. If it isn't a well traveled public stream then you might be causing yourself more problems than you are the dude with the bobcat. Odds are "Bobcat man" owns the property you stood on and that phone call could mean you'll not be fishing there anymore.

    I know it. There are billions of bluegill hanging around the docks, shorelines, and brush here, but they seem to vanish before they get 9". I never hear of anyone catching big bluegill here, not even an occasional one by accident.

    No experience with the BS (pun intended) but I have done a fair amount of searching for big gills on Lake O and have cone to the conclusion that they are too scarce to bother with. Any farm pond in the state seems better for gills than this lake.... not sure why but I never even hear about a big mess of fat gills around here.

    I like the Zoom MagII during the mid-day, and the Zoom Ol'Monster early and late. Color is up to you but grn.pumpkin and tequilla shad is what I use. Texas rig, pegged. 1/4 or 5/16 Just cast or work the worm into a piece of brush, pop it gently off a limb and swim it steadily back to the boat with the rod tip low. The bite is either a weightless feeling or feels like you picked up a leaf. When you feel that, sweep-set hard to the side and reel like a madman if they run towards you.
