  1. Flatheads spawn later in the summer. In Arkansas you can't spearfish a flathead until July 15. They wanna make sure they spawn before they get shot
  2. Good point EvilCatfish....arent Spots that are around 15" in table rock at the end of there lifespan anyhow? MDC says they are.
  3. someone in Minnesota won it... I guess i gotta keep saving
  4. Those flicker shads will catch you more crappie than anything,They are such a good bait for the money and they literally catch everything. One more color i always have on is the Racy Shad. when we troll we have four rods out and always have different colors with one being racy and it always out fisher every color. usually by the end of the day we have a few of them tied on. The Purple Tiger that you have there is also a great color. Let us know how you do, i dont fish Pomme, buton Stockton, Bull, and table Rock the flicker shads are great.
  5. It is pretty funny nobody cares about the 89 fish that were cleaned, but when 6 bass are pictured on a stringer all hell breaks loose. Good Catch, Time to buy a bigger freezer haha
  6. 10-4 fireline and an 8lb flouro leader at 250ft back i can hit 20-22 with a #7 flicker at 1.6 mph. I like trolling with my line as far away from the boat as possible. since ive started doing that and using the trolling motor instead of the big motor i have caught three times as many fish. It a long fight to get them in but i feel like its worth it with all the extra bites
  7. im 10-2 braid with flouro leader also. No problems at all. Casts a mile
  8. i used them a lot last year, a few walleye and some giant crappie. I like the shads better, although i do like to have one flicker minnow tied on when trolling
  9. Yep, i am making them with or without guards.
  10. I wouldn't buy a Lews spinning unless it is an expensive one. I've had 3 of them break and replaced and they are not smooth anymore. So I am Ready to buy something different now
  11. im a big believer in getting that bait way back away from the boat, i dont think 100' cuts it when u have a big ole 2 stroke making all kinds of noise. I have a gps troller now and can say i have caught way more than when i was trolling with the big motor (even my 60hp 4 stroke)
  12. yes, If you have facebook look them up on there under tinboats bass club. Or member on here is "Ketchup" that runs the tourny. It was a lot of fun
  13. We fished out of cape yesterday for Ketchups tin boat bass tourny and everyone said it was tough. Lots of short fish and just a handful of keepers. I only Caught 2 and my buddy caught a keeper walleye. So that was a bonus. I did catch two 14 inchers on one crank at the same time. It was fun even though it rained like crazy on us
  14. i didnt really start until 2012. We spearfish and honeslty if we get 4 between us in a whole weekend i feel like were doing pretty good. I catch more fishing the old fashioned way for them. Lot of people think its easy to go down and shoot them, definitely not the case. We see more that are right around the 18 inch mark, but we leave those alone, cant really measure before you shoot them so we make sure to go for ones that are for sure over 18. The walleye act way different, they will come in to check you out, but its usually a fly by, they dont stick around very long. and 90% of the time the walleye are in pairs. It would be nice to know how it was before the kill. I heard about it but dont know much about it. Was it a pretty significant kill?
  15. Everything does look bigger under water for sure but, My brother and i dive a lot when its warm and we see tons of bass. i remember one instance that we came up and i said "did you see those two smallmouth" and i was thinking 7 lbs. He said if they weren't 7 they were 8. He has been diving bull for 15 years. I dont see many that i would say could go 8. But 4-6 we see tons of. Bass are really curious of divers they will come right out to see what you are, almost within arms length. Lots of times ill look behind me and you will have a entourage of Largemouth. I havent done much night diving. Lots of times we will get a rock and ding our tanks, that usually gets some bass to come and see what is making the noise, definitely understand why they put rattles in baits now
  16. you need to slap a mask on and go for a dive. It really will make you sick. I always laugh when i here people talk about large bass population are low.
  17. i see 5 pounders every time i go down, They might be hard to catch but they are everywhere.
  18. i hear ya man, i do love my little boat. My little Nissan Frontier pulls it great. Mine is an 08 which i really like, i dont like the layout of the newer ones. I have a locker for 7'6" rods, the newer ones don't have that. The 46lb thrust troller just wasn't enough either. i love my GPS troller just hit a button and it holds you still, it is awesome on taney. And it actually rides great in rough water due to the big V. It will get ya a little wet but as far as aluminum goes it is pretty smooth
  19. Miss it when its windy...AMEN i got used to my dads glass boat and then i finally got me a tracker 175txw, Fishes great with one person but definitly gets blown around a little. I got a motorguide XI5 and now the wind is my friend. I have fished from a tracker 190 and it definitely is a way more stable nicer boat. Wish i would have held out and got the 190. My 60 hp 4 stroke is great though. Can drive forever without worrying about gas...literally forever
  20. Cant wait to get back to Diamond City. Table Rock season ends this weekend for me. We basically lived down there last summer. Im gonna try to get some good underwater videos of bass this year
  21. I have became a big fan of Shimano with the rear drag lately. I have a few Lews spinning reels and they are junk, i love the baitcasters but i have had problems with 4 of my lews spinners. Granted they aren't the most expensive ones but i literally have had two of them break in half (the part that goes up to the rod) and all i did was set the hook on crappie. And another the handle has so much slop in it. And it catches now like it has some flat bearings
  22. ive been getting mine at F&F, he says he has been selling them like crazy
  23. This thread makes me want to pull the OAF sticker off my truck. Geezus champ? Every tourny you fish is perfect But when guys go out of cape Fair, or some Other small tourny on the lake happens, or if someone wears a jersey you start throwing a fit. The biggest answer in the world is to go to Bull Shoals during the busy season.
  24. Im basically saying that cars that are that designed to be ran on regular gas are being converted over to run e-85 and are reliable, so im just wondering why the same thing couldnt be one with an outboard
