  1. Happy it helped Basschomper! I almost went on Sunday but decided to stay by the fireplace. What was the water temp in the Mutton Creek area?
  2. Since we planned on having our big meal on Friday, and Thursday was the only decent day during the break, I went fishing.......and I'm glad I did!!!! Since we were going to have such strong winds out of the south I decided to put in at Roark, needless to say I was the only one at the ramp. Got on the water about 7:30 and fished until 3:30. Ran up into the timber and started fishing the cuts that ran east/west, because of all the wind I immediately caught blacks & whites on the wind blown banks. Caught some really nice 2 to 3# whites and a number of 12 to 14 inch bass. The water had come up 2 to 3 feet and I figured out that the keeper bass had gone back into the flooded bushes and wood. I also found keepers on the channel-swing banks. Spinnerbaits hammered the bigger fish but keepers were also caught on shad crankbaits, jigs, and brush hogs. I actually stopped to watch one guy fishing from shore who was catching whites on most every cast, he had a bucket that was filling up fast with those big whites. He kept yelling at me to cast into his water but it was too darn much fun watching him hammer them! Wind blew 20+ and water temps were steady at 52. Rough guess I caught 18 whites and 25 blacks with the best 5 going 12+ pounds. I'm going to try to head up tomorrow and fish the main lake, with the north winds I'm sure everything is going to change. It was one of those days that you wished you had someone with you to experience Stockton at its finest. Tight Lines, hope everyone had a chance to fill their tummy's!
  3. I was up Sunday and the wind really had them turned on! Fished out of Roark Bluff and a buddy and I had 30 whites and 29 blacks. The whites were all in the 2 to 2.5 pound range and I think we only had one keeper black. Small shad crankbaits and a chartreuse curly-tail grub seemed to be the ticket for us. 55 degree water. All the fish are still alive and well! Tight Lines!
  4. Caught 90% of them on topwater after finding them on a small crankbait. However I went back up to the same cove today and blanked on the whites.......go figure.
  5. Put in at Mutton and ran up past twin bridges. Found a wind blown cove and the white bass were loaded in the cove. Spent about an hour in the cove and caught 50+!!! Released all of them and continued to try and find the black's. Ended up with 10 or 12 blacks with 3 that would have kept. Great morning for whites, slow day for black's. Tight Lines!
  6. I was up on Tuesday and was on the lake over 8 hours out of Mutton Creek. I fished from Mutton and on up into the trees in Sons Creek. We had 13 bass and 2 eyes. It was pretty breezy all day and we kept thinking we would find some whites but none were to be found??? Out of the fish we caught only one bass measured. I keep thinking it's going to turn on but it's slow on getting here. Most of the bass came on deeper channel swing banks on senkos and shakey heads. Headed back up tomorrow and am going to concentrate on the lower lake. Water was still 76 to 78 degrees. The White-Bass mystery continues........
  7. Ahhhhh fishing in MO!
  8. I have been on the water about 26 hours over the past week. 3 bass w/ one keeper, 1 crappie, and 1 carp on a crappie jig. Tough isn't even a tough enough word. Slack Lines abound!
  9. What's this mornings level?
  10. I too am waiting for the video!
  11. Get um Wrench!!! Love the post!!!
  12. Thanks Waterpossum!
  13. Any idea what the top 3 weights were last night out of State Park?
  14. Jim, at least we got to fish one of the Friday Nighters together. I'll find another partner for this Friday and we'll fish it in your honor. Rest in peace.
  15. Good to meet you Hammer! So very sorry about my rookie move almost throwing you out of the boat, what a bone-head move! Happy to hear & see that you had a great day! Let's fish sometime!
  16. Yes it was, guess I should have slowed down the retrieve and given them a chance!!!!
  17. Good job, especially for just one guy in the boat. Happy I could help, though it didn't sound like I was much help.
  18. We had a bunch of the gizzard shad, 8 to 10 inches, following our spinnerbaits up to the boat on Sunday, it was funny to see then chasing the blade......though I'm not sure why they were chasing it??
  19. Nice Job Zarra!
  20. Looks like some of the ladies are starting to nest in the mid-lake area!
  21. The water clarity in the mid lake area is a clear as I can ever remember. Some of the main lake cuts I would swear I could see 8 to 10 feet. Do you have a tourney this weekend Cade?
  22. Out of Mutton today, ended up with a nice sack of keepers including one at 4.25. Mainly jigs and shakey-heads. Most came out of water less than 2 feet. With all these 14" walleyes next year should be a good year for keepers. Water temps were 56 to 59. Saw a few nests but no fish on them.
  23. SRJ, I'd love to fish some with you if our schedules can align. It sounds like the Pomme Saturday night tourneys are not going to happen so I'd love to try some of the Friday nighters up at Stockton. My boat or yours, no difference to me. If you have a last minute need I will PM you my number. I'm going to take quite a bit of time off this summer so I should be fairly flexible during the week to just wet a line. I fished hard this past weekend with a buddy that came down from St Louie, 8 hours on Saturday & 11 hours on Sunday. 8 eyes w/ 2 keepers, all 3 types of bass with over 80 total, maybe 12 keepers with the largest going exactly 5 lbs. Good bite on the shakey head and an under-spin. Out of Mutton both days, never touched Sons this time. Tight Lines!
  24. There is a TON of timber everywhere up in Son's Creek, take it slow and easy, even in what appears to be open water....many a boat has been torn up and/or run up on shallow water if you don't know where you are going. The best thing to do is just get on the water and take a look-see.
