I grew up in dent county tanvat. You are right about the people, they are very narrow minded and hate any change. Sometimes they take things to the extreme and way over exaggerate. Some of them think they can do as they please and this is what ruins it for everyone else. Being a local they think they are entitled and own the river. I can see kind of why from their viewpoint since they are the ones mostly on it all the time, but they need to listen and try to compromise so it is fair for everyone else as well keep the river from degrading. Once you get to know most of the people from that area your opinions usually change and they are not as bad as you once thought before. I say that because I grew up there and have lived in stl for the last six years and know how people's opinions are about people from that area. Hope it works out for everyone and a fair decision is made.

That's why I don't like their plans because they have there mind made up already and are not listening to what the public think. The people that have out this all together do not care what we think and probably hardly ever use the river. It's bogus in my opinion and I think that's why people are so angry over the whole situation. I just hope it works out and is fair for everyone including the jet boats. I live fishing from round springs to two rivers and it is almost Impossible to fish all the spots unless you have a jet. I know there are some idiots who are out of control but I would hate for them to ruin it for everyone else that fishes that stretch of river with a jet. Some really great smallmouth fishing all through there. I've seen and caught several that were close to 4lbs. All in all I hope it all works out.

I went ahead and picked up the kvd one. It didn't seen that heavy and was not near as heavy as the wright and McGill glass rod. It is rated up to an oz. I really liked the feel. The handle does seen a little short. Overall for the price I think I will be more than happy with it. Also going to throw some bigger swimbaits on it as well.

Bass pro has these on sale for 59.99. I was looking at the 7'10'' rod. It says cranking on it. For the price in thinking about getting one. Any one tried one?
-
Thanks for the input richy. Appreciate it. How much difference is there in the slow and fast sink?
-
Thanks for the report. Glad you caught some.Nice bass by the way. I've been dying to get down there and go but the boat is in storage right now and I'm knee deep in school work. Most likely will make it down in a week or two.
-
Phil that would be awesome if you recorded the audio. I would love to be there but can't make it down.
-
Has anyone tried these on the rock? Thinking about picking up a few. They look to have really good action.
-
I figured they were caught on the Arig but seen where the winner had said he caught them on the live target jerker. I know you can't believe what people say all the time but just had me wanting to buy and try one.
-
The word on the street is the new live target jerkbait was the what caught the winning bag. I liked the look of them when I was in bass pro the other day but was not sold. Guess I am now ha. Bank account -50 haha

You never know about the whites. I have found a mother load of them in the dam area spawning last year in just a little cove right off the main lake. It's all in the timing in my opinion

I have noticed, especially at TAble rock that when the sun is going down and they turn on the generators the fish go into a frenzy for about 20 or 30 mins and then it's done. The angle of the sun and the generation I think play a big role in that.

Those rules are fine with me spoondog but once again if they were down there handing out tickets we wouldn't even be discussing this. I hate how people think we need all that's amendments. If the rangers were down there there wouldn't be extra access roads and horse trails. The only time I have seen a ranger was when he waited for me to get done fishing at welch's access and stopped me while I was pulling out. They need to be enforcing this more because I have seen countless times when a person has kept more than 4 trout. The last trip down there I seen 3 people with 5 or 6 trout on the stringer. That's why the trout are all small down there too. No enforcement what so ever
-
Next time in that situation I think I'm going to throw a rattle trap and see what happens. I have been trying to throw a rattle trap more more after hearing some awesome stories about them.
-
Guys I'm a local from down there I think the big problem is not enough enforcement! I love taking my jet boat down there and fishing. It is a great smallmouth fishery and because of some idiot drunks they are going to ruin it for us. Believe I have never seen a ranger down there patrolling and they wonder why people are running wild down there. I'm so sick of them saying well the jet boats aren't working down there, well if they would actually get some rangers down there it would be a different story. The people trying to make these new amendments haven't even been there most likely and have no idea what's going on. Just really pisses me off

Hazbin, I was thinking the same thing. After I couldn't get many takers I picked up the wart and threw to the flat, the boat was in about 30ft. I had server all k's from that school come up and hit the wart right under the boat. I think the orange belly is what was triggering the strikes at twlight.

Here is a couple pics from my graph. The fist one is from late summer and the last one is from late November. The first pic is the most shad i have ever seen at one time, They kept blacking out my finder. Did not find many bass around them though. Just a few really really deep under them. Could not get them to bite the spoon though. The next pic, I was getting ready to call it a day because it was getting dark and pulled up on this massive school of fish. I only managed a few spots and LM from the area as it was getting dark but I figured it was a bunch of whites with some bass mixed in. The next day I went back to the location and found they were not grouped up like before so I focused on the flats and ledges and caught a butt load of LM and spots. It just seemed odd that I didn't catch many that evening when they were in a feeding frenzy but I was able to pick them off the next day after they had dispersed throughout back of the cove. maybe there was so much bait I had no chance of them hitting mine because of there other options. Just would like to get some of your guy's thoughts on this. Can never lean enough on your electronics in my opinion.

The last week in February last year, I caught my PB LM on Table Rock in the dam area. It weighed 8lbs 10oz. It is the first pic below. A few weeks later I caught another big one from the exact same location. I didn't have a scale on me but I knew it had to be over 8lbs. It was 25" long. I think it was a just a little shy of my PB. I also caught my PB smallmouth last year in early fall. Did not have a scale on me at the time but I believe it was about 4 1/2 lbs. My previous PB smallmouth was caught in a tournament and it weighed 3lbs 15 oz. I am really jealous of all the big smallmouth that you guys have caught. I would trade my big LM for a 6lb smallie anyday.

KVD to me is without doubt the best. Then I would say Rick Clunn with his 4 classic titles. 3rd would be Roland Martin, 6 angler of the year titles but never won a classic. Someone new to watch and up and coming though is Brandon Palanuik. He hasn't been on tour long but he has some quality wins and I look for him to continue this. He fell just short of the classic last year and I personally met him and talked to him. Real nice young guy.

Last year the jig bite for me was no where it has been in the past. I still caught a lot of fish on a job but it seems last year the jig bite was really down for me. Did anyone else experience this?
-
I like the 15 lb fluro because I think the fish see to less than the braid. They will still hit the a rig if you are using braid but I've found you will catch more when using the fluro. Also if you are fishing deep to will get down better but if you still like using the braid you can just add bigger jig heads.
-
The braid works well. I have found out though if you use 15lb fluro it will draw more strikes I used to hate Flurocarbon but now I love it. You may lose a few but unless you get in a cedar you can get it out almost Everytime, that is if you fool around with it enough.

I think it is safe to say everyone will be at home watching football this weekend with all the cold air temps!

As long as FSU doesn't try to stop the run with only 3 down lineman like Mizzou did, they should win. I thought that was a horrible gameplan against Auburn only using 3 DL. You can't expect to stop the run like that.

Is this what you are talking about Bo on the twin spin? Looks good. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/War_Eagle_Twin_Spin_Spinnerbaits/descpage-WETWSPI.html
