good to hear you had that pattern down on the lower end of the lake. I've been on the same pattern up the creeks on the upper end. it confirms to me my theory its not the area you fish but its the pattern you fish.
congrats!!!!! those whts sure are fun to catch they interfere with our bass fishing hahaha!!!!!! last sunday my partner pulled a 4.95 kicker out of a small pocket and i threw right back in there with a jerk bait and BAM!!!! i thought i set the steal on another good bass but when i got it near the boat it was a darn wht in the 18in class. I'd loved to have caught it last week when I was meat fishing but during a derby it was kind of a let down.
drove down to springfield cove and get a nice mess off the bank down at the end of the boat docks on the point leading into the little pockets. lake still needs to come up before it gets good in there.
they are a blast to catch on a 7' light action crappie rod with 4lb test!!! i can eat them when I cut the red out and release them to the grease but after they are frozen. NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we ended up with 22 whts . a keeper eye and i caught and released 3 keeper green fish biggest being 16.5. that biggest sow was just shy of 18inches and we had several 14 to 16inch fish, most were females and by the look of their eggs they are about two weeks out from spawning.
I'm still on the same pattern as before. I'm fishing the mouth of the pockets in the creeks. blue or grey still seems to be the color if the water isnt real stained. 1/8oz pony head with a bluespeckled swimming minnow or blue ice in a bobby garland split tail just off the bottom seemed to work best today. didnt limit out but theres a couple big girls in the 8 i caught. gonna get an earlier start tomorrow didnt start fishing till almost 3:00 this afternoon.
Dave I'm on a very similar bite on stockton and i agree i dont see it doing nothing but getting better. It wont be long till the big girls move in. Matter of fact we had a 4.95 kicker taken of that type of nothing bank. I'm fishing a derby tomorrow and the little rig is tied on and ready to rock and roll. the creek i'm fishing has small wash outs on the flat pea gravel banks and sunday our two largest fish came from the wash outs.
you might also consider Ruark Bluff area. id probably troll a #7 flicker shad in purple tiger color on the flats and up sons creek to the three hills area. you can hit the points and pockets and probably be productive. also the pockets in the ruark east camp ground might be good too.
Colton its a little bit early but Turnback at the O highway bridge and its in pretty good shape Campbell Ford above the 39 bridge on Sons Creek has always been good but theres not much water up there maybe next week it will come up a little.
As some of you know I've gotten active with the local high school fishing teams. I believe that if you put a young person in the woods or on the water you keep them off the streets. Coach Justin Nave is starting up a program at Parkview. i just received word that alot of donations have come in as far as plastics go but they are in need of hard baits and rods and reels amongst other things. They also need boaters so if anyone is interested in helping out what I think is a very important cause plz contact me and I will put you in contact with the people involved in supporting the new program. I want to thank everyone for their consideration.
ned rig, shakey head, wobble head with a beaver style bait or my go to is a craw tube, jerk bait, jig and last but not least a wiggle wart.BPS has some new exclusive wiggle wart patterns designed by a local custom painter who frequents this forum and is a legend in his own right.
heres the link to sportsman factory outlet ebay page. Sometimes theres some pretty good deals on there.

TS1H tournament speed spools were the first two Lew's I bought. Let me do some digging I might be able to find them cheaper. When I bought mine at Lews (sportsmans) on Bennett street in Springfield I got them on sale for 89.99. I use mostly tournament pros and super duties now but the tournament speed spools have held up good last couple of years.
no ive got a burgandy r93 ranger. we were fishing off the bank today just scouting around checking water conditions and looking for some different fish than the ones weve been on.
was at hulston bridge today only 3 above the bridge in the eddies. the river was in better shape than i thought it would be, we just need a few days of stable weather and i think it will get pretty good again.
I lean the1158 on the front down flat too champ and the 998 on the top rail I turn sideways and turn it down and lean it on the steering wheel when trailering. I love the 2.25 ram mounts because they are solid as a rock. My partner was fishing front deck when it happened and he'd changed the angle of the graph and didn't get it seized down. The old mounts were about worn out and you really had to put the whammy to them to get them tight. I'm trying to train myself to take the time to go over a mental check list ever time I move from spot to spot so I don't just take for granted my partners do what they are susposed to do.
