  1. I threw curados for a long time, then I bought the cheap Lews reel and it was just as good in my opinion. Since then I have upgraded to lews tournament pros and have not been disappointed what so ever. I think for the price Lews is hard to beat for a quality reel. Don't get me wrong. The shimono's are prob just as good but a little more pricey
  2. A lot of guys that go for stripers will free dive. The find a school on te electronics and hop in real quick. Stripers are smart and know what's up when they hear you breathing underwater. If they see you they don't stick around long. Sometimes walleye are curious and will come check you out. The large and smallmouth aren't scared at all the will come right up to you, you can almost touch them. It's amazing the size of bass you see in bull shoals. You can't shoot bass though. It wouldn't be much if a sport really
  3. Just the hooks that came on it. And no that smallmouth hooked himself a little deep in the lower jaw and the blood came from him. It wasn't in the gills so I think he will make it.
  4. We scuba, yeah there isn't a whole lot up that way. The clear waters in Arkansas are hard to beat. And you can only shoot rough fish in MO
  5. Put in at Mill creek and took out as soon as the fog cleared a little bit. Stopped at the K-city bridge and threw the fin a little bit, couldnt get it to run worth a darn so i put on a spook and caught a couple keepers. after that slowed down we went to the back of Mill creek where the water was muddy and picked up one keeper on a jig. Not a lot of fish but a fun morning.
  6. Anybody on here going to spear some fish this weekend? My brother and i are heading down to Norfork lake for a little tournament.
  7. Yep that was us. I went today for a couple hours. Just 1 on a frog. Didn't really try anything else
  8. I was there today and I think the hours at mill creek were 9-5. I might be mistaking. But I was there at 630 and it was still closed. Pretty sure it said they opened at 9.
  9. Tournament at ahoys. Tons of trucks not tons of parking
  10. We're you back in all the Lilly's? I was down there too. Me an a buddy were in a lil flat bottom. I ended up with 3 on the frog . Two were over 15 ad one 14 and a couple shorties on a little crank. I did go buy a little bit smaller of a frog and I had 4 fish hit and I got 3 to the boat. Def better hook up with the smaller one
  11. Mill creek is pretty nice it is a core ramp though. South across the k- city bridge a couple miles and take a right where the sign is towards mill creek

  13. Happy wife happy life
  14. go to www.hookedonbass.com Pete Wenners has a list of all the tournaments on the Rock. It doesnt look like he has the June tournys up yet but imm sure he will soon. and a good weekly report
  15. Wow it would almost be easier to just fillet it haha
  16. If you guys had crappier boats this wouldnt happen. Last year at Beaver creek ramp on BS they told me to make sure and check the nut on the ball before we pulled out because someone was going around taking the nuts off. That more like manslaughter not theft though
  17. its not the rod you use, its how you wiggle your worm
  18. Is it true that crappie with the black stripe diwn there back are James river natives. Seems like I read that somewhere once an I've beer caught one with that anywhere but table rock
  19. I agree with mr Andrews, i have tried a lot of frogs and for the price its hard to beat the academy house brand, seems like the hold up well, i fish springfield lake a lot with frogs too, it a blast i havent went down to a smaller size yet but i think i will try that, i had 10 blow ups yesterday and only got three in, one nice one that was a little over 17, not bad for that lake...I put him back so he can eat your frog next
  20. Only got three to the boat but had 10 blow ups on a frog, including this lil guy 17 1/4 inches
  21. We just set the lines off our dock, its just rock and mud there the only logs and stuff are stuff i put in...I ran lines last year and this year without hang ups so i think im in the clear on putting them on the bottom i just wasnt sure if thats the best spot or not, its def. the easiest
  22. The only places deep enough to put any would be the channel and when it floods I think the current would take care of just about nothing. Logs and brush are always getting washed through there anyways
  23. a Shads purpose in life is fish food, and the big Flat head typically like live stuff. I always try to bait with live bait, sometimes its hard to keep them alive though
  24. I used to live right off Panther and always ran that creek when i was little, havent been in a while it used to have some holes here and there where you could catch some goggle eyes, I always used a fly rod. At one point some asshole filled in the hole at Wester Slab with gravel using his tractor....But after floods it washed back out. I did go down to where the James and Panther meet and caught a lot of goggle eye there
  25. Also i have been tying one end to the dock and the other to anchor i go drop, Do you think i would have less tangles if i could suspend it off the bottom a little bit
